  2. Looking for a tint job on my 02 Hatch Been quoted $250 by Mastertint and the price is pretty much the same for any other spot Just wondering if anyone on the North Coast or South East QLD does window tints? Or knows someone who knows someone who could help me out Am free this weekend if that suits anyone also. Happy to pay cash, booze or a combination of both :P Post up or PM me Thanks,
  3. So are you trying to watch TV or are you trying to put video signal into the unit ?
  4. Damn! aha I was so, well not worried but hesitant about getting a higher colour HID I ordered 4200k because its white and has pretty much no blue in it Also on my Ps so I probably get a bit more attention from law enforcement Anyone running 4300k and can comment on it? @2204 Sorry 8000k mate** Good to see you've got more planned (: Love having a totally stock car, It's so exciting just to be able to start from scratch with what you want Good luck with it all, keep us posted
  5. WOW Looks completely stock. Great work mate! I've ordered on similar, but it isn't model specific so I hope it fits just as well. Bit pricey for my liking, But with the features it has its well worth it. Compared to some other products over $1000 is price :) Great buy though
  6. Looks great mate. Always been a fan of black cars Surely you've got more mods planned than that? :P Oh and also how do you go with your 6000k HIDs? I'm about to install some and a bit worried about getting pulled over by the boys in blue
  7. +1 to what le.vinh.zr says With my headunit (Chinese thing), all I had to do was plug the Handbrake Cable into this Ground Plug Hard to explain but sometimes there is simply a wire you can plug the handbrake cable into and that will ground for you, But if not, Find a bolt, ground it, done (:
  8. just ran over a dog or a cat or something at like 10km/h it ran off really quick but not without leaving damage to the underside of my bumper ):

  9. Grab a drink and have a read What year model car is it mate? Most cars from 1996 were compatible with OBDII Just check around near your steering wheel its usually just under it, its not that hard to find It will be pretty obvious when you find it. You have any options here, but I will go the 3 cheapest - OBD II to USB - OBD II to Bluetooth - OBD II to WiFi We'll start with the USB eBay is your best friend here An OBDII tool will run you about $20 and work from a USB port on your computer You will need software such as http://www.palmerperformance.com/products/pcmscan/index.php or PLX Logger (Google) The OBD II Bluetooth is another option I personally haven't used it. They are a bit more expensive And I would be a bit more hesitant getting Bluetooth to work, as it is a lot of stuff around. Personnally mate, avoid Blueooth OBD The OBD II Wifi option is a good one. If you have an iPhone or iPod touch there is a really good application called Rev. It displays all the data and just works perfectly. A WiFi OBD II is about $70 for a China one and about $150 for a genuine one The genuine one is called Kiwi Wifi OBD The WiFI also works with a laptop if you have the right software mate. Just like a USB. Honestly up to you and your budge mate. For OBD tools you can spend thousands and it really depends what you want and need to do from the OBD system. If all you need to do is view and log data a USB cable and some software will suffice But if you wanna take the step up and have an iPhone or iPod touch, the WiFi option is great with the Rev software and works fantastically Do a bit of googling and research, watch a few videos and you will find what is right for you Let me know if you need any more info, happy to help you out (:
  10. Wire it to constant 12V so its always on? Then just switch from GPS to Camera when you want to use it? If you want a fully stock look, grab this
  11. If I were you mate I'd go the Pacific Highway (depending on time of year with traffic) New England Highway usually adds about 2 hours when I do it But there are no bottle necks on the NE HWY such as Buladelah and Macksville which just get clogged in peak traffic on the Pacific Not sure where your heading? but for me NE HWY is 754km from Sydney and the Pacific is only 600km to home (Ballina) I'd say if your going in peak time, go NE HWY, if not peak the Pacific is fine. (I did it last week in 8 hours) Just remember to check traffic updates on the RTA website, they release traffic hold ups within minutes of them happening I would prefer the Pacific Highway, as its only about 10km from me But if you want/need to go the NE route, it is only about 3 hours for me, which is a heck of a lot less than 9 anyway Completely up to you mate, and where your heading etc, not looking to put you out here Pickup is in Castle Hill. And I'm pretty sure its a full system, but I think I may only get cat-back, If it is the full system, it obviously will be disassembled for transport, same as if I just get the cat-back
