  1. 2zzge cam cover perfect for someone to get polished and dress up Your engine. They polish up really well!! Have a look in My garage for pics. $120 plus freight to your door.
  2. Sounds like clutch plate has popped a spring. Northy did 2 exceedy and a TRD all in the same way. The housing around the spring cracks and then the spring falls out and jams it in gear. He got stuck in 3rd gear on the freeway in peak hour traffic and drove from Beenleigh to Springwood to Toyota to get it fixed LOL They only ever break from driver abuse......
  3. OK so who is still keen to do this? I'm thinking we make it our TOCAU christmas party outing/dinner. BBQ at the track and race away!! Thursday night still an option for everyone?? Late november/ early december at the latest?? Give me your thoughts......
  4. Really? Sorry im not really good at these stuff, but correct me if im wrong. So if i dont have a specialise mech to help with me this, its best not to fit this onto my car right? Whats happening now is one of my mates re direct me to one of the perfromance upgrade shop mechanic, i drove my car in today and shown him the kn apollo plus the oem filterbox and where the maf sensor is, he pretty much said the same thing, but he said to me he will build me a custom made pipe to have the kn apollo fitted along maf attached of course, is that what you mean by custom made?? CES racing can make one for you if you wish. Give them a call on 07 3200 2333. there is a few member on here with a CAI from these guys and they are extrememly happy with the results...
  5. Finally another Hilux owner to bolster the minority ranks wah hoo!! Good one Hamish!! hope it all goes well for you!!
  6. The price of CES headers is if you dont return your stock headers to them. It is on an exchange basis. PPE headers are good but also require you to change the mid pipe, cat and muck around with o2 sensor fitment as well. Bit more modifying of stuff to make them fit. Hence they just dont "bolt" in.
  7. Are you 100% sure the spring is sitting in the spring perches properly. Also the other big mistake people make is not seating the strut tops on the strut shaft properly. Did you line the strut top up on the shaft so it fits on the strut shaft where the 2 flats are machined out of the shaft? If they are not lined up with the flats on the shaft then it will sit about 5mm higher!! also ensure the rubber boot on the top of the spring is aligned properly as well. That can also be an issue. FYI dont forget to get another wheel alignment once you get it sorted!!
  8. Im heading overseas shortly so when I return we will set a date which will be sometime in late sept/ early oct.
  9. Daryl's already done Hoppy's LOL.... Might be out tonight but not 100% sure yet....
  10. Nothing wrong with owning a VW - the older the better I say and the more it will be worth with the passing of each day!! Money in the bank for me LOL As for taking the **** out of newbs take it easy not everyone has leather for skin like Mick Plus dont forget any of you that I do have disc brakes ok........ you have been warned LOL
  11. If you are looking for a 2ZZ specific CAI then CES racing do make one. the one for the Matirx XRS does require a bit of body massaging so to speak and pod filter sits hard on fog light. Here's a link to the CES CAI http://www.cesracing.com.au/products_7.htm
  12. Cmon mate even a problem plagued sportivo has had less visits for recalls to the dealership than the blue boat anchor you got now lol
  13. So here is what has been bantered around. Go karts followed by BBQ at the go kart track for our end of year Chrissy party. Dates I have looked at are ... Thursday 24th nov Thursday 1st dec Thursday 8th dec Doing it on a Thursday night means we have more chance of booking the track for us as a group. Post in this thread which date suits and the that suits the majority we will go with. Kingston Park Raceway Cost - $100 approx Idea - practice, qualify, then 3-4 races (qualify times, reverse grid etc etc) Would need at least 15 people to make it work. A $50 deposit would be required before the event to secure your spot. If for some reason you cannot make it then find somebody to replace you as it will be non refundable. Add you name to the list below.... 1. Silvabullit 2. DJKOR 3. Mick 4. Branno 5. daniboy 6. STYLSH 7. Stewbie 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15.
  14. It's a CES system. It's a bit dirty!! Get under there and polish it up LOL
  15. So who is keen for the go kart idea?? 24th is a no go for me as well!! Already got me another function on that day......
  16. Would make it for early september to give people time to save. Would ask for a deposit to secure your spot. And it would be non refundable unless you get someone to take your place....
  17. So who would be keen for a night at the go karts at Kingston?? Costs roughly $100 for a corporate style package with multiple races, practice and qualify etc. After the fun of the nat meet who's keen for another stouche??
  18. From memory yes but it has been a while since I looked at one.
  19. Any idea when mcm is going to be around?? Just so I can make sure the battery is charged and have some fuel in the kombi!! Just for the stir factor eh??
  20. Ok guys let's all move on please. Enough of the slaying for comments that might be seen as argumentative or provocative. We've got over all that so if you have a comment about Sri vs cai then add that to this thread please. Or I'll get the big stick out and start wrapping people over the knuckles.....
  21. FYI yes I'm in Brisbane And my info comes from my best mate who is a traffic cop and topped his intake on traffic law so I'm pretty confident he knows exactly what he is talking about. As for frequently asked questions not being updated since 2006 there is only soo many ways you can ask about a cai,Sri etc etc. Hence why they have prolly not needed to be updated as there is only so Many ways to invent the wheel and they have pretty much been done. Although you think your questions are new and your research is what you may think is cutting edge it is almost a given that it has been asked before. So that's why I simply point you towards using the search button and spending some time reading so you don't get crucified by some members for asking an age old question. One more thing is when you ask for members opinions take them on board and don't simply ask for opinions then proceed to tell people their wrong and you are right. Not the best way to make friends on a forum!! Enjoy your stay on TOCAU. there is a huge amount of info here to read and assist you with your car. Happy reading!!.
  22. I had super lows in the rear of my sportivo and my exhaust never broke. It used to just touch on monster speed bumps and that was about it. Then again it was stainless steel and made by CES so quality is a given thing!!
  23. When you get round to doing exhaust and suspension on your corolla do yourself a favour and use the SEARCH button as it will save a lot of people from telling you info which you seem to kinda disregard and you won't have people having an "argument " or a "discussion" which ever you may call it. There are plenty of threads covering the subjects so please don't start another one. Btw on the topic of street racing you need to do Some research on your defined term of street racing. Being I get my info straight from the horses mouth so to speak (police officer who specializes in traffic law) "street racing" doesn't have to involve exceeding over the speed limit or spinning the wheels but engaging of the act of racing another vehicle irrespective of the speed involved. Plus you also be charged with undue noise by manner of operation which means revving your engine unnecessarily. So be careful as I know of 2 members who used to be on this forum that lost their licenses for street racing and only "accelerated" up to 70 km/hr in a 70 zone and got done. Car impounded for 48 hours and fines, points as well......
