  1. hmmmm.... Maybe they have run out of part on stock in Australia :( They did say they have had a lot lately come in for replacements including the RAV's which I know have been mentioned here before - don't know if they exactly the same part. Would be happy to get the part in a week as I hate knwoing there is something wrong with the car. Will speak to the dealer when the part does come in to see if I can negotiate the price - I saw the notes written on the paperwork said part $457 and when I asked dealer he quoted same cost - so wonder if that includes labor or not....

  3. I can add mine to the list as well, went to the dealer and said that I could feel a knocking and straightaway he said it was probably the shaft spline and after service completed it was confirmed. They need to order the part from Japan - 6 to 8 weeks to get here. Quoted $457 so consistent with other members here. I have noticed reading through the posts that it happens at random times - anything from 40k to 110k - do we known what causes the shaft to fault? I will have to pay for it though as warranty ran out in Dec last year.
  4. Finally got mine installed - $175 for installation. Mine also come on at all times when the car is unlocked / locked and car turned off. Even in daylight. As I bought the lights from a TOCAU member I saw the kit before installation and it is hooked up to the dome light, so it acts based on the setting of the dome light - or atleast it very much appears that way. Now just to get a blue led for the dome light and it will be perfect :)
  5. congrats on the new car. I wouuldn't worry about the petrol - there are plenty of threads around here which will confirm that the Aurion is really close to only using it's claimed 9.99l/100km.(my worst is only 12.4 - city driving in Canberra) My petrol gauge is also funny but you get used to it. Mine will show that it has used a quarter of a tank after 100km, then not move at all till about 175km. It does the same trick when it shows I have used half a tank and then not move till driven another 50-75km, and lastly it likes to show the petrol warning lights when I have used about 55l of petrol. Can I ask what setting you have the stereo on, i.e. setting on treble and base.
  6. Does anyone have a photo that shows where the reverse camera is installed on the aurion pressara? I getting one installed and can see most install it above the licence plate but from what I have seen that is not where it sits for the Pressara?
  7. The even services are generally the more expensive as mork work is done at those stages. I.e 60000km and 90000km, so I would expect the 75000km being cheaper than your previous. Whether $270 is too much, can't comment on that, but labor is normally around the $100hr mark
  8. From what I heard, the "special" break package only had to be applied to NSW Police cars used for pursuit as they have tougher criteria. I guess it would be cool to buy an ex cop car and get a better brake system on the car for free - flip side would be that if the car was indeed a pursuit car then the engine could have been given a good workout
  9. hi mate, could you please let me know where you got the carbon fibre overlay - reckon it looks awesome and would basically love to be a copy cat.

  11. question? sorry, know it it is not related to thread, but since Dale mention it being an ex cop car - would the car come with the enhanced break package that Toyota had to add for the Aurion being used as a pursuit car. If the car was indeed used for a pursuit car.
  12. I got mine off Ebay for $82. They are genuine and turned out they came from a Vic Toyota Dealer. They must be expanding business selling on Ebay :) I got combined postage as I also got the rubber boot liner - also genuine Toyota and love that. It keeps the boot so tidy and I like the Huge Toyota logo it has on it. personally I prefer to genuine mats as they fit perfectly and the color is the same as the existing floor carpet, so you actually hardly notice that you have the mats and it just flows in to one. I have also found that non-genuine mats seem to move around more. I know that statement could probably lead to a whole new debate. :)
  13. Wurth is excellent. My folks both work at a Toyota Dealership in Denmark and Wurth have the contract there to supply the dealerships throughout the contry. Go to wurth.com.au and just send a contact to ask where the closest dealer is to you. My father in law has a contact for Canberra - I can ask him for contacts as they may be able to organise shipping to Sydney and elsewhere I guess.
  14. The cars are simply built based on what customers want in those countries and what they have come to expect. We only want big cars with big engines, and only in the later years has it become more natural to think about safety. America gets a knee airbag, look at an Yaris/Echo 5 years ago in Europe - it came with 7 airbags as standard. I would personally like the tyre pressure system, to assist with better fuel economy management, but agree, the one we can get here does not look nice. Again this is something that is now law in some European countries - as it helps fuel economy = less polution. I have the rear entertainment system. You can get it here too. You just need to search for it under accessories for the Prado. It works with all Toyota's. Kids love it. Duo screen, can watch the same movie on both or different movie on each. Has 2 remotes, and wireless head phones. Don;t ask me the cost as the in-laws bought if for the kids for Christmas. Oh yes it also crash tested to European Standards. Don't fancy heated seats. They heat till they reach the set temp, then turn off, and come on again once temp dropped to a certain point. Basically gives you the feeling that your bum is being burnt every 10min :)
  15. i was told by my Toyota dealer that the oil was made by Castrol, but specifically for Toyota, so not the the Castrol you can buy off the shelf from Super Cheap etc....
