    My '95 Camry

Bet they don't have the OEM Fujitsu Ten cassette deck from a '98 CSi. You can't find them anywhere!

    Brake Pads

I rang Toyota the other day and asked about brake pad fitment. At the moment you can get a pair of new front pads supply and fit for $99! This is at CMI Toyota Adelaide. Besides bragging about a good deal, I have a question, does new pads improve brake performance at all? Even a bit?

    My '95 Camry

Yeah I think just being a proud car owner is what makes you stand out. So many people these days treat their cars like s**t! But I go too far the other way, my car has basically nothing in it, and friends always comment on how unbelievably clean it is, it almost makes me feel like there's something wrong with me! And any bit of money I get goes on my car! The reason I don't wear my P's is because they cheapen the look of the car and other road users treat you like scum! It's like wearing a sign on your back that says "KICK ME!"

Nice! I'm a P plater too, and though my '98 Camry isn't the best car in the world I still get envy from other people hehe. Though truth be told I'm not wearing my P's -_- I like that model Camry, it's a good shape and design.

    It's so true!!!

Heh, this is turning into a completely different topic now. But border line, Adelaide is a great city, but they seem to put no money at all into road maintenance. And in the end it contributes to making this place look like a s**t hole! P.S. I could really go for some fritz right now...
  6. Toyota should have one (not sure how much). But if the repairs weren't carried out properly, they are the one's that should fix it!
  7. I guess you don't care about smooth and quiet ride ether Just try driving THAT on Adelaide's roads! It will bring you to tears.
  8. Yeah it's their fault really, they need to have stock headunits that have everything already there, so people don't need to upgrade! Congrats on owning a new rolla though!!!
  9. Got me thinking, my car doesn't have airbags!!!
  10. [\quote]Trade ins are one area where a lot of car buyers lose heaps of money for a few reasons. The main one is that they don't haggle on the trade in price. The first offer given for a trade in is always less than what the dealer actually values it at. Yeah a good example of this would be when I traded-in my 2000 Astra CD for the 1998 CSi Camry. The Camry was selling for $11,990 and they valued the Astra at "around" $11,000. But they ended up giving it to me on a clean swap, because that's all I was interested in. Anyway, the point is that I drove past the dealership one day and saw that they had put a price tag of $15,980 on the Astra! Which is about the same as what we paid for it in the first place!!! So that goes to show how much dealers steal from people! The funny thing is that prior to all this, every dealer told me that the Astra wouldn't be worth anything close to $16k! But that won't stop them from selling it for that much will it!!! Car salesmen = lying scum
  11. Ahhh, that's the best way to mod if one must mod.
  12. *** I hate rude carsalesmen!!! I've only really met one nice guy at a dealer called Cornes Toyota here in SA. He was really nice and didn't try and push me into anything and actually seemed to care about what I wanted. Anyway I too plan to buy something like a Yaris (or whatever it will be in the near future). So the Yaris sedan is more than the hatch? If I were you I'd have a look on carsales.com.au for some of the best prices. And don't trade-in the car you've already got! The dealer will give you f**k all for it. I'd sell it privately, then you'd get twice as much than a dealer would give you. THEN, use that money to put on the Yaris and get the rest on finance or whatever. Sorry to sound like an f**k if that's what you already planed to do, but that's exactly what I plan to do.
  13. Sorry but stock looks better and won't depreciate the Corolla's otherwise excellent resale value.
  14. I think I'll need to get my suspension replaced soon too. I hear slight creeking when driving over mild bumps. My Camry has done about 115,987km, does the suspension need replacing? How much does it all cost?

    It's so true!!!

I guess it's just this one dude's opinion, as well as mine. I still think the roads here are in shocking disrepair, and the man hole covers right on the wheel line, what the hell is that??? Don't get me wrong, apart from the roads I still love Adelaide.
  16. The following is a 'blog' I found on the net. I don't want to bag on the city I live in but, I must say this guy has taken the words straight from my mouth with this one. I couldn't agree more!!! "I have just moved to Perth 8 months ago after living in Adelaide for 22 years and I must say the road system in Adelaide is absolutely appalling. Man hole covers right on the wheel tracks.... absolutely genius idea that one was! Rather congested 2 lane arterial roads with lots of traffic lights, and the southern expressway. Well don't even get me started on that. I had relatives come over and I took them down the "expressway" and they laughed at it, it's a joke! Now I know Perth has a totally different set up but it is an absolute pleasure to drive over here having beautiful freeways and dead smooth roads everywhere. I own a sports car and it was coming to the point of giving my car suspension damage in Adelaide not to mention the constant jarring of my body. Adelaide is too far gone to fix many of the roads there. South road is always going to be a piece of s**t and same with most of the arterial roads into the city. The roads are too heavily used with no detour roads to handle the traffic in major roadwork's. And then the other option of public transport in Adelaide. With the state of the buses and trains I don't blame people for driving to work, its disgusting sometimes. For those who have been on Perth's public transportation system know how clean and efficient it is. Rated as one of the best in the world. Adelaide's problem roads are going to take years of slow work to bring them up to standards of the other states." Unfortunately SA's so called 'roads' have already taken their toll on my Camry >:(
  17. Yeah I love the 350Z's, but I'd probably still have the Prius, and let's face it, the Prius would probably outlive the Nissan. With the Prius you're also paying for the whole "car of the future" image too. With a dash that looks like a TARDIS control panel.
  18. Truth be told that if I had the money, I'd buy one. But they're not THAT expensive are they? I've seen brand new Prius' selling on carsales.com.au for about $39,990. Okay so about 40k, but that's only a bit more than a Camry and less than an Aurion. And yes, a Prius is not a hoon's car.
  19. Hey! It's about time someone else from SA joined! I'm in Adelaide and I have a 98 4cyl CSi Camry. There doesn't seem to be many people from SA in these forums, people are mostly from ether Melbourne or Sydney. My grandparents have only owned Toyota's and they have a 99 V6 Camry Conquest. Anyway my car is... Modifications (not made by me): Avalon mags Work that needs doing: major service and tune> new wipers> front and rear bumpers re-painted> new stereo> a few dints buffed out> eventually new shockers/suspension, plus a few other minor things. Odo: 115,987km
  20. There is a reason why they have smaller rims, larger tires and higher suspension as stock. It's so much smoother, but if you change it, there will be hardly any give in the suspension at all. The interior will also start to rattle badly, and the Camry will soon become unpleasant to drive. That's my take on it...
  21. That's good, only 56,500km. Don't mod it. It will be worth more later as stock!!!
  22. Zeus

    My 98 CSI

Thanks! The odo is currently at 115,987km, got it at 113.870. Not too bad...
  23. I'll give you the hot tip, only buy Toyota! Or Subaru...
  24. What the hell is your new car? If it's a Kia Daewoo or Hyundai then I'm not surprised. Note that they are cars to avoid!
  25. And so is the Avalon the Aurion's predecessor? It would seem that way cause the Avalon was like a feature-packed V6.
