  1. It's telling you to let the car warm up before hitting high revs.
  2. $10,000 and that's all they did... What a waste.
  3. So obviously then they knew about all the clutch problems you guys were having earlier on. <_< "What clutch problem, we've heard of no such issue"
  4. So are we saying that if the tuner goes for a more conservative tune, you're less likely to get problems with the OEM ecu overriding the Piggyback settings?
  5. We all use Dyno Dynamics. You can't look at Lucio's car and make that comment, as stated before, a number of other changes have been made to the car as well as the CES exhaust. Also what the peak power numbers don't show is that Lucio's car has significantly more urge down low than before. The same intake that is perhaps restricting the car up high, is also giving it more torque down low, where Lucio wants the power and where it's most needed. No doubt the exhaust system has added to this too. A good example is the two Astra turbo's, John's stock and Shane's modified ones. They showed almost identical peak power, BUT Shanes hit peak power 2000 rpm earlier! and stayed there over a spread of about 2500rpm, meaning out on the road, Shanes modded Astra would absolutely eat up John's. Peak figures don't mean much unless you look at the whole picture.
  6. I've still got to load up that coke can photo :P And no lets not all get hot under the collar and get into the same arguements again, I'll repeat, lets not compare results from Dyno to Dyno, especially from one side of Australia to the other. Peace :D The few photo's I have should be up tonight, surely someone else had a Camera :o
  7. So stock sportivo's in Brisbane on Average have more power?, cool, I'm buying my next car from the sunshine state. The Dyno's up there which have had results recorded on this forum generally show higher numbers. As you of all people would know, you can't compare one Dyno to another, especially when they're entire continent away! Which brings me to my point, if you guys were to run on the same Dyno as we have down here, your figures would most likely be lower than what you've recorded at the CES Dyno. If most Sportivo's here with a CAI are pulling around the 111kw mark, How do you explain that exact same model car with exact same mods are pulling around the 115 mark in Brisbane? Because they're just better? hmmm. <_<
  8. Check www.realestate.com.au to see house prices. General hours of work are 38-40 hours per week, most trades seem to also do Saturdays so say between 38 and 45 hours per week.
  9. It's not a refined Mercedes-Benz, so you will get small vibration/noise etc. But how harsh is this Vibration when you accelerate? Is the whole car shaking your fillings out or is it just a slight vibration?
  10. It's cheaper because it's used. When you buy a new car, you pay more because the car will only have 25km on the odometer not 25,000km. For example. My Car new in 2003 cost me $24,400 (with a few options) My Car now exactly 3 years old with only 32,000km's and well looked after is probably worth only $18,000 because it's used. So if a new 06 retails for $25,000, you can pick up a near new 05 with say under 10,000km's for around $21,000.
  11. I think if the Brisbane cars came down to Melbourne the outputs would be lower, because looking at previous results of all Dyno days so far and comparing stock to stock, it seems that all cars on average Sportivo or not, seem to get higher figures the further up North you go. Different environments will do different things to outputs.
  12. Where? I edited my original results post on the previous page

  14. It was a great day, thankyou to all who showed up, we had a great mix of cars which made things entertaining and our friends from Opel Aust were able to disable the traction control this time to show us the true outputs of the Astra turbo's. The full day's results are being e-mailed to me at present so I will post them up as soon as I have them ( I had to leave at around 2.00 so anyone after that I didn't get, but it's all recorded by NT and will be e-mailed to me soon). Some results were suprising, but before anyone states Omn1potent was using fuel additive I can verify that he didn't Pics will be up later on too.
  15. :P Standard excess Remember your insurance also will vary according to your postcode and whether it's garaged or not, so obviously I live in what's considered a low risk suburb when it comes to vehicle theft.
  16. And Just Cars are actually underwritten by AAMI, so you'll find for over 25's their policies are the same.
  17. I'm 28, never any driving offenses and never any claims, so it really doesn't compare. I've just renewed my policy AAMI, $550 Full comprehensive and no limitations on mods provided they're legal (So everything I've done is listed on my policy), but because the car is modified, if an under 25 year old driver has an accident in it, I'm not covered. Insurance is expensive for young drivers. When I first got my licence I went through OAMPS insurance brokers and they did a good rate for me.
  18. yer but you're old :P Where's the respect these days
  19. I've tried some tests and I've found that driving like Grandpa (keeping upshifts at or below 3000rpm) and driving normally give very little difference to consumption. I've found it's more impacted by how much A/C you use, and where you drive (How many hills to you go up/down).
  20. Working in a trade you'll have no problem with employment or even self employment Also what may be good as a reference are job sites. www.mycareer.com.au www.seek.com.au To give you a good idea of what work is out here for you and how much you can expect to be paid. Cheers
  21. I'm a bit of a Anti body kit/spoiler person, if it doesn't actually have any aerodynamic purpose, it's just extra weight :D. If you look at buddha's garage/gallery you'll see a pic of how we have the fog light switch mounted, we've put it in place of coin holder next to the electric mirror control.
