  1. Hey guys, got bored enough to try this out, thought a nice silver would make the colour of the illuminated door sills from the group buy. They still need to be clearcoated, but tell me what you think!
  2. I was lucky in regards to insurance, my Toyota dealer had Esanda and RACQ fight it out with each other. Esanda came back at the end with a free windscreen replacment every calendar year, and a premium $1 cheaper per month than RACQ. The free windscreen made me go straight for them!
  3. Ummm..... You can't really have a "rally edition" without the roof scoop, sort of a rally thing.... and if the one illustrated is S/C, the scoop on the bonnet is probably supporting a top mounted intercooler, a la Wrx. It's a rally edition, it's meant to look nasty and aggressive!
  4. Not trying to be an a$$hole, but how is it even possible to have read enough threads to post 25+ times and not know that posting about old topic gets your **** flamed.
  5. I've only got a 1zz Corolla but I'm agreeing with all the rest. I spent the 300~ to get a TRD Cai and the difference is quite obvious. You get a big more mid-range power, and the sound... omg <3 But yeah keep in mind the 2ZZ-GE really is made to be "flogged". Surely you noticed your redline is about 8400? (correct me if I'm wrong on that guys). When your engine reaches 6000rpm a set of high cams open right up and give the power another kick up the butt. I'm getting a Celica in about 5 months just for the lift yo!
  6. Hey Avi the first thing I would recommend you do is check out www.Newcelica.org. It's an American site but the information is still very much accurate. I'm quite sure the power output on the SX and ZR is both 141kw, as they both have the noice 2zz-GE. The states on the other hand get a lower model GT (It has the standard 1zz Corolla engine). Only their high end model, the GT-S, has a 2z. The differences between the SX and ZR are as Freakster listed, minus the engine spec. You will fine some SX with ZR options fitted as they were available at request when purchasing. If you're still definitely interested in the ZZt231 (the 7th gen) then personally I would spend a bit more and get a nice zr with low k's. For the last few months there's been a few nice ones listed on carsales but unfortunately I've not been in the position to grab one. Hope you find the site to be of use, we need more performance Celicas!
  7. Hey I got home to find my pakage sitting on the futon. Can't wait to put them in! They look even better in person than the photos credit them. Three cheers for M_M on a great GB
  8. The 200~ sounds pretty right. I ordered a spoiler for my 2005 Accent from my local toyota dealer last week and the total came to around 700. 200~ for the spoiler itself, 215 for the light array that goes inside the spoiler (! So expensive for an LED panel ) and 260 or so for painting and fitting. If thats what they quoted you for a genuine part then I'd go for it. It'd make your new rolla just that little bit more individualised too (I mean how many other people will have sent to Europe for it?)
  9. I guess it's about time I put my efforts in here to. In a month I'll be a qualified Chef - as soon as I do qualify I'll be Banquet Chef for the 3rd largest Convention centre in NQld! I'm also into the third year of a Bachelor of Education (Middle Schooling - new degree, Grades 4-10) at James Cook University - On hold while I get my trade papers and set myself up for final year of uni.
  10. I'm up for a set in QLD. So it's a full set right 2x front and 2x back? Red ones please
  11. No I haven't called yet. Sort of jumped the gun when i saw my bank balance. Looking at my situation before I go ahead with a big spend. Also giving the GF a chance to get some spare funds together to help. If she wants the 1zz done up a bit when I get the ZZt, I figure she can help doing it.
