  1. Ok so grabbed a bottle of the new Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Glass Cleaner on sale finally at a decent price $20 instead of the usual $31-$32 a bottle. So far i am very impressed with it, the sprayer is fantastic as it gives a very fine even spray covering a big area in one pass. The wipe off is brilliant no streaks at all and can be used for all glass including your info screens etc. Thought I would pass this on in case any other wish to try it out, also grabbed 2 bottles of the Bars Bugs Windscreen additive at Repco for $3 a 600 Ml bottle so I would check out all the sales currently on at your favourite store as lots of great bargis about but would definitely recommend the TW Glass Cleaner it is probably the best I have tried in quite a while.

  2. Another brilliant video from The Car Guru, in this one he is discussing an issue that can occur with a coolant leak at the head gasket, this is on a 2007 Camry almost 200,000 miles and basically it is immaculate, as always his insight is fantastic and his love of this engine is genuine.

    Enjoy All

  3. Hi Chris, Have tried many combinations of buttons on our "Faye" too no avail mate, so I have no idea if you can reset the display for fuel consumption. I know on refilling it goes up greatly as air has entered the tank and comes down fast when driving any distance, so I don't bother much I just keep an eye on it and when it gets up around 11L/100klm as most of our outings is local 50kph zones, I take Faye out and try to go for a 80/90 kph run and it comes back down to around the usual 8 L/100 - 9 L/100klm. Good luck on the weathershields and maybe post some pics of them fitted.

  4. Hi mate, just click over 134,000 K as we dont do a lot of long hauls being retired, still go out for cruises around the Central Coast areas and date nights. Still have the original Xenon Headlights and fog lights they are doing well did replace the Globes a few years back but never had an issue apart from that with them. Only thing that has failed is the tensioner so replaced that with OEM part and new serpentine belt. And apart from good maintenance costs nothing else has really gone wrong with my "Faye"> Did get sick of the head-unit a few years after buying her so got a very nice Clarion one as seen in some pic's I posted. I have looked into the Stedi globe upgrades for the fog lights and they do look very good I think Campbeam has those in his baby.

  5. Hi Mate, I have never looked into polishing the inside projectors I imagine it is a fully seal package. But maybe small hands with cotton wool fixed to a stick and some IPA or a cleaning solution and a good shake and dry off may improve the inside. I am sure if any have got into that they will comment further. Well she got a bargain for sure mate well done, glad it was a simple fix as these 2GRF-E engines will last a very very long time when they are well maintained and you can have peace of mind knowing your beloved is safe and in a reliable car.

  7. Hi Brian, never seen a bad earth on Aurions but as with anything yes it is possible. I would suggest you check out the actual wiring & try following it back and check that, but before you just jump into LED's review the law in the state as some states do not allow them plus the better quality LEDs cost a bit and buying cheap LEDs can lead to having to replace them sooner. I would be more inclined to go with the standard halogen globes as most now offer brighter lighting as well. I am sure others will help if they have more knowledge than me. I have only replaced both Xenon globes in mine and found the passengers side a real pain with limited space so allow time to do the job right the first time mate. Glad your looking after your girl let us know what you find and end up doing.

  8. Ty Tony, I also know the love and attention you also give to your pride and joy my friend. I enjoy the time and attention I can give to"Faye" as it is now limited to the occasional wash and coatings, but mostly detailing as age and injuries have really limited what I can do these days. I just enjoy how she has held up to the years, she still runs like a swiss watch and according to my wonderful mechanic who did our service and roadworthy a few weeks ago she is perfect in all areas. As all proud Aurion owners know we built wonderful cars here and how sad I still am we no longer do that in Australia.

I send love and hugs to you and your loved ones my friend

  9. Well I can understand the envy, I also look at others rides and am envious. I just try hard to keep her beautiful and maintained well, in return she is wonderful to drive and has remained 98% standard which is what I love. Small things do need attention like alloy scrapes and intend one day to remove another badge off the back but that is about it, our Faye is a beauty that has not faded with time 14 years and still a stunner mostly.

    Thanks mate

  10. TY Chris, Yes our "Faye" is still in wonderful condition, I pride myself by keeping her perfect and she repays me every time with a wonderful driving experience. I always feel if you spend time and put in love it really shows, plus I love my beloved wife to get into a clean comfy luxurious environment when we go out on a date.

  11. Hi Chris, yes a touchy and personal subject that is, everyone has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to the black stuff that keeps us alive. I went with 2 types over the years that have proven to last and are quiet and feel safe. 1st was the Dunlop SP Sport felt good lasted good and quality was good, then last time went with the Michelin Primacy 4 cost a bit more but they have worn very well, excellent in the wet and smooth and quiet. I do have a spare set of alloys with Firestones on them and like to swap out every few months as it allows me to detail the set I have removed. But as I said so many have different likes and dislikes so my suggestion is buy quality spend what you can afford mate. I look for bargains like by 3 get 1 free offers and there are a lot of those about right now. Let us know what you end up with

  12. Welcome to the forum Chris, yes mate I can assure you that you have a beauty. having loved and cared for my 2009 Aurion Presara called "Faye" from birth she is still a total delight to get behind the wheel of as she is still pristine and nothing beats a cruise with my wonderful wife. Enjoy the forum and ask any questions someone will always help if they can.

  13. Hi Alex, Firstly congrats on the Camry. Mate there are literally quite a few head units available that will do a great job. So my advise is check out good quality Car audio stores such as Monster Audio etc in your area and find what your after, as usual it comes down to what you want the unit to do what you can afford to pay and also the cable connection for any steering wheel function controls. Personally when I replaced my 2009 Toyota Aurion Presara's head unit I went with a quality Unit and Monster Audio did the fitting as they had the expertise, the surround for the unit to fit perfectly and the cables required so all my wheel buttons functioned. let us know what you end up with.

  14. Hi Michael, Well unfortunately it takes all sorts to make this world, the smart ones and the idiots. In the last 2 years plus the idiots have come out into the open which has made it much easier to spot them. So well done on keeping your pride and joy running like a swiss watch. I am also one who loves his Toyota and as it is now coming up 14 years old with only 133,000 Klms on it I keep it immaculate and it too runs like a smooth swiss watch.
