  1. Update: Gave the Hawk pads their first mountain run last night and I am extremely happy with the improvement over the OEM pads. After a little bit of initial fade the performance of the pads stabilised and continued to perform very well even with repeated heavy down hill brake applications.

I had done this same mountain run with the OEM pads and had to back off completely as the pads just went away and didnt seem to recover at all after the first few heavy brake applications.

Note: I have been using Penrite 525 super dot 4 brake fluid since the first brake fluid change at 30k and was used during both mountain runs mentioned above.

  2. Well the offset is +46.5mm and the wheels are 19x8 standard with 245 tyres. Now 245mm is just over 9.5 inches so in theory you would be able to fit a wheel up to 9.5 inches wide and keep the offset around +45mm without rubbing.

I have had a look in the past before I sourced another set of gunmetal TRD wheels (I didnt like the silver wheels on a silver car) and there is some nice looking ones out there. An 8.5 inch wheel would be a better fit for the 245 tyres. The issue will be getting an offset that wont cause rubbing.

This link has been put up before but is good for comparing offsets www.1010tires.com

  3. The gear lever/shifter cables and pedals can come from the gen 6 Camry Sportivo as well as the lower part of the centre consul. Will also need the hand brake lever from the gen 6 Camry to replace the foot operated park brake in the Aurion.

so dave, time to source an E153 then?

Maybe a bit later when the warranty runs out! I have thought about it.

Also the E153 was fitted to the gen 4 & 5 V6 Camrys.

  4. The original TRD pads did squeal towards the end of their life and Ash (Secaboy) has also experienced it with his. I do get some squeal with the Hawk pads but like Daryl I didnt use any grease when installing the new pads. I have since done it to the rears and will also do the fronts when I have the front wheels off.

  5. I have changed pads to Hawk Ceramic Performance. A lot less dust and I feel that they also are a better pad all round then the TRD original pads which are PBR performance compound pads. Hopefully they give better rotor life as well.

  6. Where did you guys get them from because I'm having problems finding anyone that has them and then of the 2 places that have them will only sell me both front seats with everything @ $550 plus shipping

Just found a place that will do me $300pp for both seats. If i do just get the whole seat, do you know if they will just bolt straight in?

make sure they are from an ACV36 (4cyl) as the V6 seats have air bags fitted. They will NOT just bolt in. You need to disassemble the seat and fit the base and back rest to the gen 4 rails.

is the 04-06 seats the same support as the 03 ones i know mine doesnt have the sportivo on the seat written on the seat

The seats are the same shape, which is better then what is fitted to the gen 4.
