  1. My pedal moves as you've described.
  2. US Toyota Nation site has started a thread for people to post pictures of their Highlanders in out of the way locations. We need a few more pictures of Aussie Klugers on there. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313944

    Driving Lights

Or maybe not a Kluger :) Ken. Looking at the seller's sale history, they've sold a lot of different car components, so I doubt they have any of the vehicles. I have no issues if anyone wants to use any of my images provided they use their manners and PM me to kindly ask for permission first, which I'll happily grant 99% of the time.

    Driving Lights

See following link for details on the wiring setup. http://www.accessconnect.com/fog_driving_lights_wiring.htm Driving lights are linked to the highbeam through a relay switch, so that when the high beam is activated, the driving lights are also activated. A switch can be installed in the circuit so that the driving lights can be switch off, should they not be required. The feed for the driving lights runs through a relay as the control circuit contains components which have would produce too much voltage loss and are also not really rated for the higher current that the lights draw. The switch for my driving lights was supplied by toyota and is shown below. The spare auxilary panels are smaller than a standard switch.

    Driving Lights

Have seen the HID kits on ebay for between $55-$150 Definitely like the look of the LF 170 HIDs but the price is a bit scary. The LF240s are monsters and would look way too big on the Kluger

Just noticed the picture on ebay has been changed to the one off of the toyota site EDIT: Received an apology email and all is good. Happy with ebay seller's response.

    Driving Lights

I'll see what the response is from my initial email. I'd be happy with a suitable licence fee, just not happy to not have been asked first.

    A/C Odour

Good point Hado. I'm trying to get an official TSB from someone in the US and will keep the forum updated with my progress.

    A/C Odour

I was told $75 to deodorise the system, or like you, get a bottle of air freshener. Later models won't have the problem as it appears to be a redesigned part.

    A/C Odour

Toyota have released a TSB in the US to address odour issues in A/C. Unfortunately I checked with a service centre here and Toyota are not doing the same thing :( http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showpost...amp;postcount=1

    Driving Lights

I have Hella Comet 500 lights. I was cautioned against getting large lights by the dealer when I bought the car as they can block too much airflow through the grill. The range of the lights isn't fantastic though, probably 100m more than the high beam on the Kluger. It's ok for the driving I do, but I'd want to upgrade if I were doing a lot of rural night driving. My recommendation would be to avoid them unless you need a cheap light. I had driven a car several years ago with Hella Rallye 1000 lights and they were quite good. Another person I know swears by light force.
  16. For an oncoming vehicle, a wet road can be worse than dry as the light will reflect off the water on the road. The regulations leave a lot of room for interpretation by the person issuing the ticket. The following document around page 5 attempts to clarify things somewhat, but it isn't exactly 100% clear: http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resources/..._22_sept_09.pdf The main problem the law is attempting to address is all the try hards who drive around all the time with poorly mounted lights on blinding everyone. Anyone know how well adjusted the kluger's lights are fromm the factory, I've never really checked. I did find this comprehensive link on adjusting lights: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html
  17. +1 to what jaderd said. $1500 would probably get you a DA polisher, pads plus enough products to last the time you have the car. With the paint protection you will still need to wash and maintain the finish on your car anyway. As for the leather, it depends on what the plan offers and requires you to do. I've had a similar plan on my leather furniture at home, which only cost $250 and basically covers free repair for pretty much any damage. With kids I've already made several claims and it has been worth every cent. The cleaning and conditioning products are actually pretty good too. If the interior protection package is of a similar cost and offers similar benefits then it would be worthwhile. I suggest you do some numbers, phone up someone and get a ball park figure to repair/clean the leather in the car, add on $50 for products over the life of the car and you'll probably find it's cheaper not to get the protection plan by the time you factor in the risk. I've used Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner for treating the leather and Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Wipes for quickly cleaning up spills and dirt, which has worked well so far. The Leather Doctor also produces an automotive care product, which I haven't used, but they are the company that I've used whenever I've had to do anything with leather furniture and they do amazing work. 18. No point having fog lights anyway with the new laws coming into force from 12th October nationally. It will be illegal to drive with fog lights on in clear weather. About time too. http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home/Gener...gulations/Road/
  19. It would be no worse than following a road train driving or a convoy of cars on bull dust. No point washing today in Brisbane anyway as we are getting more dust tomorrow. If the dust hasn't blown off by now after dirving the car, then it's not going to go anywhere. Best thing you can do is rinse the car off with a water stream from a hose and then wash with a good lambswool mit using double bucket method and dry with a microfibre towel. See the following video for advice on good technique: How to Wash Your Car (ShowCar style!) Avoid a car wash as it will scratch your car.
  20. Double bucket method, lambs wool wash mit and microfibre towels.
  21. More dust scheduled for Brisbane over the weekend so I won't be doing that.
  22. $150 for a 20,000km/12 month service under the Toyota Service Advantage scheme which is fixed price plus $65 for the wheel alignment. From memory I was told it is normally around $290 for the service alone. I supplied my own oil but they didn't offer a discount to the price as it was already heavily discounted.
  23. Big thanks to Whitestivo for putting me on to the right person at 4x4more moorooka. Servicing went like a dream this time round and they replaced some items under warranty, which the previous person I'd been dealing with there had been giving me the run around.
  24. Had the arm rest looked at when my car was serviced today as it had broke again. Previously the whole panel was replaced, which took 6 weeks to ship the part from Japan. This time round I was told that they were aware that this was an issue with some Klugers and that parts would be in from Sydney in two days. Was told that replacement parts were different from the original.
  25. The base model Kluger (KX-R) comes with 17" rims, for which there are plenty of choices for replacement tyres, including better quality ones. The mid and top level Klugers (KX-S & Grande) come with 19" rims. That is why the KX-R doesn't have the same issue. The two tyre options available for the specified tyre size on the 19" rims both have a bad reputation for fast wear (and in the US, poor snow performance). There don't seem to be too many options available just either side of the specified tyre size, and of these, non of them rate highly. Clearances also start becoming an issue.
