  1. welcome to the club mate :D
  2. that is one crazy ghetto modded car u got there! but i love it! oh and welcome to the club mate!
  3. car. yes it sounds lame unoriginal and worse i'm always saying "sorry car" everytime i go into a small pot hole i should of avoided, get dirty road water splashed at while in motion and not letting it warm up because i'm late for work.
  4. :P want to make a bet? ;) i rest my case hehe :D
  5. i ordered a cusco rear sway bar (942 311 B16) as the same as the hatch owners on here, one of the sedan owners here JE-55-EA fitted them to his sedan so going by his part number i eventually got one from greenline motorsports online. yeah i hope this is a good "next stage" in handling, since putting lower springs, new wheels and bigger better tyres u notice straight away your car can take corners better and lean in at a higher speed. your right about the rear swinging a little bit so i'm hoping this will make the difference from the first list of handling mods.
  6. *points to all the levin zr owners on here* i guess it's more of the variation of outer body parts (front bar, lip, rear spoiler) u can get from actual makers (trd, tte, c-one) that fit in straight away with no hassle. with the grill i installed, while it did suit the sedan i had to "ghetto" mod the thing because the half of the holes and tabs weren't the same as the original grill.
  7. yeah i can see the similarities aye, too bad under the hood they're totally different lol
  8. hehe thanks dude but i still at times wanted a hatch because of the crazy jdm mods out there for it :D
  9. yeah i always had the "u get for what u ay for" mentality but they all fitted in pretty well actually. i just double checked that i tightened the bolts securely and made sure they didn't wobble once fitted. i was going for the smoked one as well but figured i would like to keep it stock looking and less attention of the cops :P just another thing did u have trouble taken the orginals off? because the main lights had 3 bolts and two trunk ones had 2 bolts but all four had this permanent white tab thingy which were a bitch to get off to the point i actually had to cut them off. luckily the new ones came with them and u just pushed them into and re-lock them in. thats right the white tab things they were a bitch!! I broke the drivers side but saved the passenger end. ive had mine for almost a year now and still no issues, so quality seems to be holding also. I didnt think at the time but had to later order the bumper reflectors in smoke. As soon as i fitted the tail lights and stood back it looked so dickie. lol Any future plans for the car? I like the grill change also. hehe well atleast i'm not alone when i was swearing and being confused as to why they wouldn't come off so easily and how the hell i was to remove them. yeah i'm in the same boat for the reflectors, i've seen mods done to it but kinda gonna let it slide for now. from here on out it's gonna be handling mods before the engine i guess, i've ordered a rear sway bar and hopefully front strut in future. all show no go for now haha :P

  11. just a quick update on the car, the usdm tail lights i ordered from ebay finally came in and got to install them after work. i must say i'm very impressed with the fitment and funny enough the look of it which is what most people would buy it for in the first reason. i honestly bought the lights for standing out in the crowd but after standing there looking it for a few moments i realise to myself "wow doesn't look too bad", even my partner who is anti-mod liked them more than i did. hopefully she'll turn a new leaf with me buying a few more things later on. wang By wangapooh at 2011-05-24

  21. is searching on carsales for a corolla hatch in manual to trade...i don't care what the missus says! lol

  22. unfortunately after reading this from a toyota nation member in regards to my car it's a shame to say this sucks balls if it's true. Info about your car: Model: ZRE152R-AEPDKQ Frame: ZRE152-J007715 Production: 02/08 Paint: 1G3 Grey Trim: FE12 Grey Cloth Engine: 1.8L 2ZR-FE Grade: D-Type Transmission: Automatic (4-speed, U341E) Driver's Position: RHD You have a very different rear suspension to our model. Rear sway bars meant for Japan/North America Corolla will not fit your car. That being said, the rear axle beam is the same (42101-12171) as the 2008+ 2nd Generation Scion xB. As such, I would expect rear sway bars from the Scion xB/Rukus to fit your Corolla. The front sway bar on your Corolla is the same as the Auris/Blade in Japan, as well as some other stuff. Nothing over here uses the exact same bar, but again I would expect most E150 parts to be interchangeable. The end links are the same, but I suspect the part number for the bar is different due to diameter/stiffness changes. The manifold, front exhaust pipe, mid pipe and muffler section all have different part numbers compared to US-spec Japan-made vehicles. I expect this is due to a slightly different floor design/rear suspension design. I'd expect most of it to be close but not quite fit. The bumper cover itself is the same, however the rest looks (even in the diagrams) quite a bit different. That doesn't mean it won't fit though, just that it's a different design. The Australian E150 series uses separate pipes for the front/mid/rear sections of the exhaust, while the US-spec E140 series uses a single pipe from the manifold all the way back to the muffler (which is a larger-style than yours). As far as strut braces go, the rear suspension is quite different, so I'd expect that will likely not work for you. On the front I was expecting the upper strut mounts, etc. to be the same between the E140 and E150, but it was not the case. Your upper strut mounts are the same as our Scion xB. I don't know if the bolt pattern is different as I haven't measured it. The upper bar may fit, but again I can't say 100%. The struts and fender aprons have different part numbers to ours. The front suspension setup on your Corolla looks most similar to the Scion xB/Prius. Even the crossmember is a very different design compared to ours, with many more pieces. (Though it is the same as our xB). this is from a guy who might be a toyota tech which i only gave my VIN to and go that info regarding my car, kinda confused what parts fit the sedan now. i gave JE-55-EA a pm and see what his advice is before i start doing anything silly. thanks for the sites guys! i have this little regret i should of bought a manual hatch instead of an auto sedan but family came first and i chose the latter. there is a crap load of stuff for the hatchback :P
