I agree with you BB..i got the wheel alignment done, regularly check my air pressures and found that the car hardly pulls to left..and like i have mentioned earlier, when i drive the car on a dead flat road it drives straight no pulls and if i drive wrong side of a road which has left angle, it pulls to right. Thats what Toyota told me to do when i asked them about this. They asked me to go and see if the car pulls to right on a road with right angle..and if it does that means its balanced and its doing the right thing..but if it is pulling to the left on a road with right angle then you need to look in to it..i drove my friend's VE Commodore recently and found it does the same..so i think its just normal for the car to do it and the Aurion happens to be one of those cars that are sensitive to the roads.. :)

There are some really interesting inputs here for this problem but i have settled down to think this isnt really a problem that needs to be fixed. Its more like forcing the car than fixing it. Why i tell this is because I drove a few cars other than my Aurion and found they do the same on roads which are curbed to the left. Try driving your car the opposite way (careful doing this because you dont want to go head on with the other car coming towards you :P) on the same road which makes your car go left, and you find that the car sweeps to the right because the angle of the road is reversed. I did this on the Aurion and thought to myself why force the car to go to the right to correct a problem that really is caused by the road itself. And moreover it is such a slight pull i dont even feel it anymore..Have the car properly wheel aligned and you will hardly feel it.

yeah for my corolla i used a ebay hid relay harness and fitted a time delay relay: http://au.toyotaowne...showtopic=24506 a simple design but too simple, you can't turn the delay off on demand. there is a autoheadlight kit with delay off but the aurion already has most of its features: http://www.visionsec...age2_62_64.html Thats some good info you got there Chicken..would look into these..cheers :)

Yup will let you know if i do get to know about it. But im pretty sure they are going to turn back at me and say it doesnt exist because they wouldnt bother trying. Should check with people who have Aurions in other countries too.

hey mate :) No Aurion also has this feature however and unfortunately unless you a Toyota IT handy you can do it yourself :( it's hidden away in the computer along with other things such as how dark or light it is before your Auto on headlamp come on. So you can have this feature turned on and from memory 15sec 30sec 45 sec or a minute. Mention it next time you get your Aurion serviced and I'm sure they can fix that up for you :) Thats what I thought so when I had a read throught the manual and found nothing about it...oh well atleast there is lots more to play with this car so im happy..will surely mention it to Toyota the next time im taking her to service :)..hopefully i find an IT guy at Toyota who knows the secret codes :P.. I hope this question has not been answered before but I did try doing a search but got no hits. Here it goes. On my Gen 4 camry I used to have an option where I can have my headlights to work for a certain period of time between 0-60 seconds (adjustable) after having the ignition turned off and door opened. Its called courtesy lights if I am not wrong. Very useful in the night when you park in a dark car port or street and walk up to a place. The car keeps the headlights shining for you and turn off when the set time reaches. I have tried reading the Aurion's manual but didnt find how to set this feature up. My question is, do we get this feature on Aurions or has it been discontinued by Toyota? Appreciate it you guys could tell me what you know. Cheers :)

Lifiting off slightly when you need the gear to shift has always worked in auto mode which i think most of us naturally do :)..

I admit I haven't tried this at the drags, so I don't have numbers. But after trying to go through the gears manually with my foot down, I've realised it takes longer then normal for the gear to change. I just feel that in Auto it changes not only faster but smoother. Only reason one would use the semi-auto would be to down gear from a certain speed and launch instantly, possibly to change lanes/overtaking?... then changing back to auto of course. yeah i have noticed the car shifts at its very best timings when in auto mode..but i have to admit the thing launches like a bullet when you have it on semi-auto locked to first gear..so that helps to get a good clear lead..then keep an eye on the revs and shift at the right time..while u at it do some throttle blipping to get that manual feeling if required :P ..

The throttle blipping procedure sure gives that manual effect and plus it feels like the car is shooting off the line..but i think i have to agree with you when it comes to a drag of the lights on auto mode, the car gets to the 100 quicker..but i havent done the sequential shifting with the foot planted to the floor, is it faster to the 100 than in auto mode?

I've tried that John! In 2008 while showing off my new corolla levin ZR with smart start keyless entry.. key in pocket, friend jumped in and drove away about 200mtrs. FAIL :D :D I shouldn't laugh but i pictured you standing there watching your new car leaving... Seems way to easy to steal I think..not good well imagine you have a car with normal keys in the ignition and the motor is running..if a thief gets in it and drives it away its the same thing..i think keyless or with a key its best not to leave the car running and go for a walk :P

haha mate i know that feeling..just floor it and wait for it and then just shift ;)..i had my sister at the back seat one day and she was like my head hurts stop doing that..there goes the stick back to D mode :P

Cheers guys..glad to know im not the only one doing it :)..yeah it seriously has a good effect and gives me that kick feeling of having pressed a clutch while shifting..to bad the car is very quiet so cant hear much of the action :)..

Good question mate...i have an Aurion ZR6 and this has the same keyless button start option that you have on your Presara..i actually had the same doubt and tried it out..i selected a road that is pretty much clear and gave it a go..the car does not turn off mate..it has a safety feature not to turn off while you are driving..i think you will need to have the car on P or not moving at all to be able to turn it off..i had the same concern as you because a kid in the front seat could do this someday..but Toyota has thought about it and built it safe..this answers your question i guess :)

i know this is slightly off the topic but since you guys are talking about gear shifts..wanted to ask you something.. when in sequential shift mode, when i am about to shift to the next gear while accelerating, i have this habit of quickly releasing the accelerator and then shifting to the gear up and then pressing on the acc pedal again as in how we do on a manual gearbox. I find it gives the closest feeling to a manual with a clutch and find the gear shifts much quicker without a delay because the engine is not reving to hard while shifting and the gearbox doesnt find it hard to shift..my question is..is this bad for the gearbox or alright? Let me know what you guys think :) Cheers

So yeah :) Hey I remember seeing your car on freeway one time. I think a saturday night a couple of months ago....I think on Mitchell/Kwinana Fwy going south. That was before I bought my new car. Anyway back to the topic, I noticed the clunk as well when selecting reverse after 20-30 secs from start up. But no clunk when stopping to switch to D on the street. I guess it is the ABS self check! hey you are probably the first person to spot me from the club :)..yup i go down the kwinana fwy south a lot of times as i live in atwell..so you got a 10' touring i see? nice ride mate :)..that clunk is pretty random and sometimes you barely hear it..wouldnt worry about it unless you see the ABS light on the dash :)..

I have a gen 4 camry..the MCV20R..its simply flawless..and the fuel consumption is pretty good making the 4 cyl version really not worth at all. Plus its a nice V6 to drive..although i have to admit a V6 camry can be used in a stupid way if you need to..dont undestimate it ;)

Even i got the same problem and in Perth..so if you guys manage to get it done do let me know. But i just found that its not only left..i find that if i drive on a super flat road it doesnt go to the left..and if i drive on a road that kerbs to the right instead of kerbing to left (normally), the car would go to the right..so its more like the car is sensitive to the road's kerbing or angle..regardless of left or right. The fact that it would very slightly go to right on right angled roads and left on left angled ones makes me feel like this is how the car is and not a fault..know what i mean? if it had only gone to left regardless of straight, left angled and right angled roads, then i would have felt like it was a defect...Its not a real big issue but would be nice if i can get toyota to do something about it on my next service :) Anyone in Perth managed to get it fixed by Toyota? Let me know.

I was just gonna ask you guys about the same clunk noise i get..and the answer was here..im sure i can hear it in the morning and pleased to know its normal..would be worried if i didnt get that noise :)
