  1. I think the Stivo itself has those "Sportivo accessory" Fitted already....you can go to this cataloge to have a look.....

    http://corolla.toyota.com.au/TWP/Upload/Media/303.pdf

in the cataloge, the "Tick" means avaiable for that model....

as from the table....those accessories that dun have a "tick" for the Stivo are actually the accessories that the Stivo ALREADY have them fitted in standard.

For example, the 6 disk CD player....under the Sportivo...there was no tick.....but a symbol '--', another example is, the rear parking sensor, the Sportivo this time have a tick as the parking sensor was not standard option for Sportivo.

Sorry, they're definetely different springs, if you compare the ride height of my car as well and the suspension stiffness to that of the Sportivo and you'll see the difference. If they were the same, my car would look like a monster truck

Oh sorryIZZ-FE, I didn't realize you have got the Sportivo springs installed on your car already.. !~~ Sorry, man....I shouldn't have argued with you coz you yourself have already installed :P There is no doubt you know the product more than me...

I was just 50/50...I was not too sure neither...and I just said it to see if someone correct me....hahah :D

  2. No, those are the optional "Sportivo" springs from the "Sportivo" accessory range as fitted to my car.  I'm referring to the springs fitted to the standard Corolla Sportivo

  3. To my knowledge - Sportivo uses identical springs to the rest of the range, however, it uses stiffer dampers and bushes.

Um....but in my opinion, the sportivo springs are different to the rest of the range... :o

Quoted from Toyota Geneiue Asseccesories page:

    "Sportivo Sports Spring Kit

Developed by Toyota, these Sports Springs deliver an even firmer and sportier level of handling for sports motivated drivers. They also lower the vehicle for a racier appearance."

  4. Yeah, the CHASER was the Japan only ones.....you can easily see them around in Japan and Hong Kong.

But they have already stopped production becoz of the environmental protection issues.....the large capacity engine cars are withdraw from production.

(Just like the GTR R34) due to poor fuel economy.

However, CHASER is still very popular of it's RWD design. They are still a good choice for those "DRIFTING" guys. People just enjoy the fun of driving the high power FWD. :D

  5. forget the conquest  <_<

    buy Sportivo.

I would never buy a second hand turbo petrol vehicle in this country, the chances of it having had its guts thrashed out is too high.

The current model sportivo does not come with a turbo :P

  6. ****!!, how is this possible?

damn, seems cheap too....i'm very interested in buy it off him now.

but i think many people will already be interested and will be willing to pay more than 24k.

IMO, it's just a 04 stivo with the bumper, headlight and grille of the facelifted version installed. All the spec are same as the current stivo.

There is no offical news from Toyota Australia that the NEW sportivo is out ~~?! There is nothing about the NEW stivo in www.toyota.com.au

  7. hey guys... i went to melbourne city toyota and lemans toyota toay... with the email from jenny stewart and the guyat melbourne toyota said its not the clutch adjustment.. he believes it the modified cable for it...  is this correct? coz i booked it in to get change since its under warrantee...

both places said its not the clutch adjustment and they wont adjust it for me!  :(

Do you have a different feeling with your clutch after you got back your car??? Since most of us have got a slightly heavier clutch, and the friction pt was a bit lower then before.

I doubt these changes were due to the change of the cable ~:unsure::ph34r: I think the change of cable was for the vibration and rattle behind the cenral console at high rev.

IMO, I think they did something to the clutch.......

Correct me if something is wrong B)

    What you guys reckon?? B)

  8. Thanks, but I already read that thread and it doesn't actually answer my question.  As of the last post (Aug 2004?), the cable "fix" wasn't an official recall issue.

I haven't heard anything contrary in the last 6 months, so are dealers doing this for everyone?  I just want to pre-empt my dealer saying "I've never heard anything about this"...

Btw, I copied this somewhere in this forum, this was a email reply from Toyota Australia.

