Ok. I've been MIA recently and was previously tossing up the idea to have an engine conversion, but .. I've decided to NOT go ahead with any conversion and keep it all niice and original. There was speak of stricter rules with conversions and not having able to engineer it. So I bought a soarer as my main car and keep the crown in the garage for weekends! thanks to all who shared the love.

i DIDN'T spot Heinz behind me, smelling my hair and undressing me in his mind, for 5 mins.

Hehehe. It's not 'low' yet though muahaha. I'm still annoying him at work and giving him crazy ideas. Airbag it and whack a lexus V8 in there uleh! niice my first spot! - i think. hahah u wont be content until it has a 5mm clearance from the ground. its pretty ridiculously low atm.. the clearance at the rear guards are ridiculously disgusting. if anything i need to raise it. ahahah.. and the V8 wont happen in the near future (dammit) .. ive spent enough on it already and now going on to my next project, ta22, which i pick up on the w/e. who wants to fix the blown head gasket?! YAY!

hypothetically... if you had your own lil airplane
Canyonero replied to JJCRU23R's topic in Club Lounge
Oh dude, I try to avoid anythign to do with landing in Manilla. I'd rather jsut stop over at some other country in Asia then fly from there to Cebu. The from there, I boat it - and pray. must be a boeing 767-400 or a 747 (or something of similar size) to cover that distance in that time... a 'lil airplane would take much longer, one would think. 3-4-5 hours.. you wont make it on the news. but if you decide to kayak it, it will only take you a 62 days and front page for a day. -
yeah fo sure. so many ideas and opinions were thrown around in regards to the conversion. Keen to see/hear his car.. but yeah this whole conversion stuff is interesting.. so many options

Hey guys, For the past few weeks I've been fussing about and hoping to buy myself a 1967 toyota Crown. There was alot of uncertainty with this because as soon as I saw this beast for sale, I had to have it and placed my Vitara for sale almost immediately. AND I GOT IT! Here are some pics of her.. I do believe that the previous owner made a few posts here on TOC.

I've imported my Skyline from Japan last year. It all went well.. I won a car at an aution for 16k, paid it and then 2 months later it was in Australia. After that, I had to do the usual - take it over the pits, put it on my name etc.. There are HEAPS of importers, some just specialise in importing specific makes. I'd probably suggest looking at the forums that Hots suggested.. and also, pick up a copy of HPI magazines, great read and give you heaps of ads of importers. ALSO - just came to me.. You could probably google, for example, 'supra imports importers melbourne' and I'm sure there will be heaps of importers who have some already landed.

That's an awesome analogy! Cheers! I've recently posted a new topic in the classic section about an engine conversion for a 60's crown here. If anyone can recommend anything or give any feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, I'm not all that familiar with this sorta stuff so go easy on me! :( hahah My old man and I are looking for a late 60's Crown. There's abit of a story behind why we want one, but I'm looking into having the engine swapped - if we find one that hasn't already. I'm not looking to break a new speed record, I'm just looking to have a newer engine installed that's got abit more oomph! and lifespan. Are there any common engine conversions for this type of car? I've heard that a common one is a Chevy engine? Costs? Umm.. I'm not sure whatelse is involved apart from buying the engine and then putting it in.. so, any feedback would be awesome! Cheers!
-
Yeah please, if you wouldn't mind. I'm really interested on what needs to be done after buying the engine.. apart from obviously swapping it over <_< But all the other things you need to do.. which I'm really uncertain of. I sorta have this visual in my head where I'm comparing this to upgrading a video card in a PC. And THAT is how technical I can get.

It reminds me of a mouse. As in.. computer mouse. Is there anywhere online where you can create your own bodykits on different cars? I just need to waste away time here at my desk.

I had a similar problem after the dash was removed so they could install the horn and rewire some stuff so the original guages could work again, but when i picked mine up the tacho stopped working after a couple of hours. Eventually I just took it back and they had to conenct 1 wire back in place.. the annoying part was removing and putting the dash back in. Its at stage of being fragile and brittle at the moment, so they had to make sure that they didn't have to force anything back in. They didnt charge me anything and I got free parking in town, ohh riighht. All is good.

Those ones above.. the... 4AGZE or the 1JZGTE? So around 2,000. Niice.. I've been looking into doing the same thing, but being not all that tech savvy when it comes to engines and conversions, I'm really not sure where to start! So I'll be hoping that you keep us (me) up to date with your progress/issues! ;)

I bought a shirt that simply says, "I AM THE STIG."
