  1. Ohh too sexxy.. well done!! How much did that set you back? Is it from a DC5R?
  2. Heh.. doesn't look half bad now..
  3. Well done! Yeah like Andy suggested, the rear could do with a factory style spoiler. :) Maybe even put the factory tail lights back on, or black altezzas.
  4. Looking awesome! Is that with the black mesh? It looks silver, or is it from the flash of your camera?
  5. Fog light push switch, SOLD! Items in first post updated. New item added! :)
  6. Spotted Ic3Man this afternoon turning off George St (North Strathfield) onto Parramatta road, and later into Strathfield. :P
  7. I'll take the Fog light switch if you're able to post it to Melb. Thanks. PM'd!
  8. I believe there are a small amount of 1ZZ were built in SA. And the SA market has the RunX too. What we call Sportivo's here, is called a RunX in SA.
  9. The factory 16" rim for the Yaris (overseas models) are 16x7.0JJ, and the tire size is 195/50R16. Tires in this size are quite expensive, as it's not as common.. As for what brand of rims, it really depends on how much you want to spend, whether brand is a factor, and what styles you're after. I suggest taking a trip to a local wheel shop in Melbourne, take a look at what they have and see if you like any of them. Or you can probably browse their websites. I'm not from Melbourne, so I can't really help on where to find rims. Maybe someone from down there can give you a hand. :)
  10. Don't know about the preface, but for the facelift model, the S.African built headlights have a slightly different inside compared to the Japanese built headlights.. mainly it's the bulb cover for the low beam. Check it out, you'll see what I mean. Also, S.African built Corolla's have a different front windscreen. Their one has a blue tint across the top of the windscreen. The Japanese built ones have a clear windscreen through out. :)
  11. Hey and welcome to the forum! I see that you drive a Yaris YR, so that means that your factory steelies are 14" x 5" wide. Your factory tire size is 175/65R14. 16" seems like a good size for a Yaris. Try to avoid huge rims (like 18") because it'll make your car feel really sluggish.. Cheers, Kenneth
  12. From the Toyota parts diagrams it appears that there's a piece that goes between the shroud and the actual lamp.. It appears to be part of the fog shrouds: 52030-06030 (RH) 32040-06030 (LH)
  13. The factory mounting is exactly the same... just one screw (this is mine): Even the Yaris uses one screw (photo courtesy of KEN33F): As for the angle being incorrect, my fog lights are straight and level, and so are the ones I fitted for Ingres. Stability wise with respect to one screw; my Aurion has been given some pretty rough driving and my fog lights are yet to go out of alignment. The 06-08 Yaris uses 1 mounting screw and 1 slot to hold the lamps in place. The 09 Yaris uses 2 mounting screws across the top and 1 slot to hold the lamp in place. But if Toyota has designed it to work with 1 mounting screw from factory, then I'm sure it'd be fine. Btw, was there someone here in the Aurion forum looking for a push switch for their fog kit..? I remember seeing it.. can't remember who.. PM me.

  15. Thanks fellas! I had to split it between two days as I started late afternoon and it got dark real quickly. But if one was to do it from start-finish in the same day, it'd probably take.. approximately 2-3hours or 4 hours at max if you wanted to go slow and be extra careful. =) Yeah the LCD box has come in handy for a few DIYs. Oh and I remember 1rocky asking how much the total cost is for the setup in another thread, the total comes to about $400 and that includes: - fog light kit - custom harness - relay - OEM stalk - '09 OEM shrouds - shipping *It'll be about $75 cheaper if it was for an 06-08 Yaris, where you could use the shrouds included with the kit. Cheers, Kenneth :)
  16. .. continuing on again 18. Using a pair of pliers bind the two ends of the clamp together to loosen it, while doing so get someone to help you pull the light stalk out. It's held on by a 2 notches, so gently tug until it comes out. light stalk removed 19. Pop on your new light stalk with the fog switch. Then slide your wiper stalk in till it latches on, you'll hear/feel a click. wiper stalk back in with new light stalk 20. Replace the centre spiral, it will click into place. Replace the top and lower plastic covers and screw them back in place. Reset the spiral by turning the spiral counter-clockwise all the way till it no longer turns. Then turn it ~2.5turns clockwise till the centre marks align (two triangles at the bottom). spiral replaced, covers reseated and spiral reset 21. Replace the steering wheel making sure that the line on the masking tape match up, lock the steering wheel and tighten the mounting nut. Plug the white connector back into the centre spiral. Re-attach the horn and airbag connectors back onto the steering pad assembly. Finally, tighten up the 2 torx screws on either side of the steering wheel. should end up looking like what you started with.. with the difference being your new stalk 22. Reconnect the battery and switch the car on. If the airbag light turns off, then you have done it correctly. Test your new switch out along with your new fogs! Grab a beer and give yourself a pat on the back.. :P following this install will give you a factory-like install, the fog indicator on the dash will light up when the fog lights are being operated .. and you should end up with something sexy like this! I hope that this has/will help some of you out there who are hoping to do a factory like install with aftermarket foglight kits. Regards, Kenneth :)
