  1. Supercheapauto in Melbourne are having a 15% off on DBA rotors. Not sure if this will be cheaper or not.
  2. There's an ebay seller in Melbourne that is selling the QFM high performance brakes here. Don't know if that's cheap or not. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DB1474-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-BRAKE-PAD-CAMRY-AVALON-AURION-/150461792306?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item230838c032 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DB1475-PERFORMANCE-BRAKE-PAD-CAMRY-AVALON-AURION-REAR-/150461793634?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item230838c562
  3. I always carry a few micro cloths and chamois in the car to clean the front windscreen when it fogs up. I also carry a window wiper to remove water from the rear window to allow easier defogging.
  4. Going from 205/60R16 to 215/60R16 will only increase your speedo by 1.8%. Assuming your speedo reading is higher than it should be there is no problem but i'm not guarantying anything. If you have a GPS check your speed at 60km/h and 100km/h then work out the difference in % from the speedo reading and GPS reading. If it's more than 2% then you shouldn't have a problem going up to 215/60R16 tyres but if less i wouldn't recommend it.
  5. Not sure how much these cost at your size but look at Dunlop Sp Sport FastResponse.
  6. I use 2 brands. Autoglym for interior and exterior and a brand most of you probably never heard of, Collinite for the exterior.
  7. I think the whine is due to the low viscosity oil. I had the same whine in my old camry when i put 5W30 oil in it. But hey, the whine sounds like a quiet supercharger.
  8. I was swapping my rear speaker with my MB quarts i took out from my old camry. I was testing to see if the speakers would fit and when testing the 2 bars in the back pushed the speaker up. For everyone who changed their speakers how did you manage to fit yours speakers in?
  9. Alloy wheels are just for looks and do no improvement in driving wise. Unless you go with racing wheels which are lighter and have like 50 spokes to spread the weight around the wheel while driving then no.
  10. For people who are using HID kits on their Aurion did you have to lower the projector headlight?
  11. How do you find out if you have V2? Do you look under or above the engine bay? EDIT: I found it. just looked to the side of the side under the battery and mine says V28 on it.
  12. I think it has something to do with the 16"(95) and 17"(93). That's my guess.
  13. If your logic is true then what's the point of making 100's of different engine oils? You might as well put cooking oil into your car if it makes no difference at all.
  14. You can use either 215/60R16 or 225/60R16. I'm planning to use 225/60R16 soon because the price difference is like a few dollars. I recommend Dunlop SP Sport FastResponse. Currently Beaurepaires have having a sale. $171 for 215/60R16 and $179 for 225/60R16.
  15. Ninja Hamster sniffing out bargains for fellow Toyota drivers  I remember locking at some Toyota 17" alloy and they were $225 each without tyre or fitting so my guess for kappa 17" is $280ish considering 18" kappa cost $400. The kappa wheels are all the same with the PCD and offset so most Toyota cars can use it. I was also considering getting this deal but the tyres are just too small for the Aurion. You would be risking your safety and the speedo would be even more inaccurate. Your best choice is to get buy the deal, sell the tyres to a Corolla driver and buy proper size wheels for the Aurion.
  16. Saw a black Aurion today with 19"ish black rims in the Heidelberg area today around 11:40am.
  17. $2000 is the 18" from memory but i'm not sure about the 17". Unique do you really want to see a true bargain B) http://www.nunawadingtoyota.com.au/generic-specials.php scroll down to the 4th box and open it
  18. I'm considering using 225/60R16 tyres very soo. My current tyre size is 215/60R16. The speed difference is 1.804% more but considering my speedo is slower by 4-5% the 1.8% shouldn't be much of an issue. Is there any other issue that i should know?
  19. the C drive are soft compound tyres so they were NEVER meant to be meant for long lasting tyres.
  20. I also heard those were good. The only problem is that you can't get them in Australia.
  21. The cheapest i can get Shell V-power(98) is $1.22 after discounts. Shell are apparently have an extra discount this month. Spend $5 or more and save 6c per litre. So in total i saved 10c per litre but it you will only benefit the discount if you refuel around 55L+
  22. Have a look at the new Michelin Pilot Sport 3 if money isn't an issue. Another issue you have is you want a long lasting and quiet tyre. These 2 do not go together well. Hard compound tyres last a long time but are loud and soft coumpound tyres are quiet but don't last that long. Another option is looking at Yokohama C.Drive You can't get A or S drive in 215/50R17. You can however get C.Drive.
  23. Try 37psi front and 35psi back. hi everyone, new here and just bought a camry altise 2008 model but haven't picked it up yet till next week. hey hamster, is that a genuine answer? i don't have the user manual yet to see what it's recommended, but even with my current ride, a commodore, i used 32 or 33 psi. heard of a friend using 35psi though with his commodore. I use 39/37psi on my Aurion so considering the Camry is a bit lighter 37/35psi is no issue. I even pumped my tyres up to 41psi to see how it felt and i noticed that i lost quite a bit of braking performance. It's personal preference. If you want a more sporty feel go with a higher psi and if you want comfort go with a lower psi.
  24. I was driving today and the fuel pump light popped up. Turns out it had 13L left. <_< Apparently Shell at my local store is having a major discount on petrol. If you spend $5 in the shop you get 6c off petrol. Since i used the 4c i got a total of 10c per L. Average consumption was 11.2L/100km. This is pure city driving. Only saved $2 but i got 3 butter menthols for free :)
  25. Don't bother. Chances are they will not use the oil you bring and just use their cheap crap oil and steal your oil.
