  1. I have recently had fitted the genuine Toyota illuminated scuff plates. These were fitted by an Auto Electrical workshop. At first my dealer never told me or knew to tell me I also needed to supply my A/elec. sparky with a patch harness that is used in conjunction with the scuff plates at installation time. The dealer printed out the fitting instructions and my sparky never seemed to understand them correctly as the wiring harness is not mentioned until the last paragraph or so of the instructions. At the same time I had the sparky fit strings of blue leds under dash and seats. My cost to buy the led strings $12. Long story but to cut it shorter the 2013 Camry SL in the workshop 3 days first visit and then another half day second visit. The scuff plates cost $185 part PT92203121, the harness part PZQ8533140 purchased later $133, then total paid for the fitting $525. Total for the pleasure of blue LEDS $843 ! Age and work prevents me doing these jobs myself. I wanted all the lighting to come on at once when either door is opened but, only get illumination at either left or right hand sides when the left or right door is opened. Lesson here ... be careful of what you wish for it can cause lots of stress and LOTS of money !
  2. Nope, not bulbs sealed in LED's. All my research shows blue only available in genuine & aftermarket lighted sills.
  3. Hi. has anyone fitted or had professionally fitted the genuine Toyota illuminated scuff plates ? These replace the original scuff plates and the front ones light up Camry in blue led. My auto elect tech. is struggling with the Toyota fitting instructions regarding the pick up for power at the kick panel control.
  4. Perhaps this link will help. At least you know what rim will fit then ask about the diameter of the rims you find. Years ago in my old Hiace i went from 14' to 15" Fairlane rims and lowered my engine revs considerably. still had heaps of torque. I cannot recall the tyre sizes. http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/Toyota/Camry%20(1992%20-%202001)/
  5. I include this link, it is remarkably handy for calculations of tyre/wheel size changes. http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html
  6. Are your tyres and or wheels original spec. sizes ? This can also be a factor in engine revs.
  7. Anything out of the normal day to day job is too hard and you get brushed off......
  8. It appears to me the models without now it have info screen with the new touch & drag feature. If it is a software only change it maybe available to us all to update our existing systems. Asking our friendly local dealer would be a start. Regretfully mine does not want to know anything about this new feature... Oh What A Feeling !
  9. I also would appreciate access to wiring diagrams for my ASV50 SL. I am researching installing interior lighting, front camera ect. Any one spotted web sites for wiring ?
  10. I agree, having used my TomTom Go750 for some time and now just bought my Atara SL I miss the information the Toyota does not give. I.E. red light cameras, over speeding warnings, vocal limit changes and also the actual road speed. I must use it one day and see how accurate the SL speedo is.
  11. Thanks for your input. Can any other SL owners confirm they have no wiring or fittings to their front red courtesy lamps ?
  12. Hello Tony, may I ask if your rear window spoiler is of a rubberised type of material ? It sticks on with 3m tape ? Are you happy with the quality and where did you buy it ?

    ATARA SL

Can any 2013 Atara SL owner confirm if there are courtesy lights fitted to the rear doors ? Mine has none and the front door red courtesy lights do not illuminate at all. I only purchased the car 4 weeks ago, it was a demonstrator Graphite Metalic. There are no other SL's around here to compare the courtesy lights with. Just seems strange a prestige car has no foot lighting.
