  1. Hi there Azem. Could you post up a few photos so we have a better idea of what you're dealing with. I have a few bumper problems with my TRD as well. Welcome to the forum mate.
  2. I agree mate, the road noise through them is pretty loud but I'm really happy with them. They grip really well. Other things I've had to replace are the front wheel bearings, drive shafts and 4 new engine mounts. Once again, as I've spoken about in a previous thread, there's a long list of components TRD Australia at the time should've strengthened before supercharging these engines. Chewed up driveshafts and cracked engine mounts are happening in around half the time compared to the standard engines wear and tear.
  3. After that disaster I just give the engine bay a once over with a micro-fibre cloth each time I wash the car. The mods on miss320 so far are: Bought the car with an upgraded 3 inch Y-Pipe and a high flow cat. Engine breathes much better and has added a really nice low down growl to the note. K&N Short Ram Intake. Pretty much just adds induction noise but sounds effing awesome with loud supercharger whine. 6000k HID's on low beam. I put back on a set of Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT tyres. It's the brand TRD Aurion came with from the factory and they are brilliant rubber. Ultra Racing front strut brace. Eyelids!!!!!!! Can't forget the controversial eyelids. Definately more mods to come.
  4. Something I did when I first got miss320 was wash the engine bay, the red supercharger sitting proudly on top makes the engine look sensational. It always impresses people when I lift the bonnet, especially those who think it's a Sportivo with a different bodykit and TRD badges. The previous owner took really good care of the interior and exterior of her but didn't give a crap about the engine bay, so I decided to give it a wash. Being the overexcited idiot I was at the time I decided to dilute some degreaser and soaked the entire engine in it and let it sit for about 20 mins. When it was time to wash it off it came up looking awesome and I was very happy. Until I started the engine. Sqqqqqqqquuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeel!!!! She sounded like a sick animal screaming. Turns out the degreaser was super caustic and I hadn't diluted it enough, it had dried out my serpentine belt and had eaten away all the grease from the inside of my pulleys and external engine bearings. My engine bay wash turned out to be a $640 job to replace all the parts I destroyed. I will NEVER do that again...
  5. Hey there Ghelo. Noticed you changed your profile picture, congratulations mate on your pending arrival! Hope all is well. Cheers.
  6. A couple of points... Good: Massive power is very entertaining, if a little scary in the wet. Not so good: Oversights with build quality in some areas, such as paint finish and dash rattles.
  7. Good evening Aurion family. I had a dig around in the forum history and to the best of what I could see, I noticed there wasn't any threads based purely on TRD Aurion. So I thought I'd start one... I know there's a few of us out there who have one despite the fact Toyota didn't make many of these things. So please... share your photos, experiences, modifications, problems, irritations and love for your unique machine right here. Hurry before another one blows up! Kidding.
  8. Duly noted Trent. 🙄 Back on topic, the part price really isn't an issue, it just seems like a fairly nasty job to replace that line on an Aurion. The Kluger may be easier due to having more workable room at the side of the engine. A mechanic would charge you a fortune for that job.
  9. Does anyone know a ball-park cost of getting an IS350 wheel and paddles attached to an Aurion? I'm thinking this may be my next mod..?? Goodnight.
  10. Eyelids are still holding strong and miss320 is still looking AWESOME!! Eyelids rule.
  11. Very true Mr Billet, I am deeply considering doing a preemptive oil line change on my TRD and my wife's Kluger to prevent this mess from happening.
  12. Hang on Mr LordBug, electric motors in the rear wheels??!? More details please!!
  13. Ok, for the past couple of days I've been giving miss320 a few decent squirts to and from work, safely of course. I hardly ever (I'd say almost never) drive my girl hard, I'm definitely not a tear@r$e. To be completely honest, when the engine is under a full load of acceleration, foot to the floor, it's sounds incredibly peaky and high pitched. I have a K&N SRI and a larger free flowing y-pipe so it definitely adds to the drama of the sound as a whole. My point is, the engine actually SOUNDS like it's being stretched to its capabilities on a factory tune when it's given the beans. Don't get me wrong, I'm still really keen to see the outcomes of someone getting their TRD tuned of course, but I wonder how that engine would cope with even more boost and strain. The scream from it under full boost would be scary. Thoughts fellas???
  14. I can relate Trent... My old R32 Skyline was a seriously quick machine, and you are only limited power wise in those things by how much money and courage you have. I have to look for my dyno printout but my old R32 was putting ballpark 390kw at the wheels, and yes the punch in the head the acceleration gives you is incredible. But it didn't feel that special after a while. The lag was ridiculous, the tyres had about half the life span and the fuel map the tune needed was so rich that the whole car stunk of thick petrol, no class! A hard car to live with every day. But people's tastes change.
  15. After taking a ride in my mates TRD, the exhaust note of mine sounds noticeably different. I'm also running a K&N SRI so when you accelerate gradually you get a deeper, richer note which blends into the whine coming from the supercharger. I'll try and post a couple of videos tomorrow to give you an example Mr GDude.
  16. Please, I beg you, take one for a drive and experience the ferociousness of that engine under full load. The car feels like it's trying to eat you alive. It's hysterical. Yeah you can pull massive power relatively cheaply out of a falcon turbo six and put a lot more of it's power to the ground but I find those cars are totally devoid of any sort of character, or x-factor. Not too mention how common and poorly built Falcons are. What TRD managed to create with virtually no money and a reasonably conservative donor car Is brilliant, I love the fact that TRD Aurion has a bit of a cult following now. When you get that supercharged bug inside of you, you just want more!!!
  17. Mr mg85, let me ask you a personal question... Do you own a TRD Aurion? Or have ever driven one for that matter?
  18. God that photo makes me cringe, did that exploded mess used to be a Stock 2GR-FE or a supercharged version?
  19. Ok good to hear. What were Toyota thinking when they built that factory pipe!
  20. Obviously due to the limited development costs TRD Australia had at the time, they didn't strengthen any of the internals of the stock 2GR-FE when they fitted the supercharger. So are you suggesting that even a good safe tune would bring limited power gains unless you are willing to get in there and do a rebuild.
  21. Does anyone out there know anything more about this pipe? It's clearly bigger than the factory version but I'm interested if it would improve anything performance wise...
  22. Any chance you could post a video of you starting your Presara so we can hear it? May give us a better idea.
  23. To hell with fuel Economy!!!! Please keep us updated on this mate, I'm really keen to pull some more power out of my girl too. The possibilities that open up if Agritune can properly tune the ECU on a TRD Aurion are very exciting. Cant wait!
  24. Hey mate, I just had a peek at their website and it all sounds pretty good. If their tuning the actual ECU and not using a piggy back system it'd be a first for a TRD Aurion. The majority of TRD Aurion's, depending on the dyno used, put between 180 to 200kw to the wheels with out any intake or exhaust modifications. I'd love to see what kind of power this mob could pull out of a Supercharged 2GR-FE with a good tune. Go for it! If the tune works well and you could get, say a reliable 220-230kw to the ground, Agritune would have a conga line of Aurion owners lining up to get their cars done! Me included. I'm really interested to hear what other people think.
