  1. Yeah, I'm looking to do it like that too, hardwire to the ignition like my DRLs, and have it overwrite itself unless it senses a collision. I passed that video to the NZ Police, so I'll see what becomes of that next week. Probably might not get a response though, its only a community report thing, but it should still give him a nice shock to learn that unfortunately for him the person he decided to pull that stupid stunt on had a dash cam rolling.
  2. Quite true, the GoPro weighs a lot when its enclosed in its waterproof case :P Its not too much hassle. Copying files to another drive obviously takes longer than simply deleting them. If there is nothing worth keeping after i get home and connect up to my computer, I just delete it. Not much point keeping it. It has a 16GB card which is good for about 2.5 hours worth of 1080p video. Though in future I might get an external drive to store it all on. Yes you can get cameras that record the date/time, sense collisions etc, but until then the GoPro is good enough :)
  3. Not a bad idea...only problem, not sure its entirely legal eh
  4. Why on earth would you black out that shiny badge on the boot
  5. Your neighbour has a Lamborghini?....Sheesh, where do you live?
  6. I would think so. Scratches would be harder to see on a white car than say, a black car
  7. There are two radio transmitters (one covers the cabin area the other one covers the outside of the car when you place your hand on the drivers door handle) The one inside the cabin is the one that detects the smart key, not sure if a non smart system Aurion would have either of those transmitters.
  8. As promised I said I'd let you know how i got on haha, and here it is. It was actually a bit easier than I thought. I was going to use the cigarette lighter like you suggested but then in the end I did manage to use the connection for the main beam (forgot to take a pic of it before i taped it up), but by using the connector that came with the DRLs i crimped them both together and put them back in the main beam plug. I've attached some pics for you .
  9. Got mine done yesterday, the service lady told me maybe 3 out of 100 cases they need to order a new window control unit, but mine was fine, pulled out and checked it, put back in no issues.
  10. That sounds a bit suspicious, even if its not for the Aurion one would think a genuine TRD item would cost a lot more
  11. I have a brand new one for $200 if your interested, still boxed. Thanks for the offer but nah I decided to get a pair of DRLs and get it serviced instead
  12. Was also keen on getting a genuine TRD start button for my ZR6..until i saw the price ($350) No thanks!!!
  13. Ok thank you, cigarette source sounds the best option at this point so I'll try that, how hard is it to get the wire/control box inside the cabin? I got the Philips 4 LEDs because I originally intended to try and fit them in the foglight surround, but as thats not really the best idea theyll go under the lower air dam like in your photo. Aside from inside the cabin though, what is the next best option from the main beams? I tried to fit the wire inside the terminal on the low beam connector but its just too big to fit in there
  14. Thanks alot Satori, where exactly is the cigarette source in the engine bay? I got a little confused at the part where you test each pin and the right one will light up the blue LED on the control box, but then it shows another cable going from the source to the one touch connector, then to the control box itself? I don't think itll matter for me if they don't turn off with the parkers, I don't drive around with them on anyway.
  15. I got a set of Philips DRLs with 4 LEDs each with the intention of somehow cutting out part of the foglight and installing them there. After further investigation Ive decided its probably not feasible, given that the foglight surrounds are permanently attached to the lower bumper (Oh why Toyota) and don't pop out like some cars. So then I settled on mounting them on the lower air dam under the grille, since I can't really think of anywhere else. As for the wiring, the Philips installation video says to pull out the parker lights and test each connection to see which one to connect up. The parker lights are completely inaccessible, and I would really rather not have to pull the bumper or wheel arch off so could I just attach it to the main beams?
  16. I find I don't really need a speed alert, because if you need to worry about your speed its usually when you don't have much traffic and have a open road ahead of you, I just use cruise control in those cases, because if im in traffic then chances are that the traffic is moving slow anyway
  17. Got the letter from Toyota about a week ago, going to get it done when I take it in for its service
  18. not sure if you can separate the aircon/CD stacker, but the Prodigy will have digital climate control so if you can't seperate it then that won't work. And also that one is not a CD stacker, its only a CD player.
  19. correct, only the drivers seat has the up/down and seat cushion angle adjustment option. It was the same setup in my previous 99 Camry.
  20. I don't use it, find it too annoying, beeping whenever I have to pass a truck or some other slow moving vehicle
