  1. Ahhh my next car :) Only problems overseas is mismatching paint on some surfaces. Problems now rectified.
  2. Kcorro is working o/seas now
  3. BMC drop in Airfilter + Remus rear muffler :D
  4. 1zz's should be a different story though...
  5. I changed to Castrol Syntrax on the last service (75W90 as per manual) and when cold or just cruising around town it feels more notchy than before. It's only when its hot that it seems more fluid and the shifter is happier to move. I'm going to change back to the Toyota Recommended oil at the next service, just doesn't feel right.
  6. When it comes to posting the results on this test, can we lock the thread so we have the findings/results only and not spoilt by unconstructive comments.
  7. That Intake is much too long, amongst other things wrong with it. Don't flame me, but IMO even the current crop of CAI's (Injen, AEM, TRD CES etc) are bordering on too long for a crisp throttle response. Where they benefit is from their capacity for cooler/larger air volume. But in my opinion a properly shielded and ventilated SRI is still the goods. Ok flame away now .... :P
  8. If you've never used a spray-gun before, don't do it. Plus if you don't have one and a compressor, by the time you hire one, purchase the paint, thinner, etc it's cost you just as much as just getting it done at a panel shop which will do a better job because of their experience. But if you have all the equipment and used it before, go for it.
  9. i have a front strut and rear swaybar too and yea i do hear noises from the from like a clicking noise when i take off and say when i go in and out of driveways and going over speeedhumps, i hear a clunk or metal to metal noise. i havent retighten the bolts since i installed it but might get around to doing it in my own time. Yes that's simply the rear sway bar bolts that need to be tighted, as I said, next time the car's in for service, just have them loosen then tighten the bolts with a rattle gun. It won't come back again.
  10. This is the dumbest question I've ever seen asked here.... But my Answer is... YES But Jennifer Love-Hewitt still does it for me too.
  11. That's the same problem I have with the Penrite 10 tenths (75W-90) . It's Brilliant when the box is hot, ie on the track and through the twisties when I use lift, but for normal driving it doesn't seem to get hot enough (most noticable changing into 2nd and 3rd). I cannot fault the stuff on the track as it takes a hammering and still performs, but for everyday driving it just doesn't feel right. Same with me - Castrol Syntrax 75W90 (Grade as recommended in manual) Feels extremely notchy, particularly the 2-3 shifts unless the gearbox is hotter than normal driving around town allows... Thinking of dropping the oil after only 5000km's. Feels quite smooth and quick when it's very hot, but that's hardly ever these days for me.
  12. Exactly :D Although I've also seen a clapped out 1982 Mazda 323 do this on it's own in a workshop, so much fuel and oil was passing through unburnt to the exhaust it was a permanent flame thrower :o :D
  13. It works with a Spark Plug (powered by its own coil) about 10-20cm from the tip. When you accelerate and activate the Spark Plug with a switch, the Plug ignites the gases exiting the exhaust. I've seen a Valiant Ute that had twin stacks and this sort of system installed, quite funny.
  14. Lucio_Libre had the apollo which is a shielded pod. The Typhoon is different it's a Short Ram type intake with Tube and Pod.
  15. Petrol is a finite resource so it's only going to get more expensive as time goes on. Forget about it ever going back to a $1/L or below, we need to learn to live with it, the same way the europeans have ( who currently pay around the 1.35 EURO Compared to other parts of the world, we're still quite cheap.
  16. goodboys -- u got a rear sway bar? do u also have an exhaust? sometimes they may clang when taking a corner hard .. happens on my mates evo4 yeah i got the rear sway.. just put back my stock exhaust .. the rattle sounds like its behind the dash.. i thought it was my modified cables.. toyota said it was my sway bar/strut bar.. u reckon its bc i havent got the spacers? rattles when im cruising on 3,000rpm.. very noticable when stereo is off. Is the front strut bar touching anything ? Throttle cable maybe? The rear sway bar will 'clang' if it's not tightened enough ( Remember it's metal on metal so any bit of movement and it will make noise ) The two rear sway bar bolts need to be tightened with alot of torque. The best thing to do is have toyota remove the bolts and then put them back on with a rattle gun.
  17. It's too long. Completely remove the stock snorkle, and cut the new pipe you have down so it runs from the airbox to behind or below the headlight.
  18. There is but honestly it would sound shiete! Rollamods' suggested system above would sound (and work) better than just a cannon on the back and would cost the same. Just my 2c
  19. Polished rim with a dark centre ( Black, Charcoal or Gunmetal ) would look awesome...
  20. Nice Melbournians... We've seen Dyno days 1 & 2 We've had Melbourne drag day Winton Track Day too... Do I hear Skid Pan Day??? just an idea... :)
  21. Seeing I've been a Melbourne member here for much longer than most, organised some good meets/cruises in the days when I had more time on my hands, and I like to think I've been able to provide some useful info to others it's time for my 5c worth LETS MAKE SOME THINGS CLEAR. 1. There is no State of Origin Melbourne v Brisbane hatred. In fact I often exchange ideas with many from up North, and vice-versa, as do many others. If people (Myself Included) get upset with the action of others, it's with those individuals only and not with the entire friggin state and everyone in it, or every product endorsed by or coming from the state. We will also remember that Danthuyer's snowflake came to be because of the assistance from Peekay and Ilivfor6, who when Sportivo owners, spent their own big hours and dollars to make their cars clearly quick and inspired many to unlock some potential and pointed many to available possibilities. 2. I've said this before, but I'll say it again. I and many others Queenslanders/Victorians alike have nothing against CES and their products, I haven't tried them so they may actually be good things. HOWEVER the consensus is that the problem has been the manner in which these products have been promoted on this forum, particularly in the last week. Alot of younger people new to tuning their own car turn to forums such as this as a resource centre to learn what works. In my eyes and what really irritated me, was that the way the CES "Information" was pinned and promoted on the forum, a new comer would have seen it and immediately thought that the CES products would be the only suitable parts for their car as endorsed by the members and forum. When in fact, CES is only one of many different and good options as Motoman, Negatron, Bangn, Rollamods et al have been making a point of. Yes there are many different option on the market that suit people's differing needs and budgets, It's important as an open forum to make this clear. Fair is Fair 3. Let's be fair and equitable. Everyone has a right to an opinion, everyone has a right to give info on and even endorse something they have purchased and tried for themselves, but trader advertising without going through the correct procedure of payment is not on. Peace
  22. So can I ask... Is the insurance Co going to write it off, pay you out for the insured sum and then you're going to buy the car back from the Insurance Co as a wreck ?
