    Jap's TRD Hilux

Well, I have some more goodies on their way for the Hilux. Going to do a little more research, might be a little breakthrough for you TRD Aurion owners. I'll let you know
  2. Aftercoolers (Intercoolers) are a great thing. Water to Air are great and consistent, Air to Air can be extremely effective and are simple. Yes, IMO, it is worth it.
  3. This thread is as awesome as a biggest loser finalist with a yeast infection
  4. Please, won't somebody think of the children
  5. I paid $30 for a replacement Dayco blower belt through Repco. Toyota wanted $317 for it. SAME belt manufacturer.
  6. Hi Guys... I need some help. There is a company lined up to make a car bra for my TRD Hilux, but they are having trouble finding one. If you are in the area (or are willing to travel a little for it) and let the nice people take a pattern off your hilux... Please let me know if you can help. I'll gladly fix anyone up for some fuel if they can genuinely help. Thanks a bunch!

    KRudd vs. JGill

Whoever made the push for the resources tax was, IMO, committing suicide. The big votes obviously come from the cities, but people need to see what effect the proposed tax is having on mining communities ALREADY. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking in the 'positions vacant' column just yet, but it has thrown an air of doubt around, all too close to the big crash last year. People out here just cannot believe how much of a cash grab it is! Hopefully it is dismissed as 'stupid' and they (the mining companies) can re-establish their trust and start investing monies again. Thats obviously one aspect of it but I feel it was definitely a catalyst to what is going on.
  8. I did some looking into the AFM system on the LS engines, they have double skinned lifters on 4 of the 8 cylinders, the other 4 run normal hydraulic rollers. They have a valve body on the oil gallery that diverts oil pressure to channels in the lifter bores that throw a pin and disconnect the cam lobe from the pushrod to deactivate valve action. But back to the choice of vehicle, you can certainly do worse than an SS-V, at the end of the day, its up to the individual. EDIT: F**ked spelling lol
  9. I was under the impression that only the autos have AFM. Can't understand how they can make more power, the afm is there to deactivate cylinders, nothing more. Some people don't understand how it works, so they pass opinion on it which is misinformed. I personally do not like it. The idea of turning the flames off in the same 4 cylinders doesn't sit well, I believe the materials aren't up to that stage yet. Unless they have software built in to activate said cylinders once every few cycles to keep temps up. Either way, if you're going for power and bang for buck, go the FG turbo 6
  10. I love the FG XR8 front ends, but the turbo 6 is where its at, as far as fords are concerned.
  11. Go a TRD Hilux, blow the equivalent Aurions into the weeds :D
  12. You might miss the build quality.... Other than that, they have great performance potential.
  13. Worked out a plan of attack for more boost. Also found out toyota are attempting to mark up a belt to 5 times its manufacturer value.
  14. Welcome mate TRD's FTW There are a few places you can start off with. Try Bullet Cars Corner of Business Street & Ant Road Yatala QLD 4207 AUSTRALIA Tel: 07 3382 0018
  15. Ha ha...us country folk need some heavy duty protection.... I'll put some pics in my build thread when I have it anyway
  16. I apologise for not explaining myself a bit better. I was talking about one of these guys: http://www.carbra.com.au/index1.html I've spoken to them, $495 incl. delivery Australia Wide for a custom made one. I'm going on another trip in October, I'll grab one before then.
  17. You going to get a Car-Bra for it?
  18. Does that hurt or what? I love seeing people go hard with mods to their cars, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Nice job :)
  19. Welcome Wayne... Good to see you getting into your car... The Xede is a good thing. Intake, Boost, Exhaust and the ECU to support it all is the basic recipe for the TRD gear. See you around!

    Jap's TRD Hilux

Went 1/8th mile racing on the weekend... Well...kind of a powerskid comp... Best pass of 9.60 @ 79 mph...at the end of the day, I was turning the tyres through 1st, 2nd and into 3rd... I'm chasing down some video footage...i'll put some up if I get it
  22. I've only had two, a 2004 SR5 turbo dual cab and this one. The latest ones are light years ahead of the 'older' ones in terms of handling, comfort and styling. Offroad ability? not sure. My current hilux doesnt see too much dirt ;)
