  1. I just bought a pair on eBay. Now I cant wait to get them.
  2. Looks like the Kluger has topped the SUV market for monthly sales: "In addition to the HiLux's purple patch, Toyota were also happy to note that the top four-selling SUVs in the land. Kluger (1268) outsold RAV4 (1191), followed by Prado (1157) and LandCruiser (1124). Subaru's Forester (1107) and the Ford Territory (1073) picked up fifth and sixth spots respectively. " Have a look here : http://www.carpoint.com.au/car-review/2929858.aspx Good to see, and hopefully the trend will continue..
  3. Guess what I brought tonight at Autobarn before going home You work fast Taka. Ive been thinking of those myself. If possible " its probably too late" can you take pics of "like" one original and one new bulb installed from the front and also a shot from inside looking out..... I know its a big ask but it would be interesting to do a comparison like that. You might find you have to lower your headlight angle to limit the glare to oncoming traffic. It will be very interesting to see what your opinion is of them......
  4. Some interesting reading here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/prod..._of_winter.html I think its still safer to stick to the conventional halogen bulb but to get the most efficient version....note: its important not to glare oncoming traffic. Whats the use of you being able to see while blinding the oncoming car possibly causing them to collide with you??. Another thing to consider is not going to high in power, over a period of time it could cause the reflective surface in the light to break down or suffer some other form of heat damage.
  5. Sounded good Taka until I read the FAQ, seems they are not street legal unless used for auxillary lighting, so we just cant replace our single H4 combo light. But I wonder if we can put them in the fog lights and how much more effective they would be......then again are you supposed to drive around with your foglights on??...when theres no fog??....and then again how bad would they be when there is fog.....?? hmmm.many questions.
  6. I think we all need to slow down a little. Flying off in reverse is not a good thing unless you are in a smash up derby. Ive only got a very short driveway and I always crawl out of it for fear of hitting someone or something.
  7. I find the grande one pretty fast, fast enough for me anyway. Once i put it in reverse it just overides any other screens and the camera goes straight on. The only annoying thing is if someone plays around with the stereo then the reverse camera goes off and wont come back on again unless i take it out of gear then put it back in reverse.
  8. Yes its annoying how they overstate everything. Whats the use of having a guage or reading that reports back the wrong information. Same goes for the speedo its not accurate at all, it always reads more than your true speed. I personally think this causes more problems because you try and compensate for the innacuracy by stretching the grossly conservative indications.
  9. We just did our 10k service 2 weeks ago. The only thing I got them to look at was to tighten the handbrake. They did but its still not as good as I expect. I dunno I maust be asking too much from it. We have to take ours in for some panel work soon though. Believe it or not my Mrs still managed to reverse into a pole. Dont ask me how, with a big reverse camera screen, parking sensors and those big mirrors .......
  10. The quality of workmanship from many dealers not just Toyota is disgusting. There is no pride in their work and I would be embarrased/ashamed if I ran some of those service departments. The service departments would be charging the work they do back to Toyota so its not as if its coming out of their pockets. What they have done is totally unacceptable and I would write a letter to Toyota head office regardless of whether they replace the damaged parts or not. It should never have happened in the first place. Sometimes the odd accidental damage unfortunately happens and they should tell the customer before they pick the car up, but with so much damage these guys have caused it sounds like they are butchers. I would not be taking my car back there again if thats an indication of how they care for their customers cars.
  11. With some idiots on the roads these days, ABS is essential, i wouldnt buy a car without it. With the vibrations, some cars(toyotas) are louder than others, and vibrate more. These is not because they cannot engineer this feature out, they deliberately do this tell the driver that these features are in operation, ie, you may need to back off and not push your car so fast in the wet for example. This will be my first car with stability control, it will be interested to see how this feature goes offroad! By the way, when i tested the brakes on the kluger on a dry piece of bitumen, the brakes from 90km to 0km, it was better than a vz SV6 we had. No abs intervention was required. I was VERY impressed considering its weight... Yeah it stops pretty good, its got pretty massive disks thats probably why they work so well.
  12. Hey mrbishi, I think so... (runs off to check website) Ah.. yes! "Blade Runner steps have a matt-anodised aluminium step with molded individual non slip step pads." :) Thanks...I thought they looked it from the pictures. It gives them a more refined look and seems to blend with the cars metallic paint.
  13. Looking good, Looking good..... Do the side steps have an anodised finish?
  14. You better be very careful using thinners on paint, you could end up ruining your paint if you dont know what youre doing.
  15. maybe the old mechanical sensors might be an option
  16. Hi just joined the the club too .Just ordered a black Grande with nudge bar , side rail ,beige leather.About a 3 month wait.Has any one got any pics of there black kluger? How does black go with our hot summer? congratulations and hope the wait isnt too long.
  17. Id call that 1 schooner too many.
  18. Figure this out though guys...... If the speedo is so conservative to try and stop us from speeding too much, then why the heck didnt toyota include a speed warning alert like in many other cars...eg. the camry has it. Thats one of the biggest ommisions they forgot to include.
  19. yes its because theyre all driving klugers and think theyre going fast
  20. yeah we always suspected this from day one but could never be bothered to check it. You cant even do a quick calculation because the odometer isnt fine enough it only shows km's and wont go down to hundreds/meters. Thats why when you do 110kmh on a freeway just about everyone overtakes you.
  21. make sure that when you try it taka, that your next to a little cutie car like a brina or yaris etc, just look the other way whistling and no one will think its you. Yeah its a Sydney thing. Melbourne drivers use hand gestures! No offence intended, I was born and raised in Melbourne, and lived in Sydney for over 15 years. I still get called a Mexican up here.
  22. Ah Ha......This is one of the very first things I notced when the kluger was launched and I'm embarassed.....for such a big car, the horn that comes with the kluger is (no disrespect to the fairer sex) a bit girlie. If you heard the horn go off you would be looking around for a small car like a Barina or a Corolla......not a big 4WD. Looks like someone in the US was thinking the same thing and has already done the deed.....have a look here... http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=238864 . So now I have decided to replace it/them. The most impressive horns Ive heard so far are on the Alfa-Romeo 156 ( I used to have one) , it sounds like a truck and certainly makes you jump and take notice. Im actually looking at using trumpet horns, not the beepers like found on most smaller cars..... Not interested in air-horns, most take too long to build up pressure and activate. Anyone already done this or thinking of it, that may have a cheaper alternative than expensive eoro-parts. Not sure if I like the sound of the camry horns, but like the horns on most euro cars.
  23. Nice write up there taka. Leaves them scratching their head about the roll over as well. Overall gives the Kluger a great thumbs up.
  24. 100% success here. Have you tried using the other key for a while and see if it makes a difference?
