  1. I cant agree any more..thats exactly what I am feeling..now that you guys have given out the different explanations, its clear whats going on :)
  2. hehe nice to see your feedback guys..i may be wrong and its true S never stood for sports mode and Toyota never had mentioned about VSC being less intrusive on S mode..well i think whats going on is when im on 'shift range', i could push the car lot more harder just before entering/middle of the corner making it feel like the VSC has little intrusion but on D mode the throttle response is limited as soon as the front wheels start turning into a corner..im not saying the VSC doesnt work on S..i know the Lexus sports is different i agree..but leaving Lexus and their 'sports' mode aside, i have felt this slight difference between the D & S and thought i thought i share my experience.. And i think i have to agree it could be the placebo effect..because on S range just before i enter the corner i have dropped down the gears, put the car on much higher revs and enter it with so much more rage making it difficult for the poor VSC to cope up lol.. And if you guys are thinking why is this guy so much into taking hard cornering, its because of the cops and cameras reducing straight line speeding leaving me with only aggressive cornering to keep me awake :)
  3. Hey guys..not sure if this has been discussed earlier but I was interested in knowing your observation about this..Let me start by saying its not a problem actually a good thing :) Whenever I drive in auto mode that is 'D', i find that when we enter sharp turns the VSC takes over quite a lot and doesnt let us give it a full push through the corner. Its like it knows its a corner before we even start entering the corner and limits the throttle, which is a good thing because its trying to save us from a possible understeer or oversteer which I had faced before in my Camry and almost went through a signal light once lol... And coming to what I want to point out..whenever I am on 'S' or semi-auto mode, I can push the throttle harder and feels like VSC is not taking over my driving on a hard corner..it does eventually if its way over the limit or if the car starts to spin out..in other words have you guys noticed both the traction control and VSC not bothering us much when in semi-auto mode? Its almost like it lets us play for a bit and then wait till we loose it to intervene instead of not letting us even try..actually after I watched the intro video of the new Lexus CT 200H last night I heard them say when in 'Sport' mode the traction control and VSC are less intrusive..that just reminded me that its the same in the Aurion as well..after all Toyota makes them both :) Let me know if you guys have experienced this..Cheers :)
  4. thats neat! I dont think i would be able to let her go :)
  5. Never knew the Sportivo/TRD rear tail lights had a darker shade of red till you pointed it out..i actually took 2 pictures and compared to check..point noted :)
  6. Welcome to the Club and nice to see another Aurion owner :)..and glad you took that sunroof option off because the idea of aftermarket sunroofs just freaks me out..if its factory fitted im up for it..put up some pics when you get the car ;)
  7. I did some furthur digging and found a nice picture demonstration given by DKJOR on how to remove rear seats..just found that page..sorry didnt find it earlier..poor research my bad
  8. Ok I am going to replace my 6x9s at the rear with some new pioneer ones as they are sounding like paper now..but can someone just tell me the easiest way to get the rear seats off and how to take those side panels off as well? Like in a few short easy steps :)..im scared to take those side pillar panels off after seeing the 'side curtain airbag' print on them lol..cheers guys :)
  9. Nice to see another Aurion owner joining the club :)..nice ride you got there and like the others have told you already, give that fuel consumption reading a couple of days and it will be back to normal :)
  10. Thanks for the neat write up Jason. I was thinking of getting one of these one day but wasnt sure how it would turn out to be. Atleast now I know what its gonna be like installed :)
  11. Hey Mate check this website it has info regarding foglights http://www.police.wa...91/Default.aspx Bugger! Just had a read through on the fog lights section..so its a definite no..i cant afford to loose the demerit because i hardly got any left lol..could have lived with the $100 fine but demerits is to much for something like that..well the fog lights on a XR6 is worse than the headlights of an average car because they are pointed to your eye level unlike most car fog lights..based on that the cops banned it for all.. anyways thanks for the link mate..that explained it all..now just have to wait for rainy and foggy days :P
  12. I havent come across the projector type fog lights yet..are they on the new face-lift Aurions? By the way I was thinking of putting this question somewhere around a fog light discussion - im living in WA and can anybody tell me if it is illegal to use the foggies on normal weather (non-fog days) ? Because I find the fog lights on the Aurions arent so irritating (pretty much ground hitting) to the oncoming drivers as compared to the other manufacturer's fog lights..i am more tempted to use them because they give the car a complete look at the front in the night :) So just want to know if its too illegal to use them or its not that bad.. Cheers (double post above sorry about that guys..and i dont know how to delete a post if thats possible)
  13. Nice to see you here mate and nice ride :)

  15. 68-SMD LED's in a low beam projector makes me laugh. You should have listened because even though it didn't cost you much, you can probably guess what I'm thinking of you right now. chicken: I would seriously be wondering if those would be worth the effort. I have had the opportunity to play around with some 30,50,70, and 100 watt LED panels and I must say that for the rated power consumption, I would seriously be expecting more out of them. When it comes to lights for automotive use where you need to project the light further, HID's are by far what I would be calling the most efficient in both power and cost. Yeah I agree I should have just not bothered trying it out because it was pretty bad..oh well next time I know..now I am hunting for some HIDs.. DJKOR: on your HID installation did you have to mount the ballasts with adhesive or screws or were you just able to fit them tight around the place? Looking at the space there I believe there is a chance to just keep the ballast in the corner without having to mount it because there is not much space for it to move around.. edit: I had a look at the picture you had posted earlier and now have a clear idea where to mount the ballasts..by the way i am going to install a kit without a relay harness..will this effect my car's wiring with time? or am I going to be just fine without it?