Print it out in case you get a "cheaty" dealer

    Here is the email:

Thank you for your recent email outlining the ongoing issues with your Corolla Sportivo.

For anyone who has the gear shift problem here's a reply from Jenny Stewart. You might wanna adjust the clutch pedal. Not sure if this will work but I will give it a try.

Toyota Australia has investigated reports of gear shift feel/baulking during high rpm gear change on Corolla Sportivo. Our investigations have not identified any design or assembly faults with the clutch or related components.

However, the clutch pedal adjustment was found to be outside specification in some cases and has contributed to the reported gear shift condition. Please arrange inspection of the clutch pedal adjustment by your Warren Toyota as soon as convenient.

We thank you for bringing your personal concerns to our attention and giving us the opportunity to respond.

    Yours sincerely,

    TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION AUSTRALIA LIMITED

    Jenny Stewart

    CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTRE MANAGER

Ask the guy if he had heard about "Jenny Stewart" :P :D :P ~~

Man, then you should ask him "Have you heard about the Toyota Technical News Flash 30/11/04?"....this is the officical "internal" technical documents for the Toyota service ppl. Ask that stupid guy to read this if he got no idea about what you are talking about..... if he doesn't know the "the Toyota Technical News Flash 30/11/04".....jsut talk to service manager. If even the manager dunno about it....man then just leave straight away.....

I dun think a dealer who even have no idea of the Toyota service document are good enough to fix your car and solve the problems ~~ :D :D

Correct me if I'm wrong :P

  10. Hey,

If your car's just street driven and your looking to lower the car, reduce body roll and sharpen the cornering, I'd recommend doing springs, stabiliser/sway bar and strut brace, but save yourself some money and leave the shockers until the standard units are actually worn and need replacing.

    Just my 20c

    Yeah, IZZ-FE, totally agree~!!

Actually, I was having the same mod plan as Gus, your advice are very helpful......

Um....but I got a question.....isn't the stivo comes with a stock rear stabiliser/sway bar?? Does it means it's not really helpful on body roll????

    :P

  11. illegal or not illegal if you are not goin gto help him don't nearly 90% or aestheitc parts that are imported and installed on cars are not ADR approved

BUT HE IS ASKING HOW TO FIT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is the only question i was able to see

lukeprentice i will drop into bunnings today and check if they have ssome of those elbows

and if you realised why say it?........this is why this forum is not very helpful, people feel pushed away

Not many of us have installed that since it's ILLEGAL....so we couldn't really help on the installation of it....what we can help was to remind him it's ILLEGAL ....

I dun agree this forum is not helpful  , many fellow members are willing and able to help......like the gear shifting problem, tyre and rim....they all have lots of suggestion and ideas.... :D

I think as a fellow member of ours, we should remind him instead of "helping" Lukeprentice to break the law ..........

    (Personal Point of View)

  12. I've got the same setup but using Whiteline Control Springs ($320) (lowered 35mm), Strutbrace ($179), Rear swaybar ($190) and front camber bolt ($80).  Total cost approx. $770 not incl. labour.

How much was the labour then ??

Some of our fellow club members have got the Koni sports suspension?? What is that??

    1. Is that the one from Whiteline?? Is it from the Whiteline suspension kit??

    2. By the way, any idea what's the Whiteline suspension kit about??

    :rolleyes::lol:

  13. hmm, Blackrolla, have you reconsidered keeping the stivo??

    LOL

Yep. I have already pulled out on the Accord Euro. Financial problems. Let's just say someone didn't pay a Vodafone bill.

Things are also looking good with the Stivo. Hope everything gets fixed at this other Toyota service centre. I was soooo close to trading it in. Now that the clutch issue has been fixed I'm beginning to have a bit of fun with her again. :D

Welcome back, man  .......it's a good sign that people are falling in love with their stivo again ~~ :P

I haven't done mine yet due to working schedule. Looking forward to see what will be the difference ~~

  14. Flybuys rock, but anyway...

Need to get some petrol today so if BP aren't in rip-off mode then I might give the ultimate a go....