  12. I would love to come to the annual meet, But my car is so ... stock haha @LFT-OFF Anywhere in Northern NSW mate, I'm currently in Evans Head (30k South of Ballina) Just looking for someone who is coming up so I can at least knock a few hours from driving or if I can meet them somewhere along the Pacific Highway Just don't want to have to drive 9 hours, if someone is say coming to Coffs Harbour for the weekend and could easily help me out, Well thats the plan anyway
  13. Hey guys, I need a really big favour pulled and wondering if anyone can help me out, or knows someone who can help me out. I need an exhaust for my Rolla' picked up from Sydney and brought somewhere near the north of the state. Dosen't have to be to my door, just if I can cut a few hours off driving, I'd be stoked! Was just wondering if anyone was travelling up for a holiday, or for work or for some other reason and could help me out, with $$ for doing it of course. Reason being is I don't really want to organise a courier at this point, and thought I'd ask around here first and see if anyone was already going to be doing the route Possibly people attending the annual meet? I know its a month away, but I'm not in any rush. So if anyone can help me out, or know someone who knows someone, just let me know, I'd appreciate it Cheers Callum
  14. G'day mate Sorry completely forgot about this Whereabouts on the central coast are you ? Cheers
  15. Reversing camera on eBay should run you about $30 at the most mate. How handy are you? Its not a hard install and you can usually just mount it somewhere near the rear window. I had a quick look for you and I couldn't find any cameras that are plug and play By plug and play i mean, it plugs straight into your license plate lights and works, all you have to do is run a cable. Thats what I was looking at for my corolla here Might fit your Tarago, so check it out mate Most double din's will accept your reversing camera signal, heck all of them will, its just a simple RCA video cable that you need. I'm not sure how much this would cost to get it professionally done, but if you already have the double din you could get away with this for under $50. The hardest bit is finding somewhere to mount if you can't get a model specific and then all you do is run a wire to switched power under the dash and run your video cable to the back of the headunit
  16. @munter I haven't checked lately but im pretty sure they are right Do you think 40 is a bit too high mate? Just reading the manual and they mentioned 32 psi @BG Pete Definitely will be servicing soon, almost time for the 195,000k What simple checks would you recommend mate? And by injector clean, do you mean removing the whole rail or just a bottle of injector cleaner? New plugs will be done at the 195k Cheers guys
  17. Would you be open to offers on the insttrument cluster mate? Cheers Callum
  18. Cheers for the responses guy I thought it would be the case, I wasnt that keen on a canon simply because of all the ***** lancers and the like getting around with them that sound absolutely disgusting haha LFT-OFF Would any muffler and exhaust shop be able to do this for me? Or would I have to hit up a specialty place? Seems that it would cost me an arm and a leg for a cat back system if a canon is going to set me back $300?
  19. I know this has probably been asked before, But I just really couldn't find anything on my car, and I've been doing a lot of research (: Basically I'm looking to get a bit more sound out of the 1.8 - 02 Ascent What I'd love is a Sportivo CatBack system, heck even just a muffler, but they are a bit hard to come by, especially the cat system. I'm not looking to spend too much money, I'd be happy if I could get away with something under $400, again depending on what I get, cat or just muffler Was at a muffler shop today, and the guy seemed to suggest a smaller canon, Quoted me $160 for an install and then the canon would be like an extra $100 or so So probably around $300 installed. Hit up another place, and they suggested a free flowing muffler with a tip. But they said if I wanted to chuck a tip on it that was possible, and they would also drop the muffler down so you could see the tip. Expecially as stock muffler sits so high. They quoted $300 also Then I turned to eBay, Can get a bolt on canon, model specific for around $150 delivered, which I thought was pretty decent, or a full cat system for about $350 with a canon I'd appreciate any advice anyone has on a exhaust/muffler for my car that you guys have. I'm up on the North Coast of NSW, if anyone could recommend a shop or someone who knows someone, just PM me or post up in the thread. Cheers
  20. Honestly not a fan? From the side can you seriously say it loos better than what we have in Aus? For me it looks like one of those taxi's that can hold wheelchairs :P
  21. Hey guys, Am looking for a Sportivo Muffler or an Aftermarket Muffler to put on my 02 Corolla. Looking for some more sound out of the 1.8 If anyone is looking to sell or knows someone who knows someone, just point them in my direction :) I'm on the North Coast of NSW and am happy to do a bit of travel to pick it up. (SE QLD etc) Post a reply to the thread of just send me a PM, Cheers Callum
