  1. Take it to a truck service centre And see if they will dispose of it . You may have to pay a small environmental levy ...
  2. They need to connect a fuel gauge.measure the fuel pressure running. turn car off measure it again. Let sit overnight then check the pressure again. Start and if it misfires check the pressure, do the same for the next morning. Before starting it clamp off the return line then start... Checking fuel pressure and the misfire
  3. I haven't worked for toyota in 10 years . Back in the day we used to use a fortron oncar injection cleaner. We disconnected the fuel pump. Clamped off the return line. And connected the kit to the fuel line. It's only good for keeping the system clean. I'd even consider carbon build up on the injectors?if so get a spray bottle with water, remove the air filter give the car some big revs and spray some water in- not a heap or you'll damage the engine.
  4. What is the fuel pressure? What are the plugs telling you ?
  5. Have worked at a Toyota Toyota dealer when 1st started and independents I know how both work. Dealers charge a higher labour rate as they are factory trained. Dealers have all the special service tools to do the job. If they have a major technical issue they have back up from the factory to get it sorted. And a possibility of a loan vehicle if a major issue occurs... (Try that at a independent) Yes the prices for parts have a large margin on them... They also have state of the art equipment more over heads ect. If you stay with the dealer and support them they will support you , from parts, to used and new sales, we have even flown customers interstate for new product launches, and even a few overseas back to the factory so they can see how the unit Is made. If I had $1 for every time I've answered a technical question from a competing work shop id be a million air. To pair a computer to the vehicle our adapter cost 3500, the program cd is aprox 1,200 ea plus another 15k per user per year to ensure we have all the factory up dates ... I'm pretty sure we have just under 10 units available you do the math... As a general rule I put $80 a week away for the car. If you can not afford this you shouldn't have a car... ( having never worked on a Aurion before it took me just under a hour to do the plugs all hand tools no service manual and didn't remove the plenum chamber) the only time I take any of my cars to the shop is for a wheel balance and alignment, and I only Take my car to one place for a rego check - the same place for over 10years now even though I can get them thru work as I used to work with the guy...
  6. Whiteline discontinued making them once the Aurion cracked a few sub frames when the sway bar bolts onto ..
  7. To remove sludge the quickest way, on a straight 4/6. Drain oil and keep . remove rocker covers and sump, steam clean refit covers. Refill with old oil. Start run for 5 minutes or so drain and fill with new oil... Used to do this working for a import shop... Cheap oil is not the issue, lack of oil changes is the issue. I used to use cheap oil $15.95 stuff... on my ae92 corolla changed the oil every 5k . Swapped the engine out at 485,000 pull the rocker cover off inside was like new...
  8. Why couldn't you buy a 2nd hand 2gr engine and swap everything over?
  9. Sorry midnight. This is not associated with a Aurion. Last time I did a acv36 camry I did it as fast as using a press. Wilth a electric drill and a air chisel. However the bushes in the Aurion are completely different so I thought I'd better ask before pulling it apart. I'll have a crack at it. Thanks for trying however.
  10. Cushie audio in Wollongong do a "bolt in" converter to listen to the iPod. Also does a Bluetooth version hands free kit. Will cost about $190 however....
  11. A while back I came across a thread about the sub frame cracking with a bigger rear sway bar - running a std replacement shock and spring. Would anyone know if there has been any sub frame cracks at the dear bar mounting points whilst coil overs are fitted? As I have yellow speed racing coil overs in my car...
  12. Has any one changed the front controll arm bush's at the rear , do I need a press?
  13. I have coil overs in my 98 Camry I'm selling ( brought a aurion) Give me a buzz on 0422948007 I work in Liverpool area.
  14. Sorry to dig up a old thread. I have got coilovers and sway bars in my mcv20 . Handles extremely well and the Coilovers are about half the weight of the oem strut unit. Spring rates are 7/5. Plenty of adjustment for camber depending if you want to do a track day or not.... Yellow speed racing. I had to modify the brake Line mounting for the front struts thats all.....
  15. That is Correct you can use a screw driver to see if theinjecting is making noise, however if it is not working you have have to check for the signal going to the injector, so your really answering the question only Adding more questions to the initial question.
  16. U need a fuel pressure gauge to check the spring .... And the link provides details for some snap on tools . If your not in the trade or don't use it all the time wouldn't bother think I paid around the 550 mark per tension wrench I've got 3 snap on branded a about 250 for a w&b 1/4d tension wrench...
  17. Have you checked fuel pressure after it's been sitting for a while? Then check the pressure when 1st attempting ro start compare it with the 2nd attempt to start. - which could indicate a dodgy spring for the return line.. Have you checked injector pulse with a noid light? Is the ecu getting the basic 5 signals?
  18. Jp headders fairly expensive however Not sure if they can be modified to suit.? http://jpheadersexhaust.com/cgi-bin/jpp6/rtl/prd_d.cgi?category=Toyota
  19. Jp headders fairly expensive however http://jpheadersexhaust.com/cgi-bin/jpp6/rtl/prd_d.cgi?category=Toyota
  20. If there was or is a design fault there would be many failures then a " recall" issued accordingly... It would also be hard to ask for warranty if the car Is 5 years old. Does the ecu show the Dealer of how many kms travelled if so you might able to ask for "technical assistance" ( in the truck scene we Have it) Have you tryed the wreckers for a manifold ? As For 1200 you could buy a low km engine...
  21. I just recieved my coil overs for my mcv 20 : ) can anyone measure the diameter between the top "hat" mounting bolts for the 36 series ?
  22. I'm about 99.9% sure a 97 model camry. Does not have points. It utilizes a inbuilt ignition just like the ae 92/101/102/111 corolla ( not the gze version)
  23. Couldn't be the points. Should be hall effects sensor
