  1. Mate this forum does not condone any form of street racing. If you want to tell stories of street racing then please use boostcruising. The long arm of the law do frequent car forums as well looking for such info just in case you need me to give you a reason. cheers....
  2. If it keeps cracking welds then it is either dodgy workmanship or the system is stressed in some way ie not made correctly with sufficient movement on mounts to allow it to move with engine.
  3. I jst spoke to Neil , he reckons a normal sportivo puts out only 100kw atw and an exhaust & CAI brings it to 110 kw atw :s So what does call a normal sportivo?? In my history a sportivo pre facelift before the recall from toyota made roughly 95-100kw atw and after the recall(and facelifts models) about 103-112kw atw(Azza's red sportivo) so there is a big difference to be had.
  4. No the sportivo headers ownt fit as they are totally different. Get the sportivo system flanged and get the system flanged that is one the car and then bot it together. Any DECENT exhaust shop should be able to do it.
  5. Well another National Meet has come and gone and a big thank you to all the interstate members who made the journey up here to sunny err well a lil bit sunny QLD. Wished I could have attended everything but work kinda stuffed that for this year. A massive thank you to Daryl and Mick as they pretty much shouldered most of the hard yards of running this years event as my spare time to do so was somewhat limited. You guys did a great job and should be proud of your efforts!! The night cruise on friday night was fun and gave the interstaters a peek at just how lucky we are in Brissy to have some great driving roads so close to town! Thanks to Torque Toyota North Lakes for again agreeing to host the show and shine and to the show and shine sponsors Meguiars and Liqui Moly. From what I have heard the winners were pretty happy with the prizes etc!! Thanks to Hogs Breath and Indro for not running out of ice cream for the huge desserts they made for us!! Waitress told me that it was a record to make that many in one night!! TOCAU sets another record LOL So many other things Daryl, Mick and myself did talk about wanting to do over the course of a National Meet but we just simply couldn't find the time to make it all fit in!! For those who did the cruise today a big thanks for your co-operation and patience with me leading the cruise in the Hilux powerhouse. Hopefully it wasn't too slow for but with the road conditions like they were better to be safe than sorry!! The ZRE from down south that decided to have a nap in the spoon drain was no match for the mighty Hilux who plucked him out and back to safety in a matter of minutes without a hitch!!(pardon the pun LOL) And then there was the go karts.... Mick going fully sik toyko drift style from one side of the track to the other to the more ample girthed among us like myself, Andrew and Jimmy to the horse jockeys and fly weights like Peter, Daniel and Danny!! We had a blast and I will be sore for a few days to come but I did fly the flag for the big men and I think myself and Peter tied for first with a win and a second each with Jesse from memory coming third. There were prizes for the go karts so we will post them out to the winners!! That's all from me so i'm off to bed to get some sleep before another day at work tomorrow. cheers SB

  12. Sportivo's depending on model and age will make stock between 100 - 112kw. Best stocko I have seen made 112kw atw. Not sure anyone else can verify this but to achieve anything above 125kw atw you will have to spend a fair bit of cash with all the normal mods(CAI, Headers and exhaust) plus aftermarket ECU and some good tuning. I made 123kw atw with CAI,headers and exhaust but beyond that kind of figure you will be doing internal work on the engine(cams etc etc) To get 140kw atw you will need a very fat cheque book.
  13. You sure there is no difference in strut leg diameter like there is between corolla and sportivo? Corolla 46mm vs sportivo 51mm?? Let me know if you don't get an answer as I will talk with My suspension boffins and get an answer!!
  14. The myth that springs settle is rubbish. It is bushes that cause the drop in height. Eg bushes on rear torsion housing mounts at stock height run at say point a. You fit springs and lower it now the bush is twisted to run at point b. What happens over time is that the bush starts to soften due to the tension placed on it from lowering the car hence the drop in height. It has nothing to do with the spring!!!!! When you fit springs in the rear of a corolla you MUST loosen the torsion housings mount bolts off a lil and re index the bush or it will slowly over time become softer and softer due to increased pressure from suspension now sitting at a different angle. Easiest way to do it is loosen bolts off and tighten just a little then do for a quick drive. Throw it around a few corners till the bushes find their new happy spot. Then tighten back up to specks and away you go. As for the car sitting level put lows in the front and super lows in the rear. The height difference front to rear is under 3mm. Sportivo's sit approx 15 mm higher than ascent all round plus all corollas sit higher in the bum by roughly 15mm hence using lows in the front (35mm drop) and super lows in the rear(50mm drop) will get the car to sit almost dead level and improve handling as well on good quality shocks. It will kill oem shocks quick so go with konis or kyb excel g's depending on your budget. I ran 17 x 7 with 215/40/17 and had tyre touch inner guard only once with 3 in the back on a big dip. Again the right offset on your wheels is crucial to the way you car will handle and ride. I have set up a lot of corollas this way and it works a treat and makes the car a joy to drive fast or slow.

  21. In all the time we have met at the loop I can recall the Police coming in there about 3 times. Twice they drove through and did nothing. Once they stopped and asked what we were doing. I replied catching up for coffee and a chat(as there were a few with hot drinks in hand). They told us we couldn't meet here and then looked at all the cars. Everyone was parked in a parking spot between all the lines so there was nothing they could do as we were all behaving ourselves. When one of them asked me why we meet where we do I replied because we wanted to get away from the morons who hang around milton Maccas doing stupid stuff. Plus I told them we didn't want such behaviour or we'd kick the offenders out. They got in the car and drove off and haven't seen them back since....
  22. Get you headers ported, cat back exhaust and throw in a CAI. Then once you have real cash do cams and rods, valve train etc. Headers, cat back and CAI netted me 123kw atw on my sportivo with 113000k's on the clock. I had CES headers, cat back and a TRD cai with ITG filter.
  23. Won't make it out tonight. Stuck at the shops with the boss. I have found some more forum stickers for those who missed out!! Daryl/ Mick give me a call over the weekend to touch base on nat meet stuff.
