  1. The corolla integrated keys (conquest and above i believe) use the CR1616 battery.

I replaced mine yesterday, bought the battery @ Jaycar for $3.30, and replaced it myself using a screwdriver.

Im sure the guys at Jaycar wouldnt mind helping you fit the battery at no cost if you're worried, but its a pretty easy job.

  2. There are some brand new cars that wont start unless the clutch is in... are they "old-school"???

I thought those were only limited to the damn korean cars.....

Bloody hyundai, had me trying to jumpstart a colleagues for almost 45mins.

Everytime i turned the key the the immobiliser would go on... i was thinking the immobiliser was playing up... then it just turned out i had to clutch it (even though i already took it out of gear).

Though for the record, i too park with car in gear (when im driving a manual that is), however I have heard of first hand cases where ppl admit there partners smashed their cars cos they didnt realise the car was in gear and it leaped forward into the wall upon startup.

  3. Hello, I am thinking of installing 2x10inch subs and amp, I would like to know if the stock head unit in a 05 Sportivo has RCA outputs? and if not what time of Output does it have? Does anyone have the specs on the stock unit?

no RCA's from what i remember, just the standard toyota plugs.

You can always sell your headunit, from the avg sale price, they go for about $100-$130 depending on the seller.

Xpolshun is looking for a 6cd mp3 headunit, so PM him if you're looking to sell.

  4. how come there's such a big diff ? can i actually use 205/55 on our stivos?

    205/55/R16 89V @ 144

    205/50/R16 87V @ 195

205/55r16.. blairs first gave me a price of $210.. then got it down to the same as JYDMYard once i told him I've seen it for cheaper else where.. also he told me that the stocks are low atm.. and the prices may rise very soon.. ehh.. probably just sales bs..

my understanding is that 205/55/R16 would be a more common profile than the 205/50/R16.... the same reason why the stock 195/55/R16's cost so bloody much even though they are such plain tyres.... uncommon profiles.

  5. check the Toyo website Toyo under products

has anyone priced Toyo Trampio R1Rs?

Dont know about Trampio R1R's, I've only heard of Trampio TPG.

    Anyways, pricing on Trampio TPG

    215/45/R17 91W @ 180

    195/60/R15 88H @ 126

    225/50/R16 92V @ 195

    205/55/R16 89V @ 144

    205/50/R16 87V @ 195

From Blairs @ Cabramatta, i called around and they were the cheapest (cheaper than Blairs @ Peakhurst).

These prices were current as of Feb2006, dont know what they are now though, however this should give you a good indication.

Anyway, you could always haggle for a discount afterwards, the guy was nice enough and gave me a $5 discount on my wheel balancing (cos thats all i needed to do).

For who ever is interested. The price I got from them was $197

Also tried JYDMYard and got the same price.

    what size is that?

  6. blairs wheels in Canley Vale/Cabramatta.

Its got a huge 4x4 Tyre in the front.

    CABRAMATTA BLAIRS TYRES 107 HUME HWY 2166 02 9724 0771

I was looking at toyo tyres at one stage, called several places, eg TyrePower, Australias Best, Bob Jane.

Blairs @ Cabra was the cheapest for the Toyos , the other blairs tyres in Peakhurst, was ok, but not as cheap.

  7. gday guys,

my car's steering wheel sometimes shakes when i slow down and brake. What could cause this problem?? steering wheel doesnt stay straight when driving in a straight line on freeways at high speeds, tends to move to left a little bit. what could cause this problem??

    all the best,

    lauschie

I had the same problem. Rebalancing the wheel did bugger all. The damn thing still shook when i broke. Does your one shake more if you brake less? I found that ive i tapped the brake pedal slightly more the braking was less, and it disappeared as soon as i started accerating a bit.

It doesnt seem to happen so much now that ive changed the brake pads though. So maybe its a sign to change them? How much brake pads you got left?

As for the staying straight, wheel alignment. Ive read somewhere that being a FWD, only the front wheels need to be done, aligning the back isnt necessary unless you've hit something hard.
