  1. i'm normally aroudns 520kms with 10L left in the tank....how much do u have left to average 600kms!!?? ....So the fuel light is going bezerk? No, on average I'll get to 600km when the fuel light goes on, with mixed driving... I guess most have a heavier foot than I. ...but.....but Neutral is my favourite gear! $_$ ...i'm in 5th by 60km That probably works against you. Sometimes making the engine labour slightly in higher gears at lower speeds can actually increase consumption as well even though you're using less rpm and the engine still seems to pull. I tried that found I was going backwards in terms of consumption. Keep it in 4th until up to and over 75km/h
  2. It's only 20min to the Meet point... I'll be there.

  4. I've done that on the 1zz's smaller 55lt tank, but mostly average 600.
  5. You can try and remove it, BUT you may get the engine check warning light come on.
  6. Interesting, but with all the Dyno Runs we've done here across the nation, we know the loss is about 20% on average. So Corolla 2zz-ge 141kw x 0.80 = 112kw Corolla 1zz-fe 100kw x 0.80 = 80kw Although it's true that some manufacturers will understate power figures for marketing reasons, I don't think it's the case here. Also, if the original 100kw figure was understated, when the engine was fitted with tighter emission controls lowering output, Toyota would still have advertised the car as 100kw, not 93kw, because the original figure was understated... But they didn't, meaning the original figure wasn't understated.
  7. + removing the cat also results in more cancer causing carcinogenic gases releasing into the atmosphere, no thanks.
  8. Well done guys, excellent results there, looked like alot of fun too. Please keep us informed of any future ones you organise Silas. Cheers
  9. Relax, that's why they have a look, to see some real opinions, so your comments will lead to improvements in future models. But if you're revving your engine to 9000rpm and it fails, don't expect to be covered under warranty.
  10. That's right because is always your fault Lucio :P
  11. Save your money and purchase a Gernie. Stainless steel pump and internals never sh!t themselves. Even Karcher use some plastic internals and does not last as long as a Gernie. If you get a Gernie for around the home, it will last forever.
  12. mmmh....personally i prefer to replace it with a metallic sport cat (100 cells) and u increase performances and take a better sound. A question for you: in U.S.A. is it allowed to remove the catalytic converter?? Here in Italy antipollution laws are restrictives and isn't it. It's the same in Australia as well, it's highly illegal. There are many High Flow/Performance Catalytic converters on the market, there shouldn't be a need to remove it completely.
  13. Umm not with the power FC tuning, what Shao was saying is you'd be surprised how many people from Toyota HQ look at this forum, some are even members, so you can't advertise your mods, have something go wrong and expect TMC to honour warranty when it's as a result of your alterations.
  14. This Post is useless without pictures :P
  15. Skitzo had a custom one made up. Influx has the c-one CF hood with the scoop.
  16. Speed limiters can be set at any speed by the manufactures depending on the spec of the car. The Passat may have H rated tyres as standard, so to ensure the tyres don't self destruct because the car is travelling too fast, VW has set the limiter at 210km/h But usually you can feel when you hit a limiter.
  17. Countering Understeer is a matter of smoothly/gently reducing throttle until the fronts grip and the nose tucks in. Back off on the throttle too suddenly and you're completely shifting weight of the rear wheels and you can induce 'lift off oversteer' which will most likely result in you facing where you just came from or worse. Countering Oversteer in a FF is tricky. Oversteer in a FR or RR is usually as a result of too much power being applied to the rear/driven wheels. Countering it in a FR or RR is 9 times out of ten only a matter of some opposite lock and reducing throttle until the tyres grip again. In a FF oversteer occurs as a result of not enough weight holding the tyres down to the road when lateral forces are applied. To counter it, more weight needs to be shifted over the rears tyres. To do this you need to apply more throttle and opposite lock in a very small amount and then quickly be ready to correct your steering when the rear tyres do grip otherwise you'll just spin in the opposite direction. Oversteer in a FF is difficult to catch (You only have to watch overseas touring cars to see this) and the best way to avoid it is not to induce it. Most times, oversteer in a FF results in a spin.
  18. Performance difference is negligiable, probably 1kw difference at most as shown at recent Melbourne dyno day. The difference is in throttle response. The engine will rev quicker/easier.
  19. BMC Baby ! Surgical Cotton Gauze but only very lightly oiled in comparison to k & n. Better airflow too. Available pretty much everywhere. Around the $150 or less mark.
  20. I think kcorro has had experience with both so perhaps pm him bangn.
  21. I don't think it's a direct replacement for the Corolla Sportivo but merely Toyota's bid to continue dominating market share by having more models for every segment.
