  1. check http://www.jaycar.com.au .

theyve got tweeters galore you can buy and add them to your existing system!

heres 1 description of the tweeters i just looked at on there :

    CAT. NO. CS2210

    Super Car Tweeters - Pair

    QTY

    1+ $45.00

    2+ $40.45

    4+ $35.95

Top quality tweeters, made by a specialist manufacturer. Mount these tweeters in the front, either on the doors, or near the dash to give sound systems a good staging effect. They can simply be added to an existing system with a 3.3uF capacitor connected in series. They will then work from about 10kHz upwards. They can be crossed over lower but power handling is affected. They have an extremely flat response and are extremely versatile in their mounting arrangement. There are two bases - one flat and one angled at 45°. Simply mount one of the bases and clip in the tweeter in one of three different angles. Ideal for mounting on doors, panels, near dash, on rear parcel shelf or virtually anywhere. Beware of low priced Chinese made tweeters that may look similar.

    Specifications:- System Power: 40WRMS (with 3.3uF x'over cap)- Freq Response: 3kHz-20kHz - Sensitivity: 93dB 1W/1M- Optimum X'over Point: 10kHz - Magnet: Neodymium- Tweeter Direction: 360° - Dimensions 50mm dia, 30mm height at rear - flat base.

    need a crossover too?

    CAT. NO. CX2640

    Super Car Tweeter Crossover

    QTY

    1+ $11.95

    2+ $10.70

    4+ $9.50

These crossovers are designed for Super Car Tweeters or most super tweeters. It consists of a 3.3uF capacitor and a 0.10mH inductor mounted in a small plastic case with leads attached.

    - Crossover point 10Khz 12dB/oct

    - Case size 44(L) x 25(W) x 21(H)mm.

  2. i like the mt druitt guys that Miss Sexc CROlla said... they give free coffee coupons for gloria jeans too! (doesnt include my fave mocha chillas though, hmph! :/ )

i pay a lil more to get the inside vaccumed and dusted n alwaYS turns out better than what i can do at home.

other than that, its either CARe wash @ mt druitt near 7elevens but id rather go to BAYWASH in kings langley sunnyholt rd.

even though it may be recycled water, im not driving a show car, so im not fussed with it... good enough for me! plus they got this wax that the mtdruitt carewash doent have.

and at the end, even if i forget my chamois cloth, i can just drive up the road and do a quick run down the m7 @ 100-110km/h back to my place to get the drips off :) haha

  3. If I managed to get my hands on a set of those triangular panels (e.g. from a wreckers) from a corolla that has "a 6 speaker sound system" (in other words just the tweeters included with a mounting point on the triangular panels), would after-market tweeters fit in those factory mounting points???

    id say yes...

since every tweeter that ive seen up close has been more or less the same size.

the tutorial i was reading up on suggested asking places like strathfield if they had any extra mounts lying around if you dont have any..

    DSCF1406e.jpgDSCF1405e.jpg

this is where im planning to place the speakers. in this pic i just used blutack to check out how itll look.. havent tested out the speakerz yet!

i found a tutorial online that shows how to modify the tweeter to join that door panel to make them 1 peice.

    357004_86_full.jpg

see this tutorial was where they put the tweeter in the pillar...

    357004_90_full.jpg

and in this pic you can see theres 1 on that triangular panel as well as the a pillar... not sure what i should do.

is this where you place your tweeters?

  5. jase u stalking people now??????

just leave a spotted card on his windscreen and be done with the spotting then just wait for him to join....i'll drop some to ur shop during the week i have a few black and white ones left.

hey mish if im a stalker than that makes ALL of us guilty of the same thing! :P

  6. 14/1/07

spotted MONSTER black corolla with black altezzas parked outside a house in Woodcroft.

not sure if he lives there or not.. spotted this rolla b4...

has twin exhausts in the back.. not sure what bodykit it is though.

i have a pic of it in my mobile, will post up later.

    Thats peter!

He has the booster kit on his car!

    no i don tthink so.

i met peter and took a good look at his kit at the first monthly meet i went to last year...

i think i remmber him saying he didnt like the aftermarket tail lights... this rolla has them on.

ive seen this monsta car round b4 and its an asian driver, and the kit on the back doesnt have that panel on the back hatch door that makes the bumper look fatter... love peters rear hatch door, but me thinks it looks slightly different to his rolla :P

but no im pretty sure that wasnt peter.

    heres the pic.

suprised this dude doesnt seem to be on our forums yet

  7. i couldnt be bothered removing all the rice ive added to my conquest, id rather go to the trouble of adding a 6speed so i got an extra gear 2 play with hahahaha!

other than that, (going on another tangent) regardless of how much it would cost, is it at all possible to install sportivo engine, trans, etc into a non stivo??

im guessing thats a stupid question, but is there anything in the 1zz that would prevent a successful 2zz conversion?

