hey vinh, is your car always parked at totenham? i always see a white zre with kappas parked either the start of the parking spaces or on its own further out :P
-
it didn't cure enough... still leaves a finger print on the bar when pressed hard. though i followed the instructions on the can to heat it up at 200oC so it completely cures the paint -_- there are also small bubble showing on one side of the bar i think due to the bottom layers of paint not drying properly and air was coming out... looks not good but i seriously cant be stuffed sanding it back and spraying it again <_< mohammed told me i'm just lazy so if i wanna do it properly i have to sand it back and paint it again lol............................................................... heat gun works a treat but i wanna make sure of it 100% cured so i'll leave it for a few more days until i put it on

Hey guys. Been researching the control arm bushings and engine mount inserts from energy suspension and found them to be cheaper buying direct from an american supplier. 100 dollars cheaper to be precise :) Ordered and paid for a set of red engine mount to go with my colour theme and a set each of the front n rear control arm bushings all for 224USD (approx 250 AUD). USPS say that will arrive at my door 6-10 days. Booked a mechanic for next thursday. Hopefully it arrives before then so i can throw it all in ready for the cruise on saturday :) Also ordered a whiteline rear sway from bursons coburg. All other places have been quoting me 180 but these guys have quoted me 155. Hopefully they dont ring me back to say that the prices have been changed. Also waiting for the paint to cure on the front strut and trd cai Let you guys know how the car handles once all these items are on my car! Im expecting a great deal of improvement ;) :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

not mine, u know why? cuz i dunno what an iTrip is LOL! im guessing its something to do with the apples range of "iSuck" products :) -
they shouldn't just combust, they will just flake off being not high temp paint... i just brushed 5 coats on my calipers... didnt bother about the inner face, u cant see it anyways :P
-
U r a tradie uncle evil? Lol I rang coburg bursons (second time) and they quoted me 155. He also added that the last one he sold was 07 LOL. But he told me that he will be able to still get it for me at tht price. No phone call as yet. Fingers crossed i can get it for that price :)

Undersized or even differentially sizes rotors won't cause a shake. But what caused one to be worn out and not the other? when i bought my car, i noticed that there was a left DBA rotor and a OEM right front rotor... possibly changed only one as the left one was not road worthy... <_<
-
i dont know a bad driver but i've seen heaps... like this morning when i was driving my mrs to work. This L plater going around the bend and cutting int my lane with no indicator and at the traffic light ahead signaled right for 3 seconds (on the left lane) and then flicked to left signal and broke hard... i almost hit her from behind.-_- i knew from the way she stopped that it was the instructors feet and not hers. what the f..k is the instructor thinking?
-
pwor man looks sick :)
-
my old rotors are in the dump lol. but they would definitely shake more as one side is undersized and the other full size :P
-
update: far out they just rang me back and told me that the rear sway has gone up to 180 now including GST... he said it didn't go up long ago... i might ask him to sell me that price (150) since he quoted me for that before he corrected himself... edit and update: no good. prices have gone up 30 - 35 bucks since last month... 1 month too late :( cheapest going price is around 180 dollars (i rang every single burson shop in victoria) the 155 price in thier computers are the old prices and they have yet to update the price increase from whiteline
-
well i'm picking mine up tomorrow when it comes in... maybe give them a call and tell them to deliver to u?
-
guys, i just rang bursons in eltham and they said that the last purchase they made with that was 2 years ago!!! :( :( :( i said that a few people got these from your shop last last month and got it for 130 dollars and he said thats not possible WTF??????????????? btw he quoted me 215 <_< edit: i just rang clayton bursons and they quoted me 150 but i said i can get it in eltham for 130 "130!? what are those guys doing??? ok we can do it for you for 130. was it including GST?" "i dunno i didn't ask them. i would think it'll have to be..." "ok we will see what i can do for you..." :D WOOOHOOO!!! so it IS true! well at least i dont have to travel further to eltham :P

major thread revival here guys (haven't done one in a loooooooong time) just ordered my front and rear bushings and engine mount inserts from ES supplier in the US and expecting it in 6 to 10 days... booking in for the mechanic to do the swap in the next 2 weeks (hopefully before the cruise so i can go hard ) i'll keep u posted to see how this goes :)
-
you got 2 weeks... then hard braking and no anticipating... around GOR mountains :P which is my concern atm... if i don't get these bushings and engine mounts in by then... GG for my mountain run and i have to take it easy... i've put the order in today and will pay it shortly, usually will take around 6 to 10 days to arrive here so hopefully it arrives before then. booking mechanic in to do them on a saturday b4 cruise, but thing is need someone drive me back to home for work :(

[VIC] MONTHLY MEET - SUNDAY 25TH JULY 2010

cant wait to see a carby... i haven't seen a carby since i owned the cortina 1 year ago :) -
Ok just been back from the mechanics in fawkner. No pulsating thru the pedals. Shudder is only on light braking n not hard braking He looked at the front rotors and said bedding in procedure was correct. I followed everything he said about bedding them in. Went easy on it for 1000kms... Conclusion: He suspected the left front bushings r too soft n worn as was also said by the pedders suspension in footscray... He said for me to get the energy suspension bushings and put them in and allign n balance the wheels again n see how i go. In the meantime he advised me to go easy and anticipate easy braking until everything is alright
-
They are dba slotted. I think exactly like urs guan lol. Faulty batch much?
-
ok, so i spent 30 mins changing them back to what they were before and still no difference... maybe even worse! :( still getting the shaking from 80km/h down to 50km/h... MY NEW ROTORS! :( :( :( :( and i only travelled not even 1000 kms! need to see what is happening with my mechanic tomorrow morning... maybe bring him a 6 pack too for his troubles
-
Thanks for the replies. Looks like i got a job to do tomorrow... If they stop shaking after changing them back, i will keep them like that until the bushings r in. Get full alligning n balance after that. Let u know how it goes guys
-
Well yes getting a new one would work. But unless u dont mind the rattling of the small bulb in ur air vent i suggest u take it out. And in case u wanna know, in case it ends up in the blower somehow stuffing up ur fan :P
-
hey guys quick question... just got my slotted rotors last month. after i tracked i decided to rotate the wheels rear to front and front to rear. i did it last week but today i just noticed that my steering wheel shudders a bit from ~60km/h to ~40km/h braking lightly... question is do i have to do a wheel alignment and balance after i rotate them? would this be the reason why its shuddering? I had had mixed opinions from people i've asked already. some people say u dont have to get it alligned but you have to get it balanced. some people say its not needed... also i'm getting front and rear bushings for the control arms from energy suspension from the US so i reckon getting aligned and balanced NOW will be useless as i will have to do it again when i put those bushings in... im also getting engine mounts from energy suspension installed in. so wait til all of it is in then i'll wheel allign/balance the lot. another possibility would it be the rotors are warping already? and will it be not good for the tires/wheel/rotors/brakes if i keep driving and wait another month or so until i get these goodies in? cheers guys

stick a vaccuum in and turn it on full suck :P
