  1. I have one for sale atm. does make a slight difference to throttle response despite what some mat say. PM me if you want it.
  2. not hard to do and i think form memory there is a set of directions in the box they come in. PM JC as he has whiteline and koni's yellows. Works well together!!
  3. Just for the info of members in NSW and VIC CES does have authorised agents in both states who do fitment etc.
  4. having hyper extended a limb before I just cringed while watching that. It is not a nice feeling when you see part of your body bent at an angle it's not supposed to be bent at.
  5. Metal cat FTW !!!!!!!!! :P :P :P :P :P Putting that on a 1zz is over kill. 2.25" tops unless you are doing a hell of a lot of internal work. Come on SB ..... wen u charge ur 1zz ur gonna wanna get those gases out the back end as quickly as possible hence upping to 2.5" ...... u knw just like wen u consume things @ hooters u gotta clear the rear due to the amount of gases extruding from u    you only need a metal cat cause the homus sauce you put in the tank is extremely flammable!! :P Mate hooters didn't kill me but that kebab you got us at the show and shine last year had me with pin point accuracy. crapping through the eye of a needle!! It was a race at the F1 as to who would get to ues the toilet first lol I pulled rank as the oldest hehehehe
  6. CES is more than just the diameter of the pipe. Many have tried to copy but cannot reproduce the gains made or keep the noise levels legal and sounding very nice. Cat back almost removes the torque hole itself but add the headers and CAI and the progression onto lift isn't as severe as the engine is making more power off lift. you could use the stock muffler by why?? it's restrictive!! As far as a twin loop muffler is concered why make the exhaust system longer and more restictive?? you basically run through the rear muffler twice adding length to the system. Why not just use a muffler that you only have to pass through once to achieve the same result??? CES mufflers on the catback are custom made and sound nice and quiet when just commuting around but open it up and it has a nice note that doesn't drone, cackle or bark. What more could you want?? Plus it is legal as far as noise levels are concerned. CES do have a copyright on their catback systems so if someone does try and copy it and then sell them off they could end up with nice lawsuit for breach of copyright regulations. I'd like to see the copyright. how can you possible copyright the assembly of parts that they didnt manufacture themselves. anyone getting a stainless 2.5" system on there car is in danger of breaching copyright... theres no signature peice of development on their systems at all. I doubt that they Build the Muffler and it looks awful like A LOT of stainless steel Mufflers on the market.. Infact i have been told by a few exhaust mechanics that they are just a redback mufflers. Mufflers are custom made especially for Sportivo. CES now use them on a few other applications as well. Their design to suit the application they wanted to use them for. And no they aren't a redback muffler. As far as copyright is concerned you can copy the pipe diameter all you want but the resonator and the muffler are what makes the system effiicient and where the Copyright comes into play. You will always get people trying to copy someone else's design simply becuase they aren't good enough to design it themselves. so does this ultimately mean that using the stock muffler with 2.5inch catback is pointless? meaning very minimal gains? Straight to the top of the class there mate!! Ever stood behind a sportivo on full noise?? sounds like a vacuum cleaner!! Hisses quite badly which means restriction. Stock system is 59.7mm or there abouts. 2.25" in metric equals 57.15mm. 2.5" in metric equals 63.5mm. It's hard to explain to some people here as you aren't familiar mechanically with how exhaust systems work. the size of the ports on a 2zz are huge for a 1.8 N/A engine. the head flows exceptionallly well from factory thus needs a free flowing system to pull the gases from the ports. That's why you add a set of stock ported headers and the difference is noticable straight away. no shrouding of the port on the head from the mismatch from the header flange. continue down the system. sportivo cat is big and again flows very well for a 1.8 N/A car. the only reason to change this cat is if you are going forced induction. the money you spend on a cat for a 1-2kw gain is riciculous. the stock system after the cat has a small decrease in diameter for some reason creating a restriction. all the stock systems decrease in diameter near the resonator then at the rear muffler. why not increase the diameter by a whopping 3.5-4 mm and let it flow better and more evenly??? This is what CES has done combined with a free flowing resonator and rear muffler. Putting that on a 1zz is over kill. 2.25" tops unless you are doing a hell of a lot of internal work.

  8. Obviously the bloke is a goose. the stock system is in metirc measurements very close to 2.25". So why replace the stock system with something that is almost exactly the same??? As for trying everything he couldn't have tried too much cause we haven't seen any custom headers or anything like that have we?? CES' 2.5" catback make a vast improvement in increasing bottom end and filling in the torque hole between 4-6000rpm. add headers and CAI and it is totally non existent. ask Natedog6 I'm sure he'll happily tell you how his car now performs......
  9. might make it out now. My appointment has been moved to 6pm till 7pm so may get there in time. can't wait to hear the Nate mobile!!!!
  10. simple mate. If you are interested then PM me and i will send you my bank details. you deposit into my account then once it's cleared I send it to you via registered post.
  11. obviously nobody wants anything anymore........
  12. Hooter's in Sydney just ain't the same if I'm not there to "jazz" it up a little.....
  13. you must of had your foot flat to get to that speed ;)
  14. Can the Silvia keep up is the question that should be asked LOL i'm out guys. 8pm is too early for me as i have an appointment at 7pm and won't be done in time. Besides too many "law upholders" around at that time too.....
  15. OK the prices are there so who on the list is still wanting to do this??? If I don't hear from you in this thread by the end of this week (16th AUG) I will assume you no longer want to get the CES stuff at a discounted price. If you are then we will organise deposits etc etc.
  16. Yes there is a difference. 2ZZ CAI is 3" in diameter and 1ZZ is 2.5". there is also a difference between pre and facelift 1ZZ's as well. the 2ZZ CAI won't work on the 1ZZ. Too big. You can put a 1ZZ on a sportivo but you will lose power to the tune of about 8kw's or so.
  17. You like these wheels on a silver car?? i did too and put a set on my car about 18 months ago or more. I no longer own it but current owners still have same rims on car. Red calipers and brake hubs FTW. :P
  18. Didn't start this thread to highlight or promote illegal street racing. It was just a topic for fellow car enthusiasts to express their views on a particular comparison arising from a chanced encounter, with the hope of possibly enlightening others on the characteristics and potential of the cars in question. I pretty much think there will be enough info on a Sportivo on here to see what the potential of the car has. A "chanced encounter" is pretty much on the road which means street racing. You mighten be promoting it but you have people who are silly enough to say " i race a such and such down such and such a street and we were doing this speed and i nearly beat him." To me that is encouraging other to tell of their stories of their street racing. Like I said before if people want to talk about breaking the law then do it on MSN. Or I will delete any posts mentioning any illegal road activity.
  19. Guys if are wanting to talk about street racing then use msn as this forum isn't the place to do it. No problems if you are talking about track/strip but TOCAU does not support street racing in any form.
  20. Been there done that so to speak. Plus 200sx's, 180sx's, skylines and a myriad of honda's. A sportivo with a good driver will surprise a hell of a lot bigger fancied rivals. you may not win but it won't be the runaway you think it will.
  21. contact any of the moderators to purchase one or myself directly.
  22. super lows in the back mate!! slightly higher spring rate and will improve it out of sight. also adjust the rear up to be slightly harder than the front.
  23. pictures aren't working mate. Might be able to help if they did. You shouldn't have to remove all the egr stuff to fit the CAI.
  24. It does fit sort of. but looks out of place as the intake runners on the corolla are at a different angle to the celica so looks kinda weird.