  17. .. continuing on 9. Connect up the fog lamps and remount your bumper and you're done.. for the engine bay side. stand back and admire.. you're halfway there! Inside cabin side // --- 10. Pull down your passenger side glove box and you'll see a in-cabin fuse box. There's a space for relay. Plug the Narva micro relay into this slot. space for the micro relay 11. By this time your steering should be straight, so stick a piece of masking tape across and draw a line (you will use this later on to align the wheel). Using your T30 torx bit, loosen the two torx bolts on either side of the steering wheel. They will not fall out, so just loosen them. They hold the steering pad assembly in place. masking tape with line through it, used for aligning the steering wheel later on torx bit to undo the torx screws 12. Once loosened, the steering pad assembly will come off. Gently support it with one hand and unplug the horn (black cable). 18. Hey everyone, Thought I'd make a good contribution back to this forum after all the help I've gotten from here. This is my first DIY, but I hope you find it useful.. Disclaimer: I'm not an electrician or an authorized Toyota installer. This is what worked for me. I am in no way responsible for you breaking, burning or otherwise destroying your car. If corrections need to be made to this guide, I will do so in my spare time. Feel free to PM me with suggestions/corrections/questions. Now that's out of the way, on to the good stuff. Background info: The Yaris comes pre-wired ready for fogs from the factory. So it makes it a lot simpler to install a foglight kit, pretty much plug and play. What you need: 1x foglight kit (comes with L&R fog lamps, 2x bulbs, 1x harness, 1x push switch, screws, and 2x 06-08 shrouds) 1x custom factory style harness (to make it all literally plug and play) 1x narva micro relay (p/n 68062BL) 1x OEM light stalk with Fog dial (p/n 84140-52110 (06-08) OR 84140-52090 (09)) 1x pair of OEM fog shrouds (09 Yaris only, p/n 81481-52330 (right) and 81482-52260 (left)) --- 1x socket wrench 1x 150mm extension 1x 19mm socket 1x 10mm socket 1x T30 torx bit or screwdriver 1x philips screwdriver 1x small flathead screw driver 1x steering wheel puller set (optional) 1x packet of larger zip ties Bit of masking tape & a marker Instructions: Engine bay side // --- 1. Park your car and make sure your steering is straight. Disconnect the negative on your battery before doing anything. Leave it for atleast 90 seconds before proceeding to step 2. The reason is the airbag has a backup power source which activates for 1minute 30seconds after your main power is gone. negative disconnected 2. Remove your front bumper. There are 5x plastic push-pins along the top, 2x plastic push-pins at the end of the bumper at the wheel guard (1 on each side), and 8 screws along the bottom (use your socket wrench with a 10mm socket here to make your life easier). bumper removed 3. Pop out the original plastic covers. Pop in the fog light shrouds. original cover removed 4. Test fit your fog lamps. Screw them in (09 models are held on by 2 screws and 1 slot per lamp, and 06-08 are held on by 1 screw and 2 slots per lamp). ahh.. the beauty of OEM fit.. 5. Route your wiring harness alongside the factory wiring which runs along your re-enforcement bar. clean.. use as many zip ties as you think you need 6. Route the custom harness through the front end of the fuse box. the custom harness is the part from the white plug onwards. as you can see it hooks right up with the harness provided by the foglight kit 7. Plug the two pins from the harness into the two free sockets on the connector (the two on the top right of the connector). plugged in to the connector 8. Ground the harness to a bolt on the chassis near the passenger side headlamp. grounded .. continued in next post, hit the limit for number of images per post.
  19. Wow spotted! Woohoo Had just finished an exam.. was going home to study for the next one (tomorrow).. anyways.. Give us a honk next time, promise I won't give you weird looks. HAHA :P
  20. Lol Evan, put your performance bits on hold :P
  21. I too say go for the black mesh.. silver stands out too much. Good work on the front bar! Get it on asap! :)
  22. Thanks Yuri! The stalk was not too hard to install. I did change the foglight bulb, it's running a modified H9 (65W) bulb instead of the intended H11 (55W). It doesn't appear bright in the photo because I turned down the exposure so it didn't glare like crazy through the camera lens. :)
  23. They're the 4300K Kaixen bi-xenon HID's. It's not that blue in real life.. but the camera couldn't capture it's real colour. It's a very natural white colour in real life. Thanks Jeremy! :P
  24. Quick update: Got my bits and pieces in.. 4300K bi-xenons + foggies + OEM stalk + factory like install = HELL YEAH! The fog indicator lights up on operation of foggies like it's supposed to: I'm glad the process went smooth.. with no hiccups! Will post up a DIY for both installs in a couple of days when I'm done with my exams.. Till then, enjoy! :P
