  1. Yeah agreed. On the off chance he did want a Sportivo they can be picked up 2nd hand some of them for $20,000 - $24,000 now with relatively low k's. The Germans and Japanese have been the two driving forces in car manufacturing. Safety, performance etc etc. The majority of the German cars are pretty expensive to service as are parts, but by *** they are reliable many of them. in that case, go for VW, same price brand new, no kays :D, as far as parts, atleast yu wont have to buy gaskets Man, if you buy your Toyota filter from dealer, you can ask the gasket for free. If you do your services with them, it cost you less than $2 anyway. No big deal.
  2. Don't think about Korean car anyway. http://www.howsafeisyourcar.com.au/ take a look their result I will look at Mazda 3, Ford Focus, Nissan Tida, Golf, C4 & 307. Corolla is great car for day to day driving. (I don't think he is after corolla sportivo) Otherwise, he won't compare with those cars.

  14. hehe, thanks, but the question that's been bouncing around in my head is that ive heard conflicting reports. they say if i drive it hard, the engine will get thrashed very easily permanently whilst ive heard again that if i baby the engine, it will drive like a granny car for the rest of it's life. So which one's true? Also, is it worth changing the oil at the 1500k service? and if so, do i go for the nice synthetic stuff, or just some plain mineral oil? I think no big deal...Manual said take it easy, don't push...Hey, but is Toyota Engine, so I pushed close to redline sometime when break in...Of course after warm up. I did my first oil change at 1000K at Toyota...I just want to change that is it.
