  1. Does any one know if these voltage stabilisers are any good? do they really improve the performance of the car?

I'm thinking of getting one, don't know if it's worth it.

    Any comments/opinions are appreciated!!!    :D  :D  :D

I've got one installed on my car... :)

I found my car more responsive than before after installing it.

There are alot of "messy and unstable" electric current in the car...the voltage stablizer stable those current, thus that make the ignition timing more accurate and powerful. As a result, it makes the car more responsive as well as improving fuel economy. :D

Also, it also improve the brightless of your headlights as well as the efficiency of the other electric devices.

KT_haha, how much is the one that you are looking at?? :o

  2. My sister purchased a 1985 DX Tarago at Christmas time and now her front wiper bottle is empty. We have searched high and low and cannot locate the bottle to refill it. Logic with vans is that it is in either of 4 places .... front side panel on passenger side, front side panel on driver's side, under front dash or there is an access point on the front floor of the vehicle under the carpet ..... all searches in these and many more areas have been fruitless and we cannot locate this bottle. We have found the rear easily enough but would appreciate some assistance in locating the elusive front bottle.  Unfortunately the vehicle no longer has its books or we would look it up in there. Any assistance rendered would be gratefully received.  :)

Doesn't your car's user manual contains any guide on this???:blink::ph34r:

  3. you NSW people are almost as weird as NZ people!

first you got this two-colour P plate system where you shove the plate between your licence plates, and now this green slip business?

    oh my!

    lol!!  :D  :P   ;)  B)

    *runs away*

The CTP, Compulsory Third Party, I think this kind of insurance is compulsory for anywhere in the world for the registration of a car ~!!

Have a read at this :)

  4. Bad news Zee... Took the Service manager for a spin when I picked the car up as he could not diagnose an issue (but admitted that he didn't try at above 7000RPM) had a nice long chat about issues with the clutch adjustment and said all they can do is move the height as it is all hydrolic, but it has been noted that I have an issue with the clutch (the more notice given the better chance to Toyota fixing it) and until Toyota put out a formal statement and recall on this issue he is not prepared to look at it as it does not interfere with my 'normal' driving. He also mentioned that 2 other Stivos serviced there reported similar issues (I assumed one was yours...)

so... I'll be giving Sydney City a call next week to see what I can line up. A bit of a trip but one I feel is worth it to fix this issue... If you want to book to get both cars looked at together we could do that, will discuss on Sunday... If Blackrolla is there on Sun before the cruise I'll have a chat to see what he did also.

    Cheers

    Dylan

    Hey Blue_Stivo,

I think u really should give the Sydney City Toyota, Waterloo a go. Both me and KT_haha had got our car done there. We are now both very happy with it.

Last time, I just give them a call and tell them the problem, then they booked me in for a check up. On the day of the check up, I just took my car in and explain the problem to the Service Advisor, then he just took the car in and fix it for me.

(I think they are familiar with the clutch problem and gear selector cable problem all kinds of those problems, so once you tell them, they just know what to do :) )

I took my car early in the morning around 7:30, then they gave me a call at around 2:00pm said the car is ready.

Here is the service advisor's name for your reference, Ali Baalbaki. :)

Wish you and Zeerolla good luck on this.... :)

  5. Congratulations to your new babe, another snowflake!

Yeah I agree, sportivo badges, look better on pre-facelift model, so too the tear-drop lights, pre-facelift much nicer.

Noticed as well that the rear mudflaps are still black, not colour coded as per Ultima.

Front Bumper and Grill now one piece, would have been nice if spoiler was also intergrated.  Can't change Grill to TRD item.  Like pre-facelift model.

Fake vents on front spoiler now moved from side to under the lights... nice.

Side indicator lights now clear... nice.

......now for that Compressor model to arrive.

    Conclusion: -

    Pre-facelift: Model after European look.

Post-facelift: Model after more Japanese look.

I couldn't agree with you more, cept for the pre and post. I know it's just my opinion but the pre facelift is a much sportier looking Jap style whereas the facelift looks euro. Also much prefer the vents on the sides rather than under fogs.

What's with the lip thing on the rear bottom half?

