out of curiosity, can you gain 10kw from just changing the oil, sparkplugs, and a retune? realistically what would be the gains for a stock rolla? lol

i was in the process of making fibreglass pods so that the speakers would be angled upwards, towards the ears of the ppl in the front seats. that process went on for far 2 long and got 2 damn complicated.. got annoyed that they werent in teh car already so scrapped the fibreglass podz and went with the easier, stealthier option of pulling out the stockiez and put the Punch'z in as a direct replacement. these were my mounts: took bout 15 mins to cut and join the 2 bits of wood together... all i did was trace the outline nad the hole placement from the original speakers on mdf and cut with power saw (the proper round speaker rings were bought for like 8-10 bucks off autobarn)left overnight to let the liquid nail wood glue to cure i used these funky fasteners to keep them in place.. think they were called scissor clips or something. not sure.. but they were screwed into the holes that the original speakers used if tehre is any vibration.. i dont notice it. they sound great when you play cdz.. though my stock hu has gone haywire and ive been stuck with AM/FM for the past few monthz coz no $$$ coming in coz im still in uni for the time being.

i dont know much bout headers since i havent got 1 installed (yet...) but werent his "headers from TRD" just the stock plastic pipes on a 1zz? thats where the air from the intake goes into the engine, right?

geez thats a tough call.. i still cant make the call over what id really like to drive... the freedom of a 4wd vs the compact fuel efficiency of a hatchback?!? really cant bare 2 part with either of em unless i can get the best of both worldz in 1 car (highly unlikely) edit: took this pic 2nite

Road & Track Magazines It comes as no surprise that Toyota has something up its sleeve int he mid-price range sports-car segment. As Nissan's 350z keeps rolling year after year with solid sales numbers and a growing fan base, Toyota has had no answer; the most sporting model in the current lineup is the TRD Tacoma pickups, as the company's sporting cars namely the Celica and Supra, are no longer around. But things may change dramatically very soon. As we reported several months ago, plans are under way for a new Supra. And we've discovered thatthe new Supra has the makings of something very special. Toyota is pulling no punches with this car. Simply put, it plans to take over the mid-price sports-car segment. The new Supra which we predict will go on sale in early 2008, will be powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V-6 (2GR-FSE in the GS350) The specially tuned version of this all-aluminum powerplant is expected to produce 350bhp at 7000 rpm and about 290 lb-ft of torque at 5000. Combine this with a curb weight of about 3200 lb, and you have a car that could run to 60 mph in the mid-4.0 secs. making it quicker than the current 350z. There is still the possibility that Toyota will jam its 4.3 liter V-8 into the engine bay, but not until later in its life cycle. The V-6 may come mated to a twin-clutch 6-speed manual transmission like the DSG used in the Audi and Volkswagon. Because the Supra will be built on the current Lexus IS platform, it will no doubt come with the same basic suspension setup upper and lower A-arms up rear. However, we hear that Toyota engineers are busy tuning it to handle with the best sports cars in Europe. The new Supra is experted to come in both coupe and convertible versions or perhaps as a retractable hardtop, with the price tag under that of the 350z. Think of it; a new sports-car priced in the low-$30,000 range with the handling and power-to-weight ratio of a car-and with Toyota reputation. It's a car that'll grab the attention of any enthusiast. yea great 2 meet every1 i got 2 talk 2 at the meet! my hands have been full with uni, family n work commitmentz so its impossable for me to be there though i wish i was. maybe if theres another national meet next year (PROVIDED EVERYONE HASNT TRADED THEIR TOYOTAZ IN FOR SOMETHING ELSE).. ill be able to make the meetz.. maybe even compete in 1 of the compz lol probly not.. but yea.. if theres a top DIY category then id be up 4 that lol great to be able to put faces to nicknamez in here :) hope every1 had a safe trip ay?! i cannot believe that website is still up! i went to toyota penrith asking bout the stuff theyve got on the website... the guy who served me said "Oh no... what this about?" that website hasnt been touched in yonks. he said they were still "trying" to take the website offline coz they dont sell that stuff anymore! imported bodykits etc... it sucks but yea. maybe they have the carbon fibre engine cover still... but yea. project corolla is long gone

