  1. hey dave funny you mention the scarboro part dept. i had a good experience with them when buying my sideskirts. prices were good and were willing to lower the price even for the TRD stuff.

city toyota part dept in northbridge consistently had the cheapest price and willing to discount toobut there was one guy that was really anal and lectured me when i asked for a discount lol, the other two guys were good to me. bought most of my parts from them.

only got to service my corolla twice in my ownership. they were done at new town toyota. the service dept i had no problems with, two toca members work there. parts there are expensive though.

yeah it originally started out good, like when i bought my first set of wheels (raptors) they were really helpful (rodney at least), but after i purchased the kappa's and now recently with the body kit, they havent made the experience very nice at all.. sure prices are good, but for some reason they really make you feel like your asking them to kill a puppy when you just want to order a front skirt kit.. so due to that bad attitude i wont be giving them anymore business. then when rodney went away on leave and i dropped in to pick up the rear skirt that had arrived, his replacement was just about the rudest mofo i have ever come acorss in customer service (i work and manage a retail outlet) and would never hire someone with that attitude.

but thats just my experience, if it wasnt for rodney at scarboro parts, i would of stopped going there a long time ago.

  2. fine weather is on the cards for here in perth! yay

    washed

1 layer of autoglym super resin polish,

    2 layers of nxt 2.0

    cleaned wheels and dressed tires

    vacuumed inside

goldclass dash and trim foam interior

    nxt glass cleaner

    done!

havent been following my regime as closely as i want to lately... been waxing once every 2 weeks, and washing/UQW twice a week.

will give her a mother of a detail once the bodykit is fitted. yay!

  3. IMO

my personal experiences with scarboro toyota havent been totally great.

    - sales staff were very slack once the car was signed for, pre delivery blew out, salesperson basically dissappeared off the face of the planet once we signed the papers.

-parts department is pretty poor too, their onyl saving grace is a guy there called rodney who gives good prices. but pretty much EVERYONE else there is either rude, or has a "i dont give a f.uck attitude" not mentioning any names...gary

-service dept, i wont be sending my car back there. ever. when first got the car, the car would bounce up and down all the time, had to bring it back 3 times until they finally agreed that there was a problem (other two times they tried the whole "they all do that" line) and the problem was found to be 3 buckled wheels!!! upon finding this, they attempted to weasel their way out of a warrenty claim, going by the theory that "this is the first ever case we have come accorss so therefore its NOT a warrenty case" f**k that. caused a stir and they agreed to replace all 4 steel wheels, which then took 5 weeks, yes i kid you not, FIVE weeks to arrive.

they also did not follow basic requests to NOT WASH CAR WHEN SERVICING, got car back from servcing (first service) to find it swirled to buggery and with water marks on windows. not happy.

also can never get a hire car from those chumps, even if i book weeks ahead. "sorry their all booked out"

    city toyota-

service department - excellent mechanically, had a few issues with them again not following my request to not wash the car during service, but upon bringing it up with the customer feedback, the head PR officer for city toyota personally rang me and apologized for the mix up, and then a little while later the actual mechanic who worked on my car rang to apologize again. for the level of customer service, i will definately be bringing it back for all service needs.

also have always been great in organizing a hire car for the day when my car has gone in for servicing. the service rep was like "have you ever driven a prius before? ill let you take the top of the range prius for a day instead of the camry, let me know how you like it"

parts department - havent had as much experience with city toyota althou they seem happy to offer good prices (if not better) than scarboro toyota, so will be dealing with their parts dept from now on. plus they all seem to be happier and more helpful than the grouches at scarboro.

sorry havent had much experience with the other toyota dealerships so cant offer any insight on them...

    overall -

even thou scarboro toyota is less than 10mins drive from my place, i would much much rather drive double that time to city toyota for their superior mechanical service and customer service. i wont be buying another car fro scaboro toyota, and would definately not recommend them to anyone i know.

  4. Thanks for all the info..I guess I might have to raise it by 10mm the next time I go back Pedders when they have the camber pin.

Hey Davo, maybe we should meet up :yahoo:

    for sure mate

trying to get more aurions together here in perth! have a few so far, and now the weather is getting better, photoshoots/meets will be happening pretty often! yay!

