  2. there is a noise difference between single tip and twin tips. Tested it and twins are nearly 1.4db louder.....

  7. nulon pro strength is the best on the aussie market. and also one of the cheaper ones. a test was done on octane boosters in Australia a few years ago with the leading brands at the time and this one was the best hands down. Certainly makes a difference that i can personally vouch for!!
  8. I still don't really like the look of them. they look like a ZZE123 facelift that has been exposed to major heat and started to melt. Plus the front looks too much like a Yaris of the same model. give me the tough boxy look of a ZZE123 prefacelift anyday.....

  11. $16-$18500 depending on condition. Better of returning it to stock for an easy sale. Only a handfull of us here have sold our cars totally modded and got the money we asked ;) Most have dropped price by a lot and still got no real interest. Return to stock and sell off your goodies and make some extra cash.
  12. More power yes but choose the right type of LSD for what you primarily do. Are you more track oriented with a lil bit of street driving or the other way round?? LSD on the street can be a real biatch. I think Xoom runs a quaife LSD 1.5way. Xoom if you red this is that right??

  14. Leave the front stock and put a heavy sway on the rear. Need the front wheels on the ground to get some power down not lifting them when cornering.
  15. Yep bingo!! Pivot on clutch arm needs lubrication. not a real easy job but can done. Mine needed doing not long before I sold it.

  18. Sunday 3rd of August: Cruise to O'Reilly's Green Mountains Meet up at MacDonald's at Nerang at 9:30am, grab some nibblies and drinks. From there cruise up to O'Reilly's Via Canungra (has been named one of the best driver's roads in SE QLD) so it should hopefully be a good run. Once up there, we can have a look around, and have a chat. We will leave whenever we feel like it and cruise back, probably to a servo or something, we will decide on the day.   19. Penrite semi synthetic is my choice. A full synthetic is too thin for everyday use as on cold start ups most of it has drained back into the sump. Your mineral based oils are slightly thicker and don't drain back as quick. The semi synthetics are synthetic fortified with some mineral based oil blended to give you the best of both worlds.
  20. Whiteline springs are a bit on the softer side say compared to the kings. If you don't want the back to bounce around then switch to kings lows and put super lows in the rear. The slightly heavier spring rate controls it very nice and the car will set nice and level. Hi JC!!! Do some work!!
  21. There will be 2 part number for 2ZZ headers. One number is for prefacelift and one for post facelift. the difference is only because of US models having pollution gear on their cars. They have an air pump on the later models i think that pumps air into the headers to neutralise the exhaust gases somewhat. Our models have the blanks in the head for it but obviously aren't fitted. If you look at the flange of our headers you will see that above each pipe their is a little lump on the flange. That blocks off where the air pump would normally be. As for intakes 2ZZ is the same for all post/prefaclift models. 1ZZ however has 2 different models. Earlier 1ZZ which have a throttle cable(say 2002 - 2006ish) will be one part number and the other will be for the later drive by wire 1ZZ. difference in throtle body as well as the CAI will have a large pipe outlet just before the throttle body which is for an engine breather. If you are unsure about which one to get for your car or if there is no listing for the difference between 1ZZ models etc our forum sponsor CES has both 1ZZ and 2ZZ intakes available here in Australia. roughly the same design as the TRD but with a few improvements. check out the traders section for more info.

  23. Anyone got a dyno sheet showing gains of a CAI from Liverpool exhausts?? Seat of the pants dyno doesn't tell me much at all as what some think is a gain is actually noisepower not horespower. Be keen to see one if someone has a before and after!! If you are on ebay look for Matrix TRD CAI. That will fit ZZE122/3 Corolla's.
  24. Rattling type noise is also worse when your car is cold and you have the A/C switched on. As for gear selector cables rattling there is a solution and it's a relatively easy fix. If you have warranty left toyota will cover it or else you just need to stop them from hitting on the heat shield of the exhaust manifold.
  25. where not talking a lot of money - i got the exhaust manifold for around $80 your money and i can get the inlet and throttleboby for around $140......... cams are something i have been thinking about, the only ones i know of for the 2zz-ge are Piper cams - they claim to improve low down torque and give a few more ponies at the top end, they have a dyno chart on there website. If anyone has tried these i would be interested to hear or if you are running differnt cams your reviews are wanted!! i'm not talking about money but moreso about time and effort for work that mighten yield a lot of gains without other additional mods. Superdave is currently looking into cams here in Brisbane through a guy i know. He is a guru and is doing some R&D on cams for the 2ZZ
