  1. Jase there's no screw in my glovebox???

there is a screw in mine?!

my usb cables r chewed - so only pics i can share atm is from my mobile.

if you were to open your passenger door, open your glove box and hunker down for a better look, you would most probebly see the pic ive just taken from my car.

    screw.jpg

its on a plastic hinge thing... its not IN the glove box, its along the side of it.

  2. i could use one of those ipod connectionz... how much did it cost??

ive taken out my stock head unit several times... doesnt have a security code on it... i didnt experience any difficulties whatsoever.

only realised that there MIGHT be a problem only after i took out the head unit the first time, so shouldnt be a worry.

i dont remember having to disconnect the battery 2 do that.. just as long as you dont have your car running while youre trying to take it out hahaha!

but yea, in general dont keep the key in the ignition if yourgonna do work on the car..

yea.. in this case i think its safe to leave the batt. on.

i could be wrong - forum please tell me if i am, but in my personal experience i havent had 2 take off the battery connnections to do a small job like that.

oh yea, you may want to check behind the glove box for the extra space you are looking for.

the glove box is easy to take out. there should only be one screw in the way of you litterally pulling the glovebox off its hinges. just the right pulling pressure would cause the glove box to SNAP off. to put the box back, simply snap it back on, replace the screw.

  3. I um.. I was just curious coz i saw DBA 4wd slotted break rotors for $129 in the supercheap auto catalogue.

its a "direct replacement" guess by that they mean its bolt on with no modifications required.

just wondering if it would mean the same thing if i bought these for my corolla.

    just took a look at it again - 129 EACH... so x4 = 516??

RME1 of course my wife isnt gonna agree! we supposed 2 be saving!

Aussiecamry - its not really for looks, id rather slow down better than i speed up :P and yea with my wife and kid in the car, i dont wanna take any risks.

but my car is due for service soon so whether i like it or not, $$$ out my pockets.

  4. interested in upgrading my breaks.

since ive had no previous experience in anything to do with the breaks, i would like to know:

    what particular brands are best?

    how much?

where to get them? (sydney area)

easy DIY install or does it require a mechanic?

    thanks

    jase

  5. nice one raptor,

but arent both pics the same? would be nice to see it installed mate :P

anyway, i gotta make it possible to house the crossovers on the pod as well. - YES TAYLES THE TRIANGLES ARE CROSSOVERS :P

kinda tired after the time it took to install the 2nd sub for these speakers... it involved removing both front seats to get the wiring across since the amps are sitting beneith the front seats.

flaming hot 2day where i am in good old blacktown...

would be nice2 go 4 a swim but we got no pool...

should have a toca pool party... whos got a pool?????

  6. that sucks i spent all of this morning installing the second amp and bought 2 inline fuses for 9.95 each...

now yall say i didnt really need them!? hmph!!

well i havent hooked up my RF punches into the 2nd amp yet since i havent completed the pods, but maybe tonight im gonna test em out 2 see how it sounds FINALLY..

but yea, with all the wiring done, the amps are both showing green lights and the sub is working as normal so im guessing the install of the distribution block and the new wiring has been a success.

  7. avalanche kinda crappy with connections but it has survived bout 3+ years in my old landcruiser, mounted on 2x 10" subs, and if you knew me when i was driving that beast youd know i ruff i drove in that mfcuker. then it powered my kicker in my corolla for a few months, b4 i luckily found the kicker amp in parra cash converters for 35% of full retail price just down the street @ jbhifi :P

wiring is a b!tch of a hassle, but is solid proof that it can withstand a beating :)

u want me 2 get 2 more fuses??? same as the 1 coming from the battery?

shoulda just bought the distribution block that also houses the fuses!

the plastic inline fuses are like 12.95 each... the distribution block was 15.95.

the distribution block with the fuses was like 25-27!?!

ugh..... as ugly betty says - "you do the math!"

once again screwed outta a few more dollars

  8. yep i bought the 4gauge cable and ran it through the firewall already.

was already in full swing of wiring up the amps when my parents wanted to go get surf n turf...

so yea i ran outta sunlight and now my 2 front seats are sitting in the garage 2night... NOT A gOOD FEELING.

kinda stuff always happens 2 me... anyhoo.. i need some connector bits and peices to connect that 4 guage to the battery coz at the moment i havent got anything to keep the wires in place.

i saw the battery clamp thingys that accomodate the 4guage + a couble 8 guages to boot.

but yea gotta put at least the drivers door back on b4 i can get to the shops...

so yea shopping list is as follows:

*remote wire (maybe).. speaker wires will be ok substitute for this, right?? im planning to connect remote wires from both amps together at somewhere in line. if the speaker cables work, i wont need to buy another cable.

*fork shaped wire connectors for the 2nd amp.. this 2nd amp cant seem to handle 8 gauge wires without the fork connectors...

*connectors for the 4guage cable into the (+) battery.

    ROLLA2amps.jpg

  9. TODAY AND yesterday -

    rollaz everywhere!?!

only 1 i can really remember was a silver rolla prefacelift yesterday at UWS kingswood campus near U building with black aftermarket lights, front and sideskirts, notsure whether it was sportivo or not.

TRD badging on eyelids and i think on grille.

  10. yea d_ice that pic makes more sense... really isnt much of a big deal to relocate the amp.

plus weight distribution is more even.. hold up the amp would still weigh it down more on the left side.

but yea anyhow his box wouldnt fall as far down, and would be much easier to build a square box than the irregular shapes on my drawing. wood wont cost that much - why not just go4it!

im still in uni and i got a wife n kid already and i still manage 2 find money SOMEWHERE for this sorta crap :P do it!

oh yea d_ice - measure twice cut once ay? thats some good advice there! :P

  11. The stock players have a rather sensitive laser assembly, one knock too many and :( well, on the non-mp3 single discs versions i've owned anyway.

Since its acting up why not upgrade to a new HU?

Shameless plug on my own gear but its free install if your're in melb so why not?

YEA Its a single cd, no mp3 HU.

im kinda thinking if a cd cant even read, what are the chances of a cd cleaner managing 2 do the job if it wouldnt even read that!?

if its gonna be a case of replacing the stocky then... ARGH! dont even want to think about what i need 2 do to fit an aftermarket deck in there...i mean i know what i gotta do already since ive taken out the stereo several times... (instructions found in the forums sumwhere)...but things arent meant to just break down like this!

    giving me the shiets.
