  1. If I managed to get my hands on a set of those triangular panels (e.g. from a wreckers) from a corolla that has "a 6 speaker sound system" (in other words just the tweeters included with a mounting point on the triangular panels), would after-market tweeters fit in those factory mounting points???
  2. No these wont fit sedans, you will need to find pre-facelift ones (which are way easier to find anyway) thanks for for the info will try ringing around Try ebay and ignition-x

  4. No offence mate but I think ur wasting ur money wen u could spend the same amount n upgrade to a Sportivo. But hey its ur car n ur money so fair enough. In my humble opinion if u wanna spend the money and are lazy do wat CORZZA did n find a good car dealer that will trade ur car in for a sportivo in transfer ur mods for u. ;) :) :D http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...ic=7270&hl=
  5. Sorry Gazoom gonna hav to vote against u there... Paint the rear mudflaps body coloured instead of getting the rear skirt FTW :D
  6. You can legally only go 2 inches bigger than stock therefore this rules out 18" so if u wanna do it legal I guess ur limited to 17" :(
  7. Due to the release forms it can't be a criminal matter (or at least I'm pretty sure), but I think it can be argued in the civil courts under 'contributory negligence' and 'duty of care' (if those are what they are called in the US legal system).
  8. It is legal to go below your speed symbol as long as it doesn't go to a speed rating less than 140kph (I can't remember what the letter for this is). But technically you must have a little sticker on the bottom right hand side of ur windshield clearly indicating your speed rating is below factory tyres. I read this in an RTA online pdf file which was posted in this forum once but I cannot find it at the moment. But if I do find it I will re-post it. EDIT I found that article: RTA - Vehicle Standards Information - Guidelines for alternative wheels and tyres Here is the part you were enquiring about:
  9. I know this has been argued before but is this legal in NSW??? (is the exposed pod filter deemed to be "outside the engine bay" when it is mounted near the fog light? n can u get away with it if it is a dry filter instead of an oiled one?) Dont know where the line is ... really not black or white .. ive had a cop look under my bonnet and he didnt care ... but im sure others would kick a stink up about it .. and we arent at the point where we have to get the car checked at rego time yet .. in regards to the oiled or non oiled .. are you asking that for legal reasons too ?? or just what we are using ? The oiled or not question was also about the legality cos apparently it is legal in Victoria if it is a dry filter (non oiled)

  12. Hey dude thanks for the interest. Well offers come in tonight at 9pm (on the Universities Admission Center website) so I'm not totally sure yet but the entry to my course was a UAI of 89.15 last year and I got 96.30 so I'm pretty sure I've got in (but I'll confirm tonight). Cheers, Jared :) EDIT: Sorry about straying off topic ppl
  13. Hey I know this may seem like a stupid question but did ur tail lights come like that or did u put a globe in urself for the light closest to the inside (the red one) to light up. Cos im pretty sure they dont come like that from the factory (well mine doesnt light up)???
  14. I dont know who makes them but you can actually buy ones like these (although they can b a lil more colour matched than the above tho I cant talk my drawings werent much better LOL)
  15. How where can u get this vinyl (but in silver) so I can make my eyelids to fit my headlight protectors. Thanks in advance for the help O by the way here are some ideas even though they may seem plain i reckon they are damn stylish! (the first one is just for comparative reasons)
  16. In the Corolla AWD the engine is mounted "east to west" not "north to south" like what RWD cars (and other AWD systems such as Subaru's AWD cars) have so unless u have A SH!T-LOAD of money to replace the chasis n do some mods to the firewall and play around with everything like that you can't really make a RWD out of the rolla (but nothing is impossible). O btw that corolla with the 3S-GTE still has an "east to west" engine mount. This may sound very confusing but with AWD's that have a "east west" engine mounting the front diff separates the drive between the front n rear wheels due to the lack of a centre diff so it is still pretty much a front wheel controlled car albiet with limited drive to the rear wheels. Whereas AWD's with a "north south" engine mounting have a centre diff which can accordingly split drive between the front n rear diff accordingly and are more of a true AWD (or 4WD). Sorry if this is not all 100% correct as I am no expert (so correct me if any part of this was wrong). And sorry if I have confused ppl im not the best at explaining this.
  17. 1. Im not 100% sure on price but for $8000 you'll only get 6-8 yr old version in 2WD as 4WD is significantly more.
  18. Can he get the AEM bypass valves as well??? (like with the CAI)
  19. LOL One problem it would be in Miles per hour not Kilometers per hour. But u could prob get one from Japan similar.

    My Ascent

Welcome dude, nice car... I hope u enjoy ur stay!
  21. Check out the link below and you'll see that ur rolling diameter is out as well as the fact that your tyres are as stated above too wide for this car... I would go back and complain n get them to change your tyres to an appropriate profile such as 205/45R17 or 215/40R17 http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