foxtel iq does the same thing if im not mistaken. if you have the cable foxtel like we do in my place, you still get access to 2,7,9,10,sbs through the set top box, although 10 and 7 havent reached an agreement with foxtel to display their high def programming so yo cant view their programs in the program guide. 7 probebly wont ever do it coz they got this tivo agreement going on... all this crap is leading to TOO MANY BOXES SITTING AROUND MY TV! vhs, dvd, dvd recorder, foxtel, hd set top box, surround sound amp.. not to mention ps2 and xbox360, ps3, wii... now tivo. (no im not literally saying this is all around my own tv. just saying how much crap there is out there and theres not enough AV inputs or space 2 house this stuff). they dont make tv cabinets to house all this sh!te. hopefully this will go down the same path as XM radio and the other digital set top boxes that are now become useless technologiez in australia. you couldnt sell set top boxes to cash converters anymore.. they just dont sell!

there have been documentaries on the history and discovery channels about exactly WHAT HAPPENED when those planes hit those buildings. bombs in the towers? makes little sense since you would think that 2 passenger airplanes would do the job!? yes, the buildings were built to be stable and withstand a lot of pressure and could possibly stand the force of a plane crashing into it. but think of it this way... example: the worlds strongest man can easily lift 150kgz over his head, but he cant hold it up forever. hed either have to drop the weight or be flattened for keeping it up for too long. look at the size of those planes... full of passengers, cargo, jet fuel etc. would you seriously think ANY modern building can continue to stand up to the pressures of heat from the fire which lasted for that length of time, the force of the impact of the crash, the weight of the planes wreckage PLUS with the weight of the floors of the building that were above the holes those planes made into those buildings?? kinda still hard to believe this happened almost 6 years ago already... so many more have died goign to war supposedly to get the people who were responsible for 9/11.. its not even bout binladen or 9/11 anymore.. none of it is right

another question bout the amp board. how easy is it to remove/install when you actually need the spare tyre?

seems like a lot of work? seems like more of a time saver to just get a capacitor. if the cap stops the lights dimming when the music is pumping.. then its worth it. the response/jaycar type caps are cheaper on ebay. check em out if you plan on going that way. also wondering what would solve the lights dimming when you press the automatic window switches at night

damn i should have thought of that with my two amps! awesome work dude! 10/10 for perfect stealth... but are the fans necessary? just curious coz i was thinking airvents or mesh through the floorboards/carpet would do the job too. so the board the amps sit on are just laying on top of the spare? you didnt have to remove the rod that keeps the tyre from moving round? what thickness was the board you to lay the amps on? hope you dont mind but ima have to do this on my conquest once i got the time n cash to buy more cables! lol!

theres a van that ive seen for a few years being driven round my area... it has those flowers airbrushed all over the sides of the car and the artist actually went as far as adding his signature on the ***** of the van lol! always wondered what the hell do flowers (though they are beautiful in their own right) have to do with automobilez??? theyre just as bad as those stick on bullet holes. feel like denting the car in the spot where the sticker is just to make it look more realistic

im pretty sure ive seen these pics a long time ago... think back even a 3 years back, it would have been cool to add loud vinyl and all that rice for that 'fast n furious' look. so yea... what may have been cool then may look cheap n tacky now. kinda like hairstylez that go in and out of fashion....

i was completely happy with my setup when i only added a sub. ignorance is bliss sometimes. if you dont know what you are missing out on by upgrading your sound system then you can save yourself a whole bunch of money by leaving the stockies installed. so yea as i said b4, just go with what you are happy with b4 you decide what you can afford/what you want 2 do. not like were gonna try 2 enter autosalon for the best car audio or something like that?! im thinking bout the bigger picture here... since i have no money for anything for the car these dayz... got me thinking that a lot of us are buying stuff that we really could do without... thats all i wanna say bout that really. if your stock speakers work, no sense in replacing them. if it aint broke, dont fix it.