No offence mate but I think ur wasting ur money wen u could spend the same amount n upgrade to a Sportivo. But hey its ur car n ur money so fair enough. In my humble opinion if u wanna spend the money and are lazy do wat CORZZA did n find a good car dealer that will trade ur car in for a sportivo in transfer ur mods for u. ;) :) :D

    http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...ic=7270&hl=

hahaha guess corzza got lucky there!

na im happy enough with my 1zz anywayz...

    just thinking hypotheticalz thats all.

  8. geez after all this time, if it only costs like 3 bucks more then whats the problem ? pay the lil bit extra..

the reason i decided to recieve mine together with yours is so i could save a couple bucks!

    haha

im just gonna be thankful i got em.. even though its taken this long

  9. yea ive been thinking bout ppl stealing the speakers etc...

but it would be nice to see how well the speakers would sound when they are directed more towardz me ears u know?

but yea itll be a lot easier if i just kept em stealth, easy DIY job and no damn fibreglass to mix. yea ive fibreglassed before but its one thing to make a fibreglass box that you can take out and remove cleanly, compared to making a pod thats stuck onto the stock door panelz...

  12. yea i been tossing up between keeping it stealth and making/buying the fibreglass pods but im not so sure about how well a pod is going to stick to the rest of the stock door.

im sure theres a proper way to do it but yea, ill research my options b4 i decide to go the easier stealth stock replacement option.

the speakers i got look good! would be a waste of a decent looking grill to be hidden away by the stock stuff.

ive done fibreglassing b4 - made my own sub box for my 8"kicker solobaric :)

  13. im just wondering how you ppl have upgraded your speakers on your front doors?

the logic im goin by is that if your upgrading your speakers, it only makes sense that you want to show em off a bit instead of hiding behind the plastic grille of the stock speakers, so what have you guys done to modify your car doors so you can see the upgraded speakers?

if you did it yourself, would be great if you could provide some advice?

i want to keep my doors relatively stock looking except for the new speakers i got, so im guessing that im gonna have to cut off the grille that covers the stock speaker and fabricate a mount thatll point the speaker more towards my head.

anyone done this kinda job or had custom job done by jbhifi or something?

    pics would help?!?

im not gonna pay someone else to do it for me so ima need some ideas to guide this project.

    thankz in advance

  14. ive read in some car magazines that CAI filters have to be boxed in order to be legal (here in NSW anyway - have i been misinformed?).

so what your thinking about has been done b4 and it may or may not be better than the regular panel filter.

my guess is that it simply wouldnt perform as well as installing a CAI.

i was bout to modify my intake pipe to improve airflow but so many ppl in here keep raving bout CAI that decided im not gonna mess with the intake (besides the K+N panel filter i got 4 free) unless i got the $$$ for a decent CAI.

but yea if this mod turns out 2 perform as well as a normal CAI then id probebly follow your lead.

    good luck with it!

  15. a few of us sydney guys has been waiting for a few months.. i think.. or maybe a couple...

    anyway...

    jan is finishing soon...

    sb.. some news plzzzzzz

i think JJCRU23R and YDOIT4 4got about this GB already.. LOL

    AS IF ID 4GET AY?

    hahahaha!

i pmd sb bout this last week!?! (i think it was last week?!)

but yea weve been waiting for months already... whats another week ? or another week after that?

if you stop checking up this thread 3 times a day, every single day (like i have) , then youll feel a whole lot more happier the moment SB says "your cooling panel has been sent!"

but yea im still waiting 4 my frikken cooling panel!

  16. seems that the only 2 options you have is the a pillar or on top of the dash?

unless you wanna hack away at the storage space above the ashtray and stick them there.

i saw someone on the forums install gauges in a 1din space just above (or was it below) their aftermarket stereo? it was all 1 peice and fit in the 1 din space.

  17. gday TOCAU,

my internet at home is currently with a small company called EMPCOM.

When i joined with them, my monthly internet started at $25 to $35 depending on usage. (depended on if i went over 1gig or not). this was on 256kbps/64kbps. slow for adsl standards but as long as its broadband, the wife is happy.

the $35 gives me a maximum of bout 5gigs per month.

internet use has been solid - no disconnections or disruptions of any kind, although i would have to email them to find out exactly how many gigs i am using each month. with telstra, you can find out pretty easily, but with empcom it was pretty difficult. so basically its a no frills internet service, but its gonna get expensive now!

my plan has already increased in price to a minimum of $35-$55/month since i joined, but luckily my contract with them means i still only pay a minimum of $25 until april when my contract expires.

i recieved an email late last year saying they will increase their prices even further, so im on the look out for another ISP that would give me a fair price on whats probebly the slowest speed of adsl you can get.

so if you are using a reliable isp that offers a fair price on ADSL, if you can recommend them here please?!?

they would have to service western sydney though.

    thanks for your help.

    jase
