  1. You will note that toyota have deleted the Bluetooth wording from the current Brochure. We kept our info pack from Toyota which said the Kluger has a "bluetooth compatible" radio. This was our position when dealing with warranty. One of the main reasons for buying the Kluger. Iphones pair ok, that's more than Toyota would say. Good luck
  2. Iphones pair with Toyota bluetooth quite well. toyota changed our head unit with out any change to Bluetooth pairing with Nokia phones. Head unit display would read " not available" But, I did download the latest software for my wifes Nokia, it now pairs quite well. My 6120 will not even with the a software upgrade. Iphones seem to be good all round mobiles anyway. I ended up buying a Tom Tom GPS with Bluetooth, it works. good luck Geoff
  3. we had a lot of trouble with the Nokia phones. Would pair sometimes, mostly not, just gave up. toyota didn't want to help except "maybe try some other mobiles"
  4. Hi, The Kluger Bluetooth is very substandard, we have an 09 model with similar problems, (nothing has changed in years) Toyota are unable to fix it. They blame the supplier. Look at past threads, all with the same problem with the bluetooth. Iphones are sometimes better. It's the software, they (Fujistsu)cannot keep up with the new phone technology. good luck.

    Auto Gear S5

    Hi John M, I tow a 1.8t van but use S4 only.
  6. Hi, I have used Valvoline 0-40 in the Kluger for about 18months. during this time we towed a 1650kg van to Darwin & back to Mildura, overall about 10,000k's. I'm sure the fuel economy improved while using the oil. We averaged about 16.5 L/100 towing and under 10 not towing with an AWD which consumes a bit more than the FWD. A bit expensive tho. I'm now looking at the Penrite oil which is Australian made, full synthetic, a bit cheaper as well, but only 5w-40 cheers Geoff
  7. hi, Safe maybe, but maybe not compliant with compliance plate on vehicle. Please check at your local tyre fitter. problem is if there is an accident the insurance may not cover.
  8. hi, both FWD & AWD have the whine, but, not all Klugers????????? Geoff
  9. Hi, Apparently effecting both FWD & AWD according to a Toyota service manager. So he thinks the noise (whine) is coming from the front transmission/diff. cheers
  10. Hi, My Kluger went in for the 50K service and check for the whine noise at 60 kph and above. The service manager identified the noise & said he had another 2 klugers like it. Mildura is managed by S.A. ( CMI) are doing nothing about it. Very poor warranty back up by Toyota. The noise only started at 40k, Toyota SA are saying it's just some harmonics in the front differential, nothing to worry about. It looks like I've bought my last Toyota if nothing is done. $56000.00 kluger that has a differential whine and nothing is done.................we'll see.

    New kluger purchase

buy mine if you like $35K with only 50,000 on the clock. cheers.
  12. mine is going in for the 50k service today all good except I'm having the transfer case whine checked out. KXS-09 AWD
  13. HI, go to page 3. 2 threads on this topic from last year. cheers

    Aircon problem

Hi, Yes once you start using manual buttons, the auto will turn off. Auto is just that, Auto, set the temperature and the climate control takes over, the fan speed etc will slow as the cabin temp reaches the set point. notice when you first start the Kluger? it will be on recycle air so it can cool the cabin down quickly, it's a factory setting. using the buttons is manual. Cheers
  15. If that doesn't work, try pushing MFD on steering wheel until u get the blank screen then hold down MFD button, time will appear then change time using buttons.

    tow capacities

Yes the Kluger is often referred to as a SOFT SUV. I agree, Toyota have a marketing plan with the tow capacities. I don't agree that the Commodores are like the Fords with regard to Tow capacities. Ford are way out in front. Why would you spend over $50,000.00 on a Kluger to tow when a cheaper Ford will do & tow more. Besides the "run out" price of a Pajero is cheaper than a Pado. With Towing in mind; Pajero=3000kg & Pado=2500kgs Geoff

    tow capacities

Hi, Can anyone explain how tow capacities are calculated? My KXS-AWD has a braked towing capacity of 2000Kg. How is it that a Ford sedan that is a much lighter vechicle has a braked towing capacity of 2300KG? Can the Kluger be beefed up to legally tow more weight like the Ford??? Any help appreciated. thanks Geoff
  18. suggest you google Sprint gas, they are in SE suburbs Melb they are very helpful with the info. cheers
  19. Hi, I can fit 65 litres of LPG in my tank when empty. It avarages approx 11.4 litres/100 kms highway use. So, who cares about how many Klugers are on LPG. I did mine because I do a huge amount of highway long distance travelling to save some money. I guess my outlay will give me a return fairly soon. I's up to the individual to decide what they want with LPG. Many vechile users are happy with petrol even though regular unleaded petrol is now E10, yes that's right. It's not advertised but regular unleaded is becoming E10 then you have a choice, E10 or Premium unleaded or LPG. Geoff
  20. Hi, we used Sprint gas injected system as they have branches Aust wide. Yes would do it again. A bit expensive @ $4000.00 with only $1250.00 rebate from Govt. Does not effect warranty as it is an alternative fuel, not modifying the engine in any way so how would it cause a warranty issue. Still under Toyota warranty with set price servicing. LPG servicing is seperate @ your cost. Filler goes in with petrol fill point. I'm saving $100.00 per trip compared to before with the same distance travelled on petrol. The only down side is the spare wheel must be removed to fit the tank, but a can of punture repair for around town is needed. How often do you get a flat tyre. If the LPG fitting is done properly you will not notice any power loss. Change over to petrol/gas is automatic and unnoticable. Geoff
  21. Hi, How loud is the whine??? Mine has a little but I thought it was natural after doing 40k
  22. Gas smell fixed, was a damaged "o" ring on one of the injectors. Kluger runs just as good on gas as petrol. On a trip to Renmark S.A. last Sunday, economy was 10.3L/100K travelling @ 110KPH. cheers
  23. Hi, I'm not an expert on your issues but take it back to the dealer. The turning noises may be something to do with being front wheel drive. The other issues may be a similar thing??? cheers. good luck
  24. Kangur1,

    hi,

Do you have any issues with the petrol fuel gauge when on gas??

    thanks

    Geoff