  12. Hey all, thanks for the feedback. I do have to say there is a major difference between being lazy and working 6 days a week being unable to send my car down south. To the best of my knowledge, to make one up custom they would need the car right there in Brisbane. Can't do that. I'm a bit confused by the replies say yes no yes no. Am I to assume they do have a completed 1zz catback exhaust made, and simply make to order, or did they abandon them completely. Some of the replies in here contradict one another. If I'm not able to get a pre-designed exhaust system sent up to me, it means I'm $1000 closer to a ZZe321 (I've set my mind on a 2002+ celica but the GF wants me to continue modding the 1zz for her )
  13. OK guys I've spent the evening going through the TOPICS PREVIOUSLY COVERED section looking at everything posted in there, but there is no mention of the one thing I am curious about... Does the CES catback exhaust fit on the 1zz? I got a MASSIVE tax return (I didn't claim threshold when i started working, 6k thanks much back ) and I'm thinking it's my next logical step. Getting it sent up here shouldn't be a problem (hehe I'm 16 hours away from the shop). Just checking with the club before I go annoying the boys at the shop. P.S. please please don't flame me
  14. 1) Hey man, for the code just do a SEARCH. it comes up in heaps of threads, the Group buy for them should give you what you need too i think. 2) Ummmmm yeah you got an issue right there. *** knows what that pipe is. On mine and most other members, that cavity had a plastic reservoir in it. Sort of like a second window washer tank. Before you go buying anything I'd be heading into your local dealer and finding someone in the parts depo that can tell you what we're looking at. (Tayles man I share your expression )
  15. Toyota is yanking your chain man. I had a situation where some little f*&^s came past in the night and smashed my colour coded cover. Split it clean in half. Got the Toyota Genuine part to replace it, for about $60. The price they are quoting you sounds about right, but I watched him bring the assembly up on the comp, and each piece is individuay coded, so you should be able to order only the ones you need. And thank *** I got a service rep that knew the car.... The one I originally talked to didn't even know a Corolla 'Sportivo" existed!
  16. I have a 2005 1zz-FE (Face-lift even) with the TRD CAI fitted. I got it from Xplo's second group buy. takes a bit of work, and you ignore one of the mounts, but it does fit. Been on 2thousand K now and no issues.
  17. Just adding a quick 2c.. I'm pretty certain that the Autobahn has, in fact, always had speed limits on it. Each lane is actually designated as a seperate road, similar to transit lanes in the larger cities down south. Your vehicle has to be capable of safely sustaining the limit in each lane in order to utilise it. Please correct me if I'm wrong. (Pretty sure the 'fast lane' is topped at 300)
  18. I know this is taking the thread a bit off-topic, but just how different is the chassis of the corolla to the celica? I mean i know ones a standard get around car with a "beefed up" edition, but what exactly did they do to the 7th gen celica? I've been seriously looking at going for a celica and doing it up over my 1zz, in the belief that the body will handle modding a bit better. I love my 1zz to bits, last thing i want is to have her in bits..
  19. Go for it guys! you SO won't regret it. excellent mod and the noise it makes accelerating .... just omg. And yes, Michael is a true champ for even contemplating doing the GB a thrid time. On ya man!
  20. Pioneer 9850-BT head unit FTW. Bluetooth handsfree and streaming as standard! Bought one 3 weeks ago and looooooove it.
  21. MMM shiny TRD red. best $360 bucks I've spent this year. It's worth it just for the weird looks I get from dunnydoor drivers thinking "What the hell is a corolla doing making noise like that?"
  22. Hmm FNQ. And I thought I was the only TOCAU member up this far. Welcome and sorry to here about the first car
  23. Umm guys, mine won't fit. I can't even get the headlight bracket in as the adjustor for the parks etc is in the way. are we certain it fits the facelift 1zz
  24. I do believe we now all have them! I just got home from TAFE (Final block! Fully qualified as a chef here I come!) and it was sitting on the futon. I was so f-ing happy I started trying to call mates before I even got in the door! BIG BIG thumbs up to Xplo for organising such a hot damn GB and thanks to Natz for the extra work with sending it on to Townsville! You guys rock!
  25. Hey all, Just exhausted my savings account for a few months and got me a Pioneer DEH-9850BT head unit. Just curious if anyone else in here has done the changeover. I've heard of adapters that literally just clip straight from the toyota standard into the H.U. Can anyone clarify if these are real/ available anywhere?