Still a nice looking car but if it if it's not broke......

In fact, the post facelift look is the JAP version of Sportivo itself. So, I agree with

    sport1vo more :P

    Pre-facelift: Model after European look.

Post-facelift: Model after more Japanese look.

    Have a look at this

    http://toyota.jp/Showroom/All_toyota_lineup/Runx/index.html

    http://toyota.jp/sp/corolla/newcorolla/runx/index.html

It's the origianal look of Sportivo. The pre-facelift use the more euro look, while for post facelift they use back the original JAP RUNX look.

  6. Hey... anyone know which company is cheap to get CTP greenslip? ive been quoted like $567... soo expensive cos insurance is coming around at same time... grrr

Great timing, man ~~! :) I just got mine yesterday ~

I go for Allianz that cost $565. All the companies are charging the same price ~

    go to here

    http://www.maa.nsw.gov.au/

    to have a look.

There is a cool tool that make quotes for you listing all the prices of different companies.

However, they treat our Sportivo as "HIGH RISK" vehicle ~!!:angry::angry:

  7.

    Hi

Could someone PLEASE tell me how I can adjust the angle of my headlights? They point to low and everytime I have to drive at night they send me crazy!

I have pulled out the indicator lights and had a look around in there but can't see anything obvious. The car manual says to consult the tarago dealer but, really, this should just be an easy thing to do - shouldn't it?? I don't want to pay someone to do it for me when i am a perfectly capable woman who knows my way around a car with a phillips head screwdriver and some common sense.

    Please post your answers asap!

Sorry, I'm not sure about the Tarago but I got something to say.

I think the headlight aiming from factory is the best.......if you adjust it too high....it will blind the other drivers :( which would be danger.

If you really want to adjust it, pls make sure the light beam won't go above the should of the front car's seat.

  8. :D Hey Tell me what you pplz would think about a 1975 corolla wagon. she's got a sweet little kit on the front end, pimp'n fluffy seat covers, she's fridge white and carries a sub in da boot. she's old but i certainly think she's a classic.

    Any pics??? :)

  9. :( Guys, when you replaceing the LEDs (or anything) to your parking light, BE CAREFUL ~~ :o

You have to be 200% sure that the bulb is TIGHT and sit well onto the holder  .

I was trying to install the aftermarket LEDs to match my new HID, however, there was not enough room to work with (the right headlight), so I acceidentially left my bulb inside which I didn't make sure it's tight.

In order to get my bulb back, I need to take out the front grille, the front bumper together with the front spoiler, the right headlight unit. That took me heaps of time ~~!!! After getting my bulb back, I used some tape to tape it up. The hardest bit was to put the bumper back ~~!!! You need to make sure every screw and clip is at the right spot. I needed to ask a freind of mine to HELP

I'd thought of other way to get it back, but it was REALLY the ONLY solution for me~~

Guys, just never and ever left your bulb inside the headlight unit, that's PAINFUL~~ Just take my experience `

I really need to say thank you to "Oz_Viking", if without the sevice manual that he posted the other day, I would have no idea how to take the bumper out ....thanks very much man....

  10. hey guys

what kit do i need for my 2004 corolla, H4 H3 etc

    Thanx in advance

As Kcorro said, H7 for low beam.

Most people have got the KDG and the Techone. I think they are the most popular ones in this forum. As you are from Sydney too, so it should be easy for you to get one.

I just got mine installed myself....the hardeset bit is to get your hands to work in the limited room to fit the globe and wires.

My one is with Philips ballast. :P

  11. Just got my installed yesterday, Philips 7000k, cost me around AUD$400.  :D

    So, nice~~

    Cooley,

    Tell me more !

    Where from ?

Is this for High or Low ?

    More info pleeeeez ?

    Cheers

    T.

It's the low beam. I bought from overseas far from HK, cost around AUD 400. The ballast was Philips "Made in Germany" (haha, I like this brand for lights, always reliable, just like Toyota for Cars :D ). I think the bulbs were not Philips bulb, but still look niceeeeeeee~~ :D

With the purchase of that, I paid around AUD 25 to buy a "Votlage stablizer" which original cost was AUD 200. Those two products were in a special package ~ :D :P . The HID was originally cost around AUD 650. They were making a clearance sale before Chinese New Year, so the prices were just like in factory outlet.