  22. Now its time for the fronts Pop your hood and grab the H7 "HID" Halogen Globes, be careful not to touch the bulb, it can ruin them and reduce their lifespan. Remove the rubber grommet surrounding your low beams and simply pull off the connector, then unclip the light Take out your Halogens and put in your new 'HID' bulbs, again being careful not to touch the bulb itself Halogen HID Now do the same for the other side, test that both sides are working and put it all back together Now for the parkers Grab your T10 Wedge Bulbs The parkers are a little bit tricky to get to, grab a hold of them and turn them, they will simply pull out after that, much the same as the license plate lights. Take the old bulb out and replace with your new 'HID' Bulb Halogen HID Put the parkers back in place, twist and lock them in and your ready to roll. Heres a comparison shot, Halogen v HID Guys, these HID Halogen bulbs do look good, and for $5 I'm certainly not complaining, but seriously guys, if you want HID's go and buy them! These bulbs cannot replicate HID quality, and as such are inferior compared to a full HID install Remember these are still Halogen Bulbs, they are just a different temperature of light, The only reason I installed these was because i) I'm on my P's and would probably loose my license for HID's ii) They were $5 A HID kit will run you tops $80 and while you do run the risk of getting a fine (after market HID units are illegal, well in NSW anyway) they do look a lot nicer and are much brighter and ultimately are a higher quality product. But hey I had some fun and for the mean time, these lights will do (: Anyone looking to get a HID look on the cheap, than these are your lights But if your looking for high quality lights and have a bit of money to spend, just go with the HID's you will be much happier in the long run (: Hope I help a few people out with this write up Cheers
  23. I know its a bit hard to see but if you look closely you can see the light and the holder, simply twist and it will come out Replace the light, click it back into place and simply reattach the back panel, You can use the butter knife to simple push a few little clips back into place and it should all just click back together Heres what it looks like at day time And at night time (:
  24. My car blew a headlight the other day, and I went into Autobarn and tried to get another one They tried to charge me $20 fricken dollars for a bulb, and I told em to get stuffed. I went on eBay and started looking at Halogen Bulbs and a few other nifty lights And ordered a pair of 5000K 'HID' Halogen Bulbs, and a few T10 Wedge Bulbs for parkers and license plate lights So after driving around with one headlight for a week or so my packages arrived from China and I thought I'd do an install guide to help everyone out (: These lights in Autobarn will run you upwards of $60 if not more, which is an absolute joke. When your looking on eBay AU for these items, get em shipped from China and just go for the cheapest ones you can with free postage. Don't buy model specific ones! Most of those are $15+ and are the exact same as the 2 dollar ones. Bit of common sense and searching and you will get em probably cheaper I will refer to the bulbs as HID Bulbs, but in reality the T10 bulbs are simply LED's and the headlight bulbs (H7) are simply higher color temperature Halogen Bulbs, these are not HID bulbs that I am installing, if you want to install HID bulbs, you need a HID kit ($80, eBay) What you will need (ZZE Corolla) 2 x H7 HID Halogen Bulbs 500K - $2.60 delivered 10 x T10 HID Parker lightd - $2.40 delivered Ordinary Butter Knife $5 delivered, heck you'd probably saved yourself at least $50 on what SCA or Autobarn would tried to take you for Were going to start at the rear with the license plate lights, You will need the T10 Wedge bulbs for this and they look like this Pop your trunk, well in my case the hatch You will see little panels that need removing, just put your butter knife in a pop em off, easy as. Here is where you can reach through and remove your license plate lights The license plate light, simply reach in and turn it counter clockwise and it will pop right out Pull out the old bulb, and put in the new T10 Wedge Bulbs The T10 Wedge Bulbs will only work one way and are a bit fiddly, so if it doesn't work one way, try it the other way and it will go from this To this A much cleaner look Now all you have to do is simply reinstall the light and the light housing, twist and lock into place, now onto the other side The left hand side is a b*tch to say the least, it has hardly enough room and I was fiddling with it for almost an hour trying to get it into place. Out of aggression, I pulled the back plastic panel and magically it came off! All that was securing it were little plastic grommets, trust me, pull this piece off, its still damn hard to do with it off, it is near impossible to do it with the back panel on, save yourself sometime and pull it off, it all clicks back together again. The simple plastic grommet screw things that hold it together
