0.1 improvement in the 60 foot is better than going backwards! Am I allowed to say I'm the quickest TRD Hilux in Australia yet? :P

Cheers :D My take on it is that it increases throttle opening for a given pedal input as well as increasing response. I just can't wait to get it on the strip again!
  3. Have you tried a spacer in the secondary O2 sensors to stop the ECU throwing a code? I'm using a pair in the hilux and they work well.

Had a go at a 4WD launch (H4) today, on the dirt to see how it would go. Hooked up very well. Even to the point where I WOULD try it on bitumen, but it would be useless after 60 feet at the track and would sap a lot of power. So yes, you could launch a 300rwhp hilux in H4, but theres no reason to. Why? I'll show you some pics when I get them. :D

Thanks guys, I'll try a 4WD launch one day, i've got a spare transfer case in the glovebox. :D I'm keen to crack that 100mph barrier now, I got my 13, which I am stoked about, but its oh-so-close to 100mph, I might as well have a shot at that too. I got some pics and video laying around here somewhere, I'll put them up soon

Here is my best 1/4 pass to date:
  7. I'm sure jockeys do the same thing before a big race lol
  8. Not bad, Daryl. You're 60' 0.5 secs ahead of me, how is your wheelspin if any? I'll be at the 1/4 this saturday, going to run my streeters and a set of slicks back to back, we'll compare notes then :) 13 out of a damn near stock trd aurion is doing well :D
  9. Nice car. i'm liking the FG XR fronts, the XR8 a little more due to the 'bulge'... That would look good dropped and levelled with the same wheels IMO...don't change too much... A set of eyelids would make it look even more angry
  10. Wasn't aimed at you, Delvance It was a blanket bombing lol
  11. My dad's car can beat your dad's car. Who really cares. The kid has a commodore. He imports stuff from overseas because its too expensive here (Magic Trees?) He has to drive it, not you guys. So lets have a laugh, life's too short to get worked up. I'll post a pic later to show you what commodores are good for
  12. Autos aren't always multiplying torque x 2, are they. And the fastest 1/4 mile cars actually dont have a transmission, do they? I do know what you're saying though. I own an auto now after a full start with manual cars so far. The only time I miss a manual is when I have cruise control on, sometimes it kicks back when I'd rather it use the torque it HAS and keep pulling FFS But other than that, the 5 speed in the hilux is great, I've put a shift improver in mine and it as firm as you would ever want. Auto/Manual, depends what you're doing, but I'll take an auto thanks.

The oil consumption issue is hit and miss, mine was a little thirsty for it but settled right down after 5,000 on the clock. Then it was a great engine, didn't like cold weather though, sounded like the block was gonna split in half on cold start ups lol I happened to roll mine while towing my race car, I wanted a wagon as replacement, but insurance wouldnt do it. Not sure where to find your reports as such, are you referring to reviews etc? try magazines? I didnt like the new dash layout when I got my replacement, the cab chassis actually reduced in size, my knee was squashed between the door pod (GXL) and the steering wheel, no matter where I positioned it. Hope the wagons have more room. I dont know if they've changed the front/rear track difference yet, that may be something to look at as well. Good luck
  14. No, I was referring to the part on the front header, where it looks like a stock pipe drops into a different section. Looks like crap. Cats also take a lot of harshness out of an exhaust note (especially if you're re-using stock ones) so keep that in mind when altering your system...
  15. Thanks for the update. What is happening up near your headers? looks like a stock pipe disappears into a 2.25 or 2.5" pipe? Also, keep the pipe diameter down, this helps reduce drone. I've done some R&D on the 1GR and it is a hard engine to dull down. Don't be greedy with diameters and you'll be set

  17. Can someone please show me a solid steel tube? lol Any job is possible as long as you keep your head on and some common sense about what you're going to do. Never underestimate an item in a press, when under pressure, if it flies out, you might as well get shot with a rifle. Take your time. It's not a race til you get it going again :)

Headwind I found, is a big killer on my MPH. If all is going well i.e: good light, good 60', then i'd be expecting a high 13. But drag racing is a weird thing. If I hit my power target, I might need to put sandbags in the back lol
  19. Does it add any HP? At least when you drop a malteser while driving on a long trip, you can see where it is

LOL Isn't that colour a sign of sexual frustration ??? Yes, it goes that colour when you hold it too tight

I'll be passing through Brisbane early January lol I've only had it on the 1/8th up until now, but the MPH is the only real indicator. I'm heading to the strip on the 24th, will see what it does then. A 13 something ET would be nice.
