  1. At the start of the season I was slowly losing interest and faith with Kimi as you guys could have deducted from my previous posts but I must admit I am gradually being converted back to a fan of his with the last GP races. He definitely showed complete determination and his outstanding abilities as a driver lately. You see a lot of drivers like Sutil, Kovalainen or even Webber I should say who all have pretty fast and competitive cars but they can barely delivers the strict minimum. On the other hand, Kimi has showed that he is more than an ordinary driver. I have a similar analogy for cars taken off the horse racing "Good horses make good jockeys...a bit like how good cars make good drivers" but Kimi is an exception :) All that said, I still wish sometimes he could take more risks but oh well you can't get everything I suppose.
  2. The Toyota Formula 1 team is currently negotiating with Kimi Raikkonen to sign up the Finn as the team's driver for the upcoming Formula 1 season. The team has made no secret of it that it wishes to start the 2010 season with a complete new driver line-up. Toyota has made an offer to Raikkonen but Raikkonen's manager has already informed the team the Finn wants a better payment. Speaking about the current negotiations Toyota Motorsport president John Howett told Reuters: "We don't play too many games. We put on the table what we can afford and what we think is a serious offer in the current market. I think genuinely we could work well with him, give him a car that's quick. "We have had very good relationships with Scandinavian drivers in the rallying times that enjoy life and it works very well, so we could cope with it as a team." Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen will be replaced by double world champion Fernando Alonso at Ferrari next season. The Spaniard will race alongside Felipe Massa at the Italian squad. That is going to be interesting...

  5. Is it the same amount of time for a stivo? I know it might sound stupid to ask but my mechanic gives me the impression that it is not that easy for some reason...
  6. Make it three....I like the all red can too with the white logo. There is enough black stuff in the engine bay and may be I can gain a few kW as a bonus =-) lolllll
  7. The long-awaited confirmation of Fernando Alonso's move to Ferrari will take place on Thursday, the Spanish media reports. The former double World Champion has been tipped for a five-year deal with the Maranello team at an estimated worth of €25m (£23m) per season. With Alonso long since connected with the Ferrari name, Spanish radio station Cadena SER has reported that the news will finally be official on Thursday of this week. The Oviedo driver is expected to line up next to Felipe Massa, with Kimi Räikkönen tipped for a McLaren return alongside current Champion Lewis Hamilton. Alonso's anticipated contract with Ferrari is believed to take him to the end of the 2014 season, with 2015 remaining an option. With the predicted €125m (£115m) deal believed by many F1 insiders to have been in place for some time already, 28-year-old Alonso is expected to remain in a Ferrari until the end of his career.
  8. Yeah I did and all I can say is that we (Man Utd) were lucky because of silly mistakes made by Foster and Ferdinand. But, oh well we are first for now... :-D
  9. I have had a similar "whining" noise with my car from time to time lately. I have not been able to tell exactly when it comes on yet. :-l The difference from you guys is that it will pop up during the first few seconds when I take my foot off my accelerator. I cannot feel any gears grinding or anything but that noise does make you worry if there is something wrong. I have a service due next week so I will get my mechanic to look into it and let you guys know the outcome. I will also try and record the noise on my phone if it ever pops up again so that everyone will know what kind of noise I am referring to. Has anyone been experiencing the same issue? I would really appreciate your help.
  10. In terms of colour, what part are we actually specifying the colour? the actual can itself (in black in original picture) or just the logo (silver)?

  13. Using your iPhone, or other GPS enabled smartphone to navigate whilst driving has become illegal in at least one Australian state. Police say, that using a mobile phone when driving, regardless of the active application is not on. With the built in Google Maps application the iPhone has replaced the street directory in many vehicles. With the iPhone 3GS hitting the market, sporting a built in compass and accompanied by new navigation apps from the likes of TomTom and Navigon, the Apple (and many other brands as well) smartphone can become a surrogate portable sat-nav system. But authorities in Australia, in particular the state of Victoria have decided a clamp-down is required. The Victorian Government road traffic authority VicRoads will introduce a new amendment to the road rules beginning November 9th. From then it will be illegal for drives to navigate using a device that can be used as a phone and a satellite navigation system. "A phone will only be allowed to be used for its primary purpose," a VicRoads spokeswoman said in a telephone interview with The Age newspaper. "If it's a phone, it's a phone.” It seems that increasingly as drivers get nabbed by police for using their mobile devices, the excuse that the device was being used as a GPS is becoming commonplace. New South Wales has already stated the practice is an offence in Australia's most populace state. Too bad if you just outlaid AU$99.99 for your new Navigon or TomTom app for this very purpose. It is not clear that even mounting the smartphone in a hands free cradle, as traditional portable sat-nav devices can be done, will not be enough to ‘get around’ the new law. Because the primary function of the device is a phone, it is illegal to operate it when in control of a vehicle. [uPDATE] Unlike the New South Wales law, use of a cradle may well be a legal way around the new rule. Using a mobile phone to make or receive a phone call while driving is prohibited except if the phone: * is secured in a commercially designed holder fixed to the vehicle, or * can be operated by the driver without touching any part of the phone. All other functions (including video calls, texting and emailing) are prohibited.
  14. Are piggybacks and full aftermarket ECU's illegal? :-s
  15. Congratulations Simon. :) Glad to hear everything went to plan! Gotta love it when they get ****** and then you surprise them. It keeps the adrenalin going and spice things up. LoL =-)
  16. What's with all those stupid ideas and regulations, FIA is seriously trying too hard. Btw, what happened to the idea of having a new governing body for those who were thinking about leaving due to budget restriction? I reckon we need a change...!!! :-D lol
  17. What's the whole point of making legalisation of engine power? I can only see it as it will be making the sport more boring as fk...why? :-s We might as well have only one team running 20 cars... :-l
  18. If I knew what to measure I would :-/ How do we specifiy the colour...colour code? :-D lol
  19. Hey what does shearing off mean? I thought the drive shaft breaks suddenly and that's it or is there any sign that indicates it is going to break? I am only asking because I hear some noises occasionally (pass the exhaust) and disappear after a while and I hope it is not this. :-l I have no clue why I am suspecting it can be this either...
  20. HID is as follows (copy and paste from the internet): How HID Technology works ? Xenon HID lamps do not have a filament. Instead the light is created by an electrical discharge between two electrodes in an air tight tiny quartz capsule filled with xenon gas, mercury and metal halide salts. This improves durability as road vibrations can cause damage to coil lighting technologies. These light sources also produce a blue-white light that is safer because it is closer to natural daylight. The color temperature is approximately 6000K compared to 3200K for halogen. The increased light output from a 35 watt Xenon HID Lamp is approximately 80% more light then a 55 watt halogen bulb. The Xenon HID system will also draw less power from your vehicles electrical system. and "Angel Eyes" I believe just refers to the halo around the light purely for a better aesthetic look I would say. If you are looking for a HID kit you only need to know the type of bulb that you require and the kit will consist of the appropriate ballast (sort of transformer) and bulbs for you to do the conversion. I hope that helps. :)
  21. Evan...make sure you write a DIY in case others wanna follow your path :-D hahaha I am so curious to see the outcome in all aspects. :) Keep us updated.
  22. Hey J1ZY, may be you can ask nicely to those guys in the photoshop thread if they can do a few mock ups for you... :-D that way you will have a better overview of how it is going to look like.
