  1. Niiice mate. 3, 4 and 1 are my favs (in order of preference) but you really gotta see them against the car to really have a feel for what they will look like on ur car. (or a decent photoshop job lol).

Almost time to pick up my car and take it for a washeewashee.

  2. Lol thanks man. No worries.

Well my wheels are installed and they look pretty slick IMO. Just dropped the car off at Pedders to get lowered. So will be taking the car for a washy washy afterwards and hopefully it will look all sweet and shmick. Photos to come later today :)

  3. lol sometimes it's good to break away from the norm. Plus I saw some pics of gunmetal rims on black cars and it looks hot. smokeyyyyy. Still keeps the stealthy colourscheme too.

My brother just photoshopped some pics for me lol..

the "not lowered" pic (left) looks completely lawl - like a mini SUV. and the lowered pic (right) is a bit too low especially at the front lol.

Second pic is awesome. Your bro got skills

lol you can see the cropping but i didnt catch it until i looked at the pic carefully. but yeh.. we'll see how things look tomorrow when I get them installed tomorrow and my lowering done too :)

  5. They do come in 18x8.0 Offset +45.

I would think you'd be able to get 18's at that price, but most probably with cheaper tyres, like Kumho's.

Didn't really want to cheap out on the tyres too much so opted for 17". Think I'm going to bite and get them done tomorrow with the gunmetal. Will post pics once I get it :)

  6. I like those, looked at them too, they are a Wedssport SA55M copy but I don't think these are black, dark gray matt finish if i remember...

Taleb tyres have them too and possibly cheaper, I know they have one on display

Well I just got off the phone with Bridgestone Select and they offered me a wheel and tyre package including the 17" Advanti Talon in black and fitted with Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001's as tyres (215/45/17) for $1500 (includes $200 trade in of my old stock wheels).

What do you guys think about that?

  7. Hi guys,

So I'm going to go shoe shopping this weekend (tomorrow hopefully - so excited! :D) and wanted everyone's opinion on a set of rims:

    Advanti Talon (in black) -

    http://www.bigotyres...vantiwheels/142

Wanted to go with the black-on-black colour scheme (stealthy look).. already got my windows tinted pretty dark so think it would suit pretty well.. gonna lower the sucker too.

    17" big enough? lol.

  8. So I'm looking to go shoe shopping this weekend and intend to drop my baby a bit too. Hopefully that goes well :) what do you guys think about Advanti wheels? Kinda interested in the Advanti Talon wheels in black to go with my black on black stealthy theme :)

Also, with lowering, I'm trying to decide between pedders or king springs. And is there any issue sticking with my stock shocks? Cheers.

  9. These kits do have a disadvantage in that you need to bypass your steering wheel lock. This typically involves cutting a key and inserting it into the ignition either with or without cutting it shorter.

Even though the key itself won't disable the immobiliser, it just means that it's a security feature removed from the car. I dunno, just saying because anything is possible.

Ah. Thanks for that mate - so I guess this means the key needs to always be in the ignition?

Car alarm & security guys should be able to intall this kit for you at their hourly chargeout rates.

I will say easily will costs you at least $300 or more.

I got a quote from Ace Automotive - $105 for first half hour then $105 for every hour after that.

  10. Hey guys,

I was thinking of getting RKE kit with push-button engine start installed in my 2011 Ascent (wish it came standard like the Levin ZR!), and found this system by Advanced Keys: http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK103B.html

Anyone heard anything about this kit? I love the button too - looks very OEM Toyota/Lexus to me and its not a bad price for the kit itself.

Only thing is I probably wouldn't be able to install it myself (no mechanical/electronic knowledge) so I wonder how much it would cost to get someone to install it for me professionally.

  11. What 4300's have you got installed mate? I thought 4300k would be more of a warm white than blue.

Btw, my HID's have only just been installed so haven't really used them for that long (probably 3hours in total so far).. I read that HID's have a "break in" period of about 50 hours to reach its true colour, so I'm no where near that yet lol.

  12. LOL your 6000k HIDs are more yellow then mine even though i ordered 4300k. Quality control FACEPALM. <_<

They're actually white buddy, if you look at the pics taken with the DSLR.. the closeup of my lights were off my iPhone.

And I don't think they look more yellow than your 4300's, if you look at the pics of mine compared to yours which look a lot more amberish (unless you're referring to your blue lights, which in that case I'd be wondering why 4300k's would be blue lol)..

  13. Hey guys just out of curiosity, should HID beams have a straight horizontal cut-off on the top of the beam? Mine aren't completely straight and have this slight sort of angeled "pattern" so not sure if this is normal. Cheers.

this is about 1.5m from the wall:

a bit closer (about 1m from the wall):

and even closer (about half a meter from the wall):

  14. Thanks guys :)

My next installment is definitely going to be new wheels and lowering. Trying to decide between black with machine/chrome lip or maybe black with blue strip/trim (just to be different from all the red strip/trims). Either way it will probably be another month or 2 before I've accumulated enough funds :)

No no no to the blue ring. Toooooooo tacky.

All black or maybe chrome trim.

    Too tacky? Why's that? lol

Guess I'll see how they look up against the car when I do go shoe huntin. Probably will stick with the black with chrome lip though. Or might look at how gunmetal looks on the car.

  15. SICKKKKKK!!! Definitely digging the audio setup man! Awesome work.

Oh and not to mention the folding windows when you arm/disarm the security system. I wish mine would open/close automatically - I sometimes forget to unfold mine when I get in my car LOL.

  16. Thanks guys :)

  17. Hi guys, Got my 2011 ZRE152 last month (after my old 2003 Rav4 and I were in a bit of a fender bender), and started to do some slight mods here and there.. The mods started coming in quick; never knew modding would become such an addiction for me :S Anyways, thought I'd update this first post. Finally decided to name my ride.. 'Leila' , a variation of the name 'Layla' which is of an Arabic origin that means "Dark Beauty".. thought it was a pretty appropriate name for my black ZRE :) Current Mod List:
