  1. Get it changed. The current ADR prohibits under-reading. http://www.trafficlaw.com.au/speedos.html
  2. Well my mate has absolute trust in that workshop so the Martini stuff has went into my Yaris. So far i feel no difference in performance but i'll be on the look out for any sign of trouble.
  3. Has anyone heard or used Martini engine oil ? My usual workshop recommend this brand but I think it's just too unheard of ? Regards.
  4. I think you might need the sweeky dash fix. Mine used to have a thud sound from that region when going over humps, until i got Toyota to fix it.
  5. Hi Guys, I'm researching on how to install this camera. The hugh drill is enough to scare me off. I read someone has posted before on drilling directly through the trim plastic and metal in one go. I know removing the trim is "challenging" so trying to avoid this. Is drilling through directly actually doable without causing massive damage ? Thanks.
  6. Why don't you test drive both before deciding ? I own a auto YRS and had test driven auto YR as well. IMO auto YRS has sufficient power for short commutes. With the traffic condition these days, i won't even consider a manual, not worth the hassle.
  7. I'm actually looking around to get a electric rear blind installed in Mel. Any ideas where to look without costing too much ?
  8. Unfortunately i'm down in VIC. Probably i'll look for a Bridgestone tyre centre. That's why i'm reluctant to do a alignment now because 30k will be in 2 mths time. Likely it'll mess up again after the tyres are rotated.
  9. Thanks for all the comments. It screech on tar road surface, both turning left or right. But haven't notice it in roundabout. My 30k service is coming up. Do you think i should get the alignment check during or after the service ? Regards.
  10. Hi, I have a 07 Aurion Prodigy with around 25k running the default Dunlop tyres. Recently i notice screeching sound from the tyres when i do a 90 degree left or right turn at reasonable slow speed. I can't reproduce this effect consistently though. I had checked the tyre threads, pressure and didn't find anything unusual. Any suggestions on what else needs to be checked ? Regards.
  11. Yeah some of the pumps are replaced by E10. Hope it doesn't happen at my local station.
  12. I had previously posted into this forum my method of getting the consumption down to average 9.4L/100 -Fuel type. Shell unleaded 95, NOT Caltex 95, NOT Mobil 95, NOT other crap 95. -Control your acceleration. At the traffic lights, accelerate at around 2000-2300rpm. You will lose to the punk P-plater driving a Hyundai Getz next to you but this thread is about fuel saving isn't it. BTW i don't work for Shell.
  13. Ok an update on this. The dealer changed the whole plastic centre piece and put it back into alignment. Also created some new scratches in the process. And the worst part is now there's some rattling sound coming from under.
  14. I'll have to leave it until next servicing. I'm not handy with cars. High chance of breaking something if i touch it.
  15. Enough for a name card to slip in. Funny though, the gear level still shifts smoothly. So it can't be the plastic piece shifted forward out of alignment. Maybe something to do with the whole mechanism.
  16. Has anyone else noticed this ? I didn't see it until 20k later.
  17. My Aurion has just touched the 20k mark. Average consumption over last 12 mths is 9.3L/100 This is based on 80% freeway travel and smooth acceleration of around 2k rpm at traffic lights. Petrol used is Shell 95. Apparently the brand of petrol also matters. I can never get such good result on Caltex 95.
  18. Hi guys, My Aurion is scheduled to go in for 15k in 2 months time. Any recommendation of engine oil to go for ? Someone mentioned to me Mobil 1. Is it good ? And which grade suitable for Melbourne weather ? How many litres will i have to provide ? Regards.
  19. I noticed that some water got in (i presume through the window gap), but not as bad as your case. A day after the rain stopped i can still see some water droplets on the door sill.
  20. I have exactly the same ticking sound on my prodigy. It's 2 mths old so should be around the same build date as yours.
  21. AT-X is selling well isn't it ? Most of the Aurions that i see on the street are AT-X.
  22. It means on the replacement dash, the odo reading is already 1000+, not close to zero as you would expect new parts. So pretty obvious the dash has been taken off from somewhere else. At that point of time i was not fussy about it as long as it has a lower reading than the original dash. Anyway the replacement (recycled) dash is working fine and the workmanship is good so i figured better don't risk another job which could result in more issues.