  5. Didn't do much (besides wash it) but I did get this:

    post-14703-12834129968_thumb.jpg post-14703-128341300422_thumb.jpg

Sportivo Accessories bodykit. Front spoiler, rear lower spoiler (which I was really after), side skirts and sports grille. It's the wrong colour but @ $380 posted I couldn't say no.

is that a bicycle repair stand i spy in the corner of that pic??

    mtb or roadie?

    Both, I have a 2006 Trek 6500 mtb and a 2005 Argon18 Radon (both heavily modified):

Trek has been upgraded to full XT, Custom wheelset (DT 4.1D rims, Champion spokes, XT hubs), Bontrager Race X-lite seatpost, Fizik Arione saddle, Amoeba carbon handlebars + amoeba stem. Looking to upgrade this one soonish. Max spend will be about $4000, unsure if I should stay hardtail or go dual. Probably looking at: Felt, BMC, Santa Cruz, Cannondale or Trek as the next manufacturer.

The Argon18 is full ultegra (6600) but running a SRAM Rival 50/36 crankset, Spinergy Xaero Lite wheelset (2008 Bontrager Race-X-Lites when I used to do my sprint sessions), Continental GP4000 tyres, Token aero carbon handlebars, Pro PLT carbon stem, Bontrager Race X-lite seatpost, Fizik Arione saddle, Ultegra pedals.

I enjoy riding but I am not very good at either discipline.

    What about yourself?

    nice collection..

i manage a bicycle store here in perth...

have traditionally been a mtber but am getting into the road side.. looking at riding either a tcr advance 1 or scott addict r2

  6. damn :( how bad is it? possible to buff it out yourself with some compound and aggressive pads? or even wet dry the area and buff it back? i think after having someone do a job like that on my car i wouldnt want them to touch it again :(

which panel shop was it? (can pm me if you dont want to post on here) as im in the process of looking for a good panel shop to paint and fit my bodykit and can tick this one off the list <_<

  7. I don't usually like to post just to say I've cleaned my car, because at the end of the day, it's something that is a part of the car's life. But today's cleaning was much more significant than the usual clean.

At one point I was pretty picky about keeping my TRD well waxed etc etc. Then the Annual Meet happened. Prior to today, the last time I waxed my car/cleaned it with such passion was the day before the meet. Boy did I learn from my mistakes today (well kinda). Not doing any maintenance spray waxes etc had resulted in a fair coverage of these little dots of road grime/tar on the sides of the car which claying alone could not really remove. Had to attack it all bit by bit until it was all cleaned up. One conclusion I reached today as well is that I don't really want to clay this car again. Maybe that decision may change in the future, but right now I feel that when that time comes again, I am willing to pay someone to do it.

So I started washing her from 10:45am. The house next door is currently for sale and was open house for the morning. A couple went in to view around 11am, and by the time they left at around 11:30am, I was still drying my car. The reason I mentioned that is because later on at around 2pm, they drove past the house again (to show someone else it appears), and it was quite funny to see their 'WTF' expression as they drove by and could still see me cleaning the car; I was waxing it at this point in time.

Anyways, finally by 4pm I was all complete. I've had enough of this for now. I figured I'll take some photos to remind me of what it should look like and here is the end result of my 5 hour cleaning spree.

LOVE IT! (althou whats with the soft toy hanging below the car? :P ) after a 5 hour deatail, theres nothing better than sitting back with a cold beer whilst admiring your work. :)

i cant wait to get my kit fitted and the paint out gassed so i can give mine the detail of her life!

until then its simply wax once a fortnight and wash twice a week with ultimate quik wax each time!

  8. Arm yourself with an aerosol can of DRY lubricant, one of those ones with the little hose that lets you get into tight spaces.

Climb under the front end and find all the rubber / polyurethane bushes that secure swaybars, control arms etc and spray liberally in and around. Eventually you should find the cause and when you do don't apply grease !

Ever applied grease or oil to a bicycle chain ? Sounds great at first, but every bit of sand, dust, etc sticks to it eventually getting into places it shouldn't. Same for your car, grease will just trap dirt, mud and other crap into places where it'll just accelerate wear.

You should be able to get a bit of dry lubricant up into the spring seats, however I've never heard these squeek, just bump

    hey mate

just with this one, if you were to lubricate the bushings that hold the sway bar (rear) in place, you are suggesting not to use grease? instead a dry lubricant of some type?

just curious as im wanting to re grease/lubricate the bushings that hold my rear sway bar in place... was originally going to hit it with some teflon based grease??