  16. Tried it and it was useless under the projectors..the park bulbs were brighter than this 68-LED thing..useless..good thing i only had spent $8 to get it lol..worth the try i guess..looks like im going HIDs for this..any suggestions guys? 6000K for sure.. @ Chicken - thats a pretty interesting project out there..but looks difficult..
  17. Hey guys I had ordered a pair of 68-LED SMD globes for the low beams..now i know you guys wont recommend LEDs for the low beams but I just received the pair today and gonna try it out tonight after work..if this works its going to save me a lot of time installing HIDs..i used to have HIDs for nearly 4 years but havent gone into buying them for the Aurion..will let you guys know how its gonna look like..if its good will take some pics too..i think with projection lens and SMDs are going to do a fair enough job :) has anyone tried this before? :)
  18. The stupid vacuums dont last long thats one thing..and to make things worse I had to get in my car and turn it around because I took the wrong vacuum hose which ended up short haha.. Ahh giving away your ride thats definitely sad..i think im sure the next owner will take good care of her as its a nice ride mate :)
  19. I remember your car very well..i remember seeing your car on the forum but thought you had a custom plates so I didnt go into asking you..but i was thinking on the way home im sure I have seen your ride and its got to be this one..we were parked side by side and didnt know hey..next time for sure we can have a chat..because of the plates confusion I missed too :) Nice rims and sticker work on your ride mate..i was actually going to tell you that on the day but I was fighting with that vacuum and didnt get the chance lol..What do you mean next time it wont be you driving your ride?
  20. Hey Legend888 i just saw this post now..wow so you have spotted me..yeah I live in Success..and I take hammond road every morning on my way to work..so you work close by? :) Its nice to know there is a TOC member close by..I assume you spot me from my plates :P
  21. hey guys..I am interested in changing my interior dome light into an LED white one. I have learnt from your above posts that 31mm should be the bulb for the job..found two different bulbs on ebay and I want you guys to have a look at these and tell me which one you thihnk would be better..the 12 LED SMD one or the 48 LED panel..just want one that is the brightest..i have attached the 2 pics.. Another thing I wanted to ask you guys if you dont mind, whats the type of bulb on those door lights? the courtesy door lights if i am not wrong? Cheers
  22. Congrats on choosing a ZR6..its a really good car..im sure you will have lots of fun with it and enjoy the drive everyday..i had the option of getting a Presara but I still went for the sportivo because I simply love the body kit and looks of this one..im guessing yours is the new face-lift one?
  23. You mean to say after the wheel balancing you got the car steering to the left more or has it made it better?
  24. Toyota already had pumped up the tyres to 38 psi when I had got the car, so I always had a fuel consumption that averaged to about 10.5..well thats with my kind of driving which is the more than occasional heavy foot ;)..i got it down to 36 psi all around thats optimum for both comfort and handling with the suspensions on the sportivo..yours being the presara having it above 36 is good to give it a tighter handling and response..I must say im just more than impressed with the Aurion's fuel consumption :)
  25. Thats good news Skyhigh..happy shopping :)