I will provide a full report upon completion of this tank....and knowing the way my wife gets me to run around, that'll be this afternoon

The points u get in Flybuys expired before you save enough to get something from it.......they expired very soon....I was shocked last time when I went to www.flybuys.com.au :(

  15. Why do I use Optimax as opposed to other flavours - 2 reasons, Flybuys and 4c Discount Voucher...

Yeah, so do I.. But I dun care about the Flybuys, they are a piece of shxt.

My car has only done around 6500kms at this stage so if by the 10K service it is brought to my attention that their may be an issue with the fuel being dirty, then I will give the BP Ultimate a go...

I used standard unleaded in my last car, 2000 Corolla Levin, and occasional I would put the Optimax in perhaps 1 out of 5 tanks, and I actually noticed a difference with the performace and milage.

But I think it's comes down to preference and the make/model of the car.  Perhaps the Mazda just doesn't like Shell.....

I did my 10k last month, they didn't asked me to do any injector cleaning. I used Optimax since day 1 with some Mobil 8000 in some occasions. Both of them are cool, haven't tried the BP Utimate yet.

  16. Trev - The only time i have enguaged ABS in the rolla has been at skidpan or motorkhana events....and all time the ABS was ROUGH AS GUTS.

Needless to say the car remained staight as a die and stopped...but it was too aggressive for my likeing it was very loud and harsh on the rotors

I agree with the others...i prefer hard braking without the ABS for better control

I tried once before. I was in a one lane road. The car in front was 4-5 car length in front of me. He was turning left into street. So, I didn't brake and keep my speed, but what the xxxx, that guy suddenly stopped fully. ~!!! And have half of the lane blocked by the tail of his car.......!!! He was giving way to the pedestrians who were already given way to him ~!!:huh:

I steped as HARD as I can on the brake......I remember I was about 60-70. I was about 10 cm from his car after I fully stopped. I felt the brake pedal was shaking and have some sound, was that the ABS????

I remember my car stoped with 3 car length and no sliding.

    Woh.....so lucky

  17. hey mate F**k off and leave the girl alone she obviously isnt interested in u so get a life and *****

    Relax....

rolla82 thinks he is making fun of it, but in fact he is making shxt of it. Guys, shall we just ignore him and treat his meaningless post as invisible. Then what shxt can he still say.

LNE15, I think you dun even need to "reply" those rubbish post, it just waste your time. He is that kind of guy that just making fun from people which they think they do.

If we just treat him as invisible, I dun see how long will this topic will last B)

  18. Well i dont know how to go about this, but so far ive killed 4 birds in the past few months, they all seem ignore my car like they cant see it, then "thump"."ohh man not again!!!" Im lucky ive had no damage so far, especially hitting a huge black crow at over 100kp/h....not to mention numerous other close calls.....birds just seem to play "chicken". Any black sportivo owners out there had similar experiences, i mean its just odd to me that all.....maybe i should change my number plade to EVL666

Can you drive your car to Sydney Fish Market to kill those sea birds ?? They too annoyed to ask for food all the time :D

  19. Just received the stickers from steve :D

Thanks you once again Steve ;)

here is what they look like

I have 5 spare in QLD. As one is already allocated to Lite (john)

They are $5.00 if anyone would like one

Can I ask if the sticker is transparent??

Or is it just a normal one??

By the way, where you guys reckon is the best place to stick it~!?? :D

  20. Guys

all you need is a cop to read this and they might book you

Anyways 220 on the way home from Sydney :D

You'd be fine if you had said "220 on the way home from Sydney via the Stuart Highway in the Nothern territory where there are no speed limits"

In know that's what you meant.

    Cheers

    gc

Maybe this is a stupid question, doesn't the police need evidence to charge people??

We just say something in the forum, is this still an offence???

What if I say I went 300km/hr last night which is impossible for a Stivo, , can the police still can charge me??? <_<
