  1. hey every1 just to confirm, after i have installed my k&n cai i've noticed serious drop in hp in the low rpm range and also when i reach around 4000rpm it sounds like air is escaping for like a fraction of a second... i've checked all my clamps, even tightened them so much i broke one :S i'm quite concerned bout this so would be nice if some1 could give me some pointers/help, etc. ie. This is the first time i've mechanically done something to my car and it seems my pre thoughts of $#@!ing it up is indeed becoming reality. :( thanks in advance
  2. yeh, i agree, ive been spending the last few weeks searching a place in the us that can ship it to the aus. I kinda gave up........ do you mind telling me where/whom you got it off? especially for that price.... i could only find it for $790 US. Its not through a company a guy that works for toyota over there he gets it pays for it himself then you pay him he's reliable. Friend of mine has used him a few times no problems. OMG no wonder.... say.... could i then get the exhaust through you, through him???(if that makes sense).... there'll be a bonus 4 you just don't tell "him"!!! haha ... btw i'm serious about getting this trd exhaust i've wasted so much time with emails, etc. chrs

  6. hey ingres, looks good... you could define it a bit more with not black but IMO some pearl white.... the red and white will mix well and kinda is the trd's colour.
  7. hehe, Id like to still keep it TOP SECRET for now lol.... What? Whats the movie called? I didnt know Malaysia makes movie with a car like mine... Whats the name? Its called "Initial D" and its awsome!!! considering you live in wa i could burn you a copy... btw not exactly sure if its in malaysian tho it has subtitles :) oh yeah one more thing.... it would be alot of work but IMO you should paint the engine bay all white... then it'll suit its immaculate exterior :)
  8. so.... mind sharing you TOP SECRET contacts? hahaha btw i have this asian subtitled movie that stars your exact car along with some romance... ps: ithink it could be in malaysian.... you'd love it hahah
  9. nar his jap friends steal this stuff then post it to him at discount prices!!..... lol just jj tho seems quite plausible for an 17 yr old asian student
  10. I agree.. I hope the next generation of Aurions have an AWD option. new generation??? doubt the'd change to awd otherwise camry's would also have to change to awd as aurions based on camry chasis/drive train
  11. i saw one the other day and boy is it ugly its like a nissan maxima.... these big ugly oval things.... but i love the 06 liberty just not the new one
  12. hi, does anyone know whether toyota offers installation of led footwell lights (ie. led's you bought off ebay, etc)???
  13. seem like you went for the cheaper option if worst comes to worst go hilux
  14. man your exhaust fit in perfectly ..... quite jealous actually
  15. anyone know a good place in perth?
  16. aww never knew there was a trd exhaust system available :(...maybe i will wait:)... is there anything you don't know about the aurion and stuff for it haha this would also be fine with warranty terms right? btw where would you go to purchase such exhaust system??
  17. hi, just thought i'd post my soon to be, very first mod :) I will be purchasing a pair of borla exhaust made to fit american toyota camry 3.5L 2007-on (which i BELEIVE will also fit my aurion) i found two places within australia that sell this straight bolt on exhaust system. The first link was the most expensive of the two: 1.http://www.bestexhaust.com.au/shop/product_info.php?currency=USD&cPath=78_97&products_id=182&osCsid=0jk64ijjivqdloqoikscg6b3t6 -----> $1,350.00 after some more searching... 2. http://www.cruisinon.ws/ situated in perth, (listed on borla site as the only australian borla dealer!)i had emailed them about the camry borla exhaust and they can order it in within 2 weeks for $1114.00 inc shipping but not local freight (but living in perth i'll just pick it up my self) :) IMO, yes it might be fairly expensive though having read all the fuss people (inc me) are having over getting the right size, shape, height position, sound, drone, tip look, etc....... then borla (unlike varex/magnaflow) being the quality exhaust it is ensures all this before hand and all you need to do is bolt it on... BTW prices may drop if systems are bought in groups.. I will post a before and after vid of the exhaust tone Next hopefully K&N air intake.. B) keep u posted J.ALonso
  18. hi there, I have the exact same problem i.e knock after moving off and slight wobbles. I told my dad about it before the next service was due, so then he went to toyota explaining it all and they told him it was simply the noise of the abs checking.... however reading this thread, i was defs that it was the shaft spline problem..i insisted dad to return but he wouldn't, saying "what you want toyota to make a car exactly for you", so i replied "well the hilux has abs too why doesn't it make that noise too" bam!!! Being only 17 yrs old i expected toyota to not take me seriously, though going in with a "not going to loose attitude" i came on top. In 4-5 weeks the parts coming from japan to repair the problem will arrive.... fingers crossed it works out.
  19. hi. Has anyone in perth resolved this problem?... if so could you post the shop you used. Considering toyota will be a total waist of time, i'm keen in purchasing the kit from fulcrum but not sure who to turn to in perth to install it "correctly" (and same goes for wheel alignment). thnx
  20. i think this guy actually has a point because how on earth did the back wheel come off in conjuction with the front!!
  21. Hi there, just as i took the engine cover off my aurion i found that there was a nipple without anything screwing into it. Here's some pics. Could anyone justify this? ..... ie in between the second and third sensor things! :)
  22. And also, you should do the paint in your city due to shipping risks. Some part of paints might get damaged on the way to aussie. Another reason why you shouldn't get it painted before you receive it is due to colour variance. Not every car is the exact same shade. By getting it painted locally, you can ensure that the colour is matched as close to your car as possible so the kit will fit in place without looking out of place. As for the strength of the Thai grills... nah, they can even handle some good flex :( On that topic of things, that front bumper sure can take a flexing. man how sad.. considering all the time you've spent on the car..... so what u gona drive now?
  23. hey.. do you drive a black zr6?? with plastic number plates?.... and go to uwa? if so nice car!
  24. What can you do? Of course there are going to be others that spend their money in ways which one wouldn't approve, but there is no need to have a go at them for it. Yes, I know I'm not performance minded and want to turn my car into the most powerful machine it can be, but that's just me. Why does there need to be a problem with that? Anyways, I don't see why this topic needs argument or negativity. I wouldn't say it fit perfectly as if it were perfectly when compared to the stock muffler. Make adjustments for it to fit? It was simply put up into the area where it was going to stay and then welded into place, pretty much like any aftermarket muffler would be. From looking underneath my aurion i can see that there is no way a varex can fit perfectly without welding a 90 degree elbow to the flanges!!!!! Please reassure me! :)
