Rowan ain't joking. Fuming would be around the best word to describe many of the feelings running through my head. I really need a good comeback now.
Oh yeah, loving the 20's as well Ash. Just makes the 19's seem basic in comparison.
Hey Dj wasn't i getting hammered for posting repeats other day?

http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=19703
Just hijack of prevoud thread.
Just seems double standards here? It been long 15 hour day for me and bit annoyed that other get raps for double threads and other get flamed for it.
Yeah sure Iam new comer to this forum but no exuse for some to get flamed and others to get away with it at the end of the day we all share the same interest here.
sorry I had to point - Iam not here to stir the pot just to share & gain knowleadge & interest of my toyota

bondie my good man!! wanna boot swap? lol
Naaaaa, sorry brother, Thats one of the reasons i chose the car ive got, not a big fan of raised spoilers. No offence, personal opinion. Don't mind the little lip/duck tails though. Im going for the more of a sleek look.
Cheers, anyways.
Bondie - hence why Iam putting a duck tail lip / not into big spoilers that look like you could push your car like a shopping trolley :-)

Dj - chill out d00d search engine does not always bring up what you want it to bring up.....
I have not been to 1 forum in my life that has not had double threads or tripple threads of similar question asked.
And you will always get people like your self posting hit the search button and getting fustrated about for nothing.
it may have been brought up before under photoshop heading topic post - which to me had no relation of bonnet scoops etc as a serchee searching for advice and info.
just my cent worth & not meant as personal attack either

"Drink more beer, forget about the last one, get yourself another" Go the kiwi's.
Damn it!!!!!!!!
Oh well. Thanks for the info boys. I thought it would be to good to be true. Otherwise i supose every one would be doing it.
Maybey ill just have to wait till I win the lotto.
Bondie I looked into this a while back will have to dig up old info of my desktop on bussiness trip atm but here is sample of FAQ
When shipping RORO we recommend KIWI Car Carriers where possible - the main reason is that all cars carried with KIWI are covered by KIPS marine insurance automatically at no extra cost .. not a lot of people know that if a ship sinks with your car onboard, you can be held liable for part of the salvage costs unless you have "general average" insurance (which is also covered by KIPS)
Once your vehicle lands here.
When the vehicle lands in Australia we can make arrangements for all of the Customs clearance and Quarantine paperwork. You will be instructed how to make payment for the ocean freight, import duty and GST - again you are able to pay directly so you know there are no hidden costs.
If you choose container shipping, you may be invited to attend as the container is opened and your vehicle is unpacked - otherwise it will normally be transported directly to the RAWS workshop for compliance. The work necessary to meet ADR standards varies considerably for different makes & models, but all vehicles have fluids & filters replaced (oil, air & fuel) and almost certainly require new tyres to be fitted, then it must be passed by an approved engineer. Once the compliance work is all done and you have made payment for it, you can then take the car to arrange registration (we can help with this if necessary - please ask)
Now you enjoy your new car.
Your new car should be ready to register in around 10 to 12 weeks from the time of purchase. All prices given are only estimates and do not include on-road costs, but will normally include full ADR compliance - you will need to contact your local authority for registration prices (VicRoads, RTA, etc.) Prices could vary depending on the final auction sale price and current exchange rate.
Be the envy of your friends, drive your dream.
Vehicle import laws.
Australia has some of the most strict import laws prohibiting the import of most vehicles. The basic law states that a vehicle may only be imported if it has never been sold locally in full volume. This applies to vehicles that are essentially the same vehicle with different badging. (eg. Ford Laser & Mazda 323)
A vehicle is considered to be a different model if it varies substantially in design to a local car, as is the case with the Nissan 300ZX which was only ever available here in a 2+2 seater version, so we can import the Jap spec 2 seater cars. Different engine type or size does not classify a car as a different model. Once a vehicle is deemed to be a different model it must pass the S.E.V.S. criteria in order to be allowed for import.
Specialist & Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme (S.E.V.S.)
All vehicles are now judged using the new S.E.V.S.ruling system. There is no easy way to explain this quickly but basically vehicles must meet 2 out of the following 4 criteria:
Be significantly different in appearance to vehicles sold new in Australia
Have unusual design features to anything sold new locally
Performance greater than 105kw/ton, or unusually good economy
Be featured in specialist publications (eg. High performance imports, Zoom, etc.)
They have a web site that keeps an updated list of all vehicle types that have been reviewed for import and approved or declined. Go to S.E.V.S.
What about cars not listed there?
Obviously not all cars would pass these criteria. Most of the popular ones would have been judged already, but if there is a vehicle that you think would be eligible for import that is not listed, let us know and we will lodge an application for you.
Import approval.
Just because the vehicle type has been approved for importing, it doesn't mean you can just buy one and ship it here. Any vehicle that comes into Australia needs to have an import permit issued by DOTARS in Canberra. Under the new laws, the import approval for SEVS cars must be lodged by the compliance workshop (RAWS), but as usual we will be here to help with this part of the process if necessary.
Personal Imports.
You can import any car as a personal import if you have owned and used it for at least 12 months overseas first. You still have to apply for an import approval for a personal import. You will need to provide registration and insurance paperwork to prove ownership history and use of the vehicle. We can provide assistance to help you every step of the way.
Importing 1988 and older cars.
Any vehicle built in 1988 or older is allowed for import into Australia without restriction, however as with any other vehicle you will need to get an import approval from DOTARS in Canberra. These older cars do not need to go through the normal SEVS compliance process, although you will need to do some basic modifications and get an engineers report proving that the car meets the relevant ADR's for the year of manufacture - the work necessary for this will vary between different cars and from state to state .. generally speaking you should allow around $800 to $1,300 for compliance work on most popular 1988 models

