Got the car back from the shop today. Well at the moment I'm having mixed emotions regarding my latest little modification.

I am absolutely wrapped with the rear! :D

The front however...

Almost feels as if it hasnt really moved from where it was sitting. Now from what I've been told, they should settle in but even then it'll only drop a further couple mm. That's about it. :S

I couldn't afford a full set of coilovers otherwise I would have done that, so I had to settle with a full round of kings. What do you guys think? Is there ssomething amiss?

That date shouldn't be a big problem for myself, Tash and I had a talk about it last night. I have tomorrow off work so I'll be sporting a new mod which I am not disclosing yet (unless you've looked in the 'what did you do to your car today' thread, then you know), Tash knows but she's been sworn to secrecy. :P

Just could not help myself,i called into the panelshop on the way home from work to see how things are going and it's nearly done,she looks awesome it finally got painted yesterday.

I'm spewing i didn't have my DSLR with me,i missed a really good photo op when it was sitting in the spray booth with all the lights on,looked great all shiny en new. :D

I wish I could have my car completely resprayed. The bonnet's got chips, I want the rear bumper replaced so I can remove the towbar :( Oh well, cant wait to see her again! :D

I had the same thing occur when I had the car in Neutral. Was a bit shocking that's for sure.

No no not quite... It's nothing too spectacular. My money has been very short these past few months due to ther committments (like now having seven rims in total due to my little 'accident' busting all 4 in the end) and family stuff. I'm actually quite happy with the sound the car makes with just a panel filter in it at the moment, the CAI stuff was just a bit too wierd.

I just feel the car sits a bit too high.. There's a hint. :P

Well, there is cheap (which I'm fine with), then there is really cheap (which I pushed my limits with). I thought I could get away with a $39 HID kit.

Actually, the kit seemed quite okay. The way it was shipped though was pretty dodgy. The lamps were protected in their plastic cylinder things, but the ballasts were in a thin cardboard box and then the box placed in a shipping paper-type bag. Basically it was just as protected as shipping the ballast in an envelope.

You can probably imagine what the parcel went through on its way here. First day of use, the HID's were fine. Second day resulted in the passenger side one starting up then going Supernova bright then a pop kind of sound. Lamp looked alright, ballast felt like a million degrees.

For the price of the kit, I CBF sorting it out with the seller.... I just bought another one from someone else.

Where did you get this HID kit from? Because I do need it and I am just not sure exactly what I need, where I need to get it, and how much I should be paying.

(also, do you happen to use msn AT all? or not.)

I've been very quiet lately with stuff happening to my car. But I got something coming in the mail that should be here tomorrow. Then I need to dedicate a weekend to install it. Stay tuned! :D

Oh man.... this is starting to get concerning. Here I am reading through things like this which means that it's probably not going to be long before some money is spent. After having the K&N SRI on my Sportivo, I really wonder what surprise the TRD would have when it is let to roar through the intake.

I did say this a year and a half ago though, so I better keep my word:

Even if it didn't do anything for the performance, if I had the TRD I would pay to have my intake changed just to get more 'whirr' out of the s/c.

And now it's the waiting game. :)

I think I'll be rather jealous of you for quite a while Daryl haha. Now that you've posted up some better photos (making it easier to see the car). I will say that eyelids won't suit the TRD I don't think.

The lines of the car just look so good without them. I just cannot imagine having them on there.

I also realised that you'll have the oppertunity to go with the newer rear sway bar from ultra racing that they just bought out in comparison to the ones I have and you had. Would be interesting to see how much difference it does on there.

I am really gutted I cannot make the annual meet this year. I REALLY want to see this car. I might count my pennies and come up to QLD later in the year i think. ;)

I'm not the one for spending a huge amount on my daily driver. It just happens that the payout ended up recovering the cost of the car itself, plus a fair bit more so I feel like being a bit conservative with my spending.

I do understand that, it is a bit of money and I wouldn't dare spend $50,000 on one. maybe 40-42 but thats it.

Saw a black 3500SL in VIC for $55 large and I nearly wet myself haha. Then again it was optioned with everything I have now on the ZR6. Sat nav and moonroof. and in black.... mmmmmm cant afford it :(

oi daryl, when you get the trd, we have to go somewhere together and get a good deal on the intake... :D

Once I get the TRD, everything is going to be done RIGHT.

I'll be getting CES and CES only to work on the intake and exhaust.

Well I have said my final goodbyes to Sam. She was such a lovely car. Just saying goodbye to her was enough to want to bring me to tears. Such a sad moment. So with that said... this was the last time I saw her:

Thanks for the offer Ash, but I've already given Elgin's TRD a test drive so I know what they feel like. Certainly felt different, but what was felt the most is feel from the drivers seat. You know how when you get you seat set up right and get used to it, then everything else feels different. But apart from that, it's all familiar driving... just a little more fun.

Plus your car isn't exactly one that I would feel comfortable driving in a spirited fashion. It's just your car seems so new still.

In the meantime, I'm on the way to Dubbo now to return the hire car (it's my old man's driving shift), and then stop by the towing depot to remove my plates from the car, and my precious SD card out of the GPS that holds some valuable trip statistics on it

Then say my final goodbyes.

Tell her that we'll all miss her when you do your final goodbyes. :)