Btw, the performance of the votlage stablizer just make me smile ~ :)

Go to my garage to have a look if you are interested.

Trying to put some pics with how my HID looks ASAP(maybe tmr), need to find a place "DARK" enough to show the HID's brightness.

  12. Welcome Stephy,

Are you going to mod this seriously?? :P ........

Personally, I think a number plate just a "number" for the cops.........I really won't bother...to do anything with it.... and I think RTA was just earn a profit from the personalise number plate.....before they won't charge you annual fee for a personalised plate....just a one time pay off. If I were you, I won't let them get my money B)

I rather save those money to buy some asscessories....

    Just my 2 cents

  13. bump

    anyone else got HID recently?

Looks like I'll be getting 8000k H7's cos I'm helping a mate out by buying his, cos he bought the wrong one. I'm going to try my luck to get 6000k's though

6000k because from wht I have seen, it's closer to the colour of daylight, hence will appear brighter.

but if I end up with the 8000k, ah wellz! :)

I've got 7000k....but I haven't got it installed yet  ......no time yet :P

  14. Hey guys i have a 2004 Corolla acsent sport (not sportivo)

Is there anyway that i can get the most out of my car?

what you recommend to boost my power? exhaust system??

Air filter? what can i do ??

Just my personal view, if you wanna boost the power, yeah.....the first step would be the air filter and exhaust. But it really depends on your badget :) , well, if your have some cash, then I'll say "Do the air filter + the exhaust together~~!!"

"Breath in and Breath out" they have to work together ~~! :D

This let you get the most out of your car and your parts. :D

  15. hey guys. has anyone tried aftermarket spark plug led (Corolla zze122 or zze 123)? is that good? because i found the website that mention after you change the spark plug led, the hp can increase 5-10%. is that correct? any brands suggest? if so, please leave model, parts numbers and the place can buy.

    http://www.nology.com/hot.html

    cheers

    Dennis

If you really wanna upgrade the spark plug lead, try to look into the NGK Power Cable.

Also, there is a device from HKS "HKS Twin Power". However, I have no idea what's that call in English. I read it from an foreign mag. The device is just a little box, what it does is to increase the length of the time that the spark plug ignite.

I read about this on a mag, a guy who has a Toyota Aristo(Jap Spec) have mod the car seriously has the HKS Twin Power under the hood.

If you are interest, maybe you can search on the internet for "HKS Twin Power"

    Hope that helps......

  16. IDLE

O.K ... Once a week (at least) I have a situation where the car sudenly starts to idle strangely (car is stationary).  Idle suddenly starts to fluctuate between 100 - 1000 rpm, up and down.  Sometimes it does it with the AC on othertimes when the AC is off.  The fuel gauge is over 3/4 of a tank full.

Anyone had this and had it explained by the boys at Toyota?  I have been noticing that the car seems to be more and more sluggish.  Oil/Water levels are nominal -- the car has done 15000k's. Frustratingly the boys at South Side Toyota Tested the ECU and all was normal.  I obviously indicated that performance issues can be caused by more than just the ECU but they said there appeard to be nothing obvious.

My car had the same situation with you before when the car is startionary and sometimes there some strange sound underhood, but when I step on the clutch the sound goes. I had asked my friend and he may just be the A/C. Other than that, there was no problem with normal driving. So, I think that is normal and not actually a PROBLEM ~

    Anyone??

  17. Found this whilst surfing:

Offical Toyota 2004 Corolla Service Manual

Note: It's a 29Mb zip file but has PDF's for every part of the car.  It's very comprehensive, but doesn't appear to cover the Sportivo, only 1ZZ-FE models.  I'm now trying to see if there's a Sportivo manual out there...

    CHEERS...........OZ_VIKING

You are the man ~

I was planning to find a way to adjust my headlight coz HID is coming, but I've no idea. The manual told me everything to adjust it like the professional do ~~ :D

Thanks again.....I will keep the manual as long as the time I keep the car~~