For those who miss out from downloading from the America site.
Would appreciate a thanks for my time to upload to rapidshare.
Hi, Am new here. How do I download these service manual from Rapidshare - do you have a link?
Um. Is that a serious question? On this page, I can see my post with all the links, then I can see those links quoted in two more posts. I don't mean to be rude, but that is pushing it.
Hey Dj - Maybe he mean some of the link if not all are dead.

Random TRD chop - black headlights, new wheels, body vinyl, Subaru Liberty scoop.
New ideas for the front end -
1) Lexus LS TOM'S GT front bumper grafted on
2) Lexus IS unknown front bumper grafted on
3) Colour match black parts of sportivo kit to body, leaving black rings around fog lights....gotta squint a little.
4) Lexus LS Artisan front bumper grafted on...could only find a black pic so I gave the whole car a two-tone paint.
Hey man can you do me favour since you are so good at photoshop can you do white or silver aurion with Boss XR8 bonnet scoop

And for those people that have turbos and are asking well my car has low compression yes that correct turbos do have low compression ratio but reason why higher ron is needed is because when you come on boost your comp ratio jumps higher hope it all makes sense now.

If you filled up not long after the fuel light came on you should have only needed around 55 litres. The tanks capacity is 70 litres. So taking this into consideration you have actually had quite reasonable fuel economy.
o.k so there is 15 litre safety net from when the light comes on?
-
O.k,
So far done 2 tank fulls of 70 litres
1 tank was freeway driving to the south coast barely no traffic 620km since the fuel light came on.
1 tank was traffic driving suburbs 512km since the fuel light came on.
I have to keep in mind too aircon on all the time
not good fuel economy

With all this talk about the differences between 95 RON and and 98 RON, I personally doubt that it will make any difference in our Aurion without a supercharger. The whole octane thing is to give an identifier of how much the fuel can be compressed before it spontaneously ignites. The lower the octane, the less fuel that can be compressed. For a car with forced induction, the higher octane fuels are really needed here because an increase in air intake equals an increase in fuel intake.
With the Aurion, the difference in power between unleaded and premium unleaded could be understandable since the fuel injection system may pick up on the fact that there is premium in the tank (through the use of knock sensors and whatnot) and be able to increase fuel delivery. I extremely doubt that the fuel injection system would inject any more fuel however when running 98 RON than running 95 RON as you would need an increase in air intake to match. As well, I believe that all this talk about 98 cleaning your engine better than 95 is all a load of marketing hype.
Either way, I'm going to continue with using 95 RON. If you want to use 98 RON for piece of mind, then that would be your choice. I just don't like hearing it when people say that they are getting more power or better fuel economy when using 98 over 95 without giving substantial evidence to back it up. Sorry if this sounded like the start to some argument. It's been a long day and I can't word it any different right now.
Higher Rons are for engines with highrer compression to stop it from knocking.......allot of people are under the assumption that it makes there car go better or get more km's with hiogher ron not the case if the engine does not state it needs it then your just pumping wasted money into your car

Hi lads,
has anyone looked into modifying there steering wheel with later model so it has the buttons for air con control buttons on the steering wheel
Azza
hmm, not sure about other models but sportivo models basically have no space left for any buttons lol.
the aurion touring and sportivo zr and all other top models apart for the base model at-x have them on the right hand of the steering wheel look similar setup to the car audio buttons setup.
this probably djkor as his into auto electrics
