  1. The majority of CES' work is one off custom made stuff. Anything they put into production only gets to the production stage by multiple inquiries from people or they can see that it is going to be something of a viable nature. they are by no means wanting to rip you off, take your money and then tell you to get lost. They really value feedback from their customers on their products. Yes they are expensive but their work is top notch. They employ quality tradesmen and if you are involved in business you pay your staff well and they reward you with good work. They are heavily involved in motor racing circles from V8 supercars down doing R&D to supplying items. If enough Aurion owners got together and said "we want a good quality cat back that improves power but isn't noisy and legal then my guess is CES would certainly try and help you guys out. If you can get 5+ people to say we want it then it just may happen. The power of multiple voices can go a long way. That's how the Corolla stuff started.....
  2. Not a lot of sunshine up here at all ATM. Weather forecast is for wet stuff to clear by mid week, fine friday and saturday and possible shower sunday. I haven't seen any real flooding anywhere yet apart from a the odd creek flowing with water in it which is a novelty for us!! Sunday cruise is 8.30am meet up for 9am start. Bring 2 ways!!!!! This is a must and will make things a lot easier!!!! Only 4 more sleeps!!
  3. Twincam.org would be your best bet on older model corolla's like the one you are talking about.
  4. OK here is a list of addresses of meet points and places we are going for those who need them for GPS or their Navman's etc. Hotel Formule 1 Brisbane Airport 18 Navigator Place, ( Cnr. 5. been a bit cold the last few days because of the wet weather. but if it's a fine day usually day temps of about 22-25 deg so not bad. Some of the water parks are heated too!! Elan I'll shoot you a pm with my phone number. tell me where you are staying so we can organise a meet up point then get to Hooters.
  6. There is a slight increase in performance between the stock filter and the K&N panel filter. Fulda Excelero's are a good tyre but not as good as they used to be. They were made in Germany but now made in NZ and they're just not the same quality wise and performance wise. My bad on the prices too. Was thinking of 17's LOL
  7. you're 100% right there mate so it is simply impossible to campare the 2. For example you cannot compare the work CES does to the local exhaust shop who mig welds 4" fart cannons on cars all day long.
  8. Most here in Australia run the CES cat back systems on their Sportivos or a brand name replacement rear muffler. As far as CAi's go there are plenty of option as well as the TRD one. CES make one for 1zz and 2zz, AEM, Injen to name a few others.
  9. If you are not hittnig the track and the majority of your drivign is commuting the go with some springs and shocks. Will be cheaper and maintian a nice ride with a lowered stance.
  10. Well I guess you could always come up to Brissy for a nice drive cause I hear that there is a national meet on that weekend....
  11. The pics of the resonator and the cat a few posts above look to be almost identical to what is on the Sportivo Corolla in size, looks and dimensions. This is the same situation we had with the Corolla's a few years ago. everyone wanted someone else to do the hard yards and pay for the R and D on an exhaust system. Then whinge about someone actually doing it and having dyno proof. the whinges then turned into "those figures are wrong" etc etc etc etc. Guys if you want to get something done as far as exhausts are concerned then we have a forum sponsor who specialises in this sort of stuff. I put up the cash and time for the corolla stuff and the gains were great and worth every cent. Instead of talking about it why don't one of you Aurion guys in Brissy go and see CES and ask them to look at the car and see what is feasible as far as gains are concerned. This is why you should look in other sections of this forum instead of just staying in your own little corner. You'd be surprised at just how much info there is on TOCAU that you can directly relate to your car........ i would honestly be REALLY surprised/shocked/dumbfounded if the resonator was the same size as the corolla's one... this thing is MASSIVE... from the top of my head, its about a 7" diameter... in regards to CES.... i'm all for being a "guinea pig" with testing exhausts etc., but without ANY disrespect to you and CES, in the past, i've found their prices to be a LOT higher than other places that offer a similar product... i know that included in their price is their testing and research, but why do people need to pay for this over and over again? i can understand a slight increase in the price because its a tried and tested product, but the amount they charge, i just cant justify it... also, dont you think that if you're providing a company a car for them to do R&D on, then you shouldnt really be paying all that much for the exhaust... at the end of the day, by giving a company your car for R&D, you're making THEM a lot of future business... i didnt mean to insult you or CES, but its just my views on the matter... at the end of the day, i know they do quality work over there, but ME PERSONALLY, i just cant justify spending that much on an exhaust from them... Yes they are expensive but how many other exhaust shops will guarantee their products to the level CES will? Not to mention their systems(eg sportivo Corolla) are tested and designed to be legal as far as noise is concerned. Very few places will ever do that and I know this for a fact. I paid for my car to be the guinea pig yes and I love what I got cause I got the HP gains as well as it sounded nice without being loud or illegal and it comes with a certificate to say so.(proper DB tested certificate for RTA). So If I get pulled over I show the certificate(which I have done) and all is good. Yes they have made a lot out of me but if i ever need something they go out fo their way to get it for me. And for minor trivial jobs the cost is at a nicely reduced rate. Some people say that isn't fair but if you look at it from CES' side of things they've sold something like 30 plus catbacks, 10 plus set of headers and about 20 CAI's. Yep they have made a fair deal out of me Trevor is a mate of mine So I am happy to help him out as I know one day he will return the favour. But in saying all that when we started there was no intention of putting things into a production cycle just me getting some quality work done on my car. But as interest grew in the stuff I had done and more people asked about it I approached them about making more to sell. I basically proved with enquiries that is was viable so they did it. The big thing you must remember is that The Corollla and the Sportivo are made in larger numbers than Aurions of any model and the people who buy them are more likely to buy the product. Interest in an Aurion exhaust system would be very minimual as most Aurions are bought to be family cars and not someone's project to modify and improve. If guaranteed sales aren't there in a decent quantity then most companies CES included won't be interested. No exhaust shops around that I know of also do before and after dyno readouts to check on the gains made. That in itself takes time and at least you know you have paid for what you wanted - increase in power/torque. I have seen and heard of a lot people who have tried to copy CES' Corolla systems and only one has come close to making the HP increase but it was that loud noise wise and the drone was that fierce you couldn't drive it in traffic. Most others haven't made the power and all have the same problem...noise. That's why I paid what i did cuase I wanted it quiet and not attracting the attention of the Police plus it made the power increase and improved the driving the car out of sight. At the end of the day it is your car and your money and your decision who you go to get work done of whatever standard. But it's nice to know that shops like CES when you rock up with your car will tell you exactly where it needs the improvements and how it can be done and it can also sound nice AND legal. There are a lot of shops out there that sell "noisepower" and are happy to throw a couple of fart canons under the back to make it sound "sporty" as they say but do they make more power??? As I have said each to their own and it's your car and money so spend it as you wish to. I personally want the best and want quality work and with that comes a quality price tag. You either pay it or go somewhere else......
  12. Pete seeing as I did the nice thing and danced with the girlies last year I've put your name forward to do the same up here!! the camera's will be ready and waiting big fella!!!!
  13. Can't say i have heard of BC coilovers. You would be better off spending the same sort of money on quality shocks over cheap coilovers. Will be better for you in the long run with the sort of driving you will do more of.
