  1. thanks guys. shouldve know to search instead of wasting forum space! my camry is 02' so im sure its just a non screwy things that hold the strips. the strips look identical to the ones on tayles & JJCRU23R's corollas. as for painting them.mm yea i'll need to weigh which one is more troublesome. getting rid of it or painting it. both seem to be as tedious
  2. sure thang neon. will get back 2 u asap. old man working in malaysia now (for toyota incidently) so i will email now! sorri for the long a$$ waits lol. being a mod in another forum kinda drains me at times. cheers!
  3. tits tits tits opps hehehe i mean *tints tints tints* are coming. i just need money money money! worth more later in stock hey lol! i will never mod my car besides putting 17s, changing all lights to white, and perhaps getting rid of them BLACK STRIPS on the doors!!!!! i know they are useful but why didnt MY advantage come with WHITE strips like my friends!!!! look so much better! arhg!
  4. LOLOLOL i dont love it or hate it but i think its the funniest thing in the world!!hahahaah can i buy your rims then u get your new ride heheeh. my 02 csi advantage is white as well.
  5. ic ok now. so u have a non toyota brand new car and an 03 camry sportivo as said in the other camry thread? im sure new cars are fine. just need to buy the right new cars.
  6. gday neon, sorry for the late over due post i have the pics! sorri, i think its the starter motor that it is connected to, can anyone here verify that for me? i have attached all in chronological order where the switch leads to. plz only mod @ your own risk if u are pursing that path. i am no mechanic! my old man is the one haha. cheers hope its of much help.
  7. pics of the showroom shine plz! hehe my wonder meguiars collection is similar to yours, but minus the nxt gen car wash & mirror glaze, but plus megs paint cleaner, another 3 pairs of meg's hand applicators and 12 of them great kenco micro trade packs! i find that using 2 hand apps for polish, wax and 1 hand appl for scratchx is best, the last app should be for paint cleaner. that way u minimize the scratches created by the accumulation of product. @ the end of any application wash the applicators in warm to hot water immediately to save some $$$ on buying new ones. do not cross use the hand apps on something else (ie wax handapp used again for polish) 1 question though, when do u use the mirror glaze? in which step? The order i do it in is: 1. Wash & dry(duh) If car surface is majority retarded then: 2. Paint Cleaner/prewax cleaner 3. Scratch x (only if needed) 3. Clay 4. Polish (once a year) 5. Wax wheres that mirror glaze fit? i find that annoying that bobjane cant even wheel balance them properly. i think of them as the 2nd choice 2 a dealer, but now i guess i need to approach with caution. i hate steering wheel vibrations.
  8. serious? im sure u would. just dont buy another new toyota again haha hope u and the devil have better luck next time...mmm....usually the experienced mechanices are in other places, so u should try your luck in different dealers?
  9. true dat, no point saying what u "think" is right. thats just plain stupid.
  10. hi all, ive got a camry, its white, and its got them black door strips on the side. anyone know how to remove them diy style? i know my mechanic can do it but he will charge heavy cuz its time consuming.
  11. Hi all, i dont have nice woooped up rides like most of you's, but these are the 2 camry's ive been driving since way back My previous car, used it for 3years, very boring, kinda still going but its got an oil leak and a power steering leak. Too costly to repair. Millage? 350,000kms Detailing product? Mothers 3Step System + Mothers Clay System Sound? Sony Xplodes What else? No AirCon...it was mighty hot in that car, seriously. Current car, driving for 2mths, very very boring, all stock, so boring Millage? 56,500kms Detailing product? Meguiar's Paint cleaner, Scratch X, Deep Crystal Polish & Nxt Gen Wax Upcoming? 17''wheels, an mp3/wma/cd-rw player, white rear tail and front head lights
  12. haha thanks djcamry. yea it still has the re92 rubber. there are some stone chips, and the interior is not shiny. so i guess i have nothing to worry about. HOWEVER, just out of curiosity, how perfect does all think about the perfect-ness of paint jobs coming out of the toyota factories? i was giving my camry a meguiars pamper (meaning polishing and waxing lol) and i looked @ one door. the finish on the paint is not like the 3 other doors. when u wax a door, its shinny, and u can see reflections when the sun shines. with this one door, the finish is some what shiny, but u can see that the paint did not dry properly. im not contesting again that i got a dodgy door/car but im just asking is it possible for paint jobs @ toyota factories to be somewhat 2nd grade? can people make mistakes in these factories? cuz it SURE looks like the door was oversprayed in white. im a showroom shine enthusiast. name any meguiars product and chances are it'd be in my garage. anyone here with me? hehe. my friend though, as the exact sxv20r advantage, he's done 19,000km. im sure he's the lowest 02 camry owner in vic/aust. i'll be sure to post it up if he sells. wilco.
  13. thats hot. i continued to look @ the vids on youtube.... dont know if this has been posted here or not, but 100ks on 2nd gear? its an aurion being recorded doing 200km/h. i want that white camry!
  14. ok will post pics soon. i doubt its the battery. my battery is a cheapy, and prior to that i used an old battery from a corona that my old man recharged, re filled it with acid/water. so i mean, try it out, but i doubt its the battery. dont waste money on batteries just yet. with mine, it always cranks the 1st time, but on the 2nd crank it would NEVER start the car. u would have to wait 10mins b4 cranking and having a successful start.
  15. dimsim8 your lil danasoft ip/windows checkup signature got me tripping!!! lol
  16. yea the service books and stickers do add up, havent checked the brake paddle but yea, i think i have a genuine 55,000 car. but it a question that has always got me wondering. is there an international standard on odo change-age? i think there should be an ISO setup, or some of anti tampering seal. yea they used to reset the odo prior to actual customer delivery, so i heard, but they stopped doing it recently. i mean, the car has to be driven on the ship, off the ship, in and out of the country factory/car yard, on to and off trucks, then to the dealers. its impossible to get "0km" on a new car.
  17. fantastic to know that my paranioa meter just went upto 15 outta 10 lol! hate buying used cars.....
  18. well yea a tad worried. i know i shouldnt be but never say never? haha more like extremely paranoid my 5year old sxv20r has 55,000 when purchased. it was from a country toyota dealer too
  19. hi there, im just wondering, how hard is it to tamper with an odo? esp electronic ones. the real reason i guess im asking is because just kinda purchased my camry, and i have trust in the seller/dealers i believe it has not been tampered with, but just wanna reassure myself? my camry is an 02 csi advantage (last ones b4 the new shape) which has an electronic odo, like most of us do. thanks in advance. cheers!
  20. hi all, new to this forum! i dont know why i didnt find this place b4 hand?!!?! ive been reading alot of posts through out this forum a while now. thought id start on something meaningful! i used to drive, and still have, an sv21 EFI before i got my sxv20r advantage just 1mth ago. u'll need to excuse me as i will try to do my best to explain. i have the exact same problem as you, or as most sv21 owners re the cold starts, and my problem was/is as bad as yours. the solution? well, my dad being a mechanic found out after 10years, that it wasnt any type of engine or thingamadoda related, it was the wiring from the ignition switch inside, to the starter motor, to the engine. everytime u try to start, it just wont start. so to solve it, he placed a normal push down switch next 2 the steering wheel. whenever u try start the engine cold first time, it would always fail, so u turned the key "on" position, press the push down button and the car would start. i might pop out 2molo and post some fotos of the wiring, the switch to make it alot easier. i know 3 other sv21 owners with this problem, and my old man as given them the "switch treatment". its a reoccurring problem on these cars. so if u have checked everywhere, its most likely the wiring @ fault. hope i helped, cheers!
