That car cries sex all over it :), looks sweet as once you lower it, especially with the wheels tucking inwards a bit :P.. Yeah I heard pedders worked on aurions as well. Well 245's Mkay said that it would scrape if lowered so if your not planning to lower your car then should be ok, im assuming you'll be on 8.5" deep rims? you can try 235's?

I wonder how the guy on the first image you posted on the 20's got his lowered? I think King Springs only have Low for the Aurion and are supposed to drop the car around 30mm. The front of the car looked fine with the lowered springs but the back looked like it had dropped a lot more. About 15mm of the rear tyre was under the guard. I might try some pedders springs otherwise I might look into getting some Adjustable Coilovers, but thats a bit expensive just for looks sake. I'll try and post some pics over the next couple of days, I would have perferred to wait until the car was lowered before posting pics but I'll take a few now anyway. Cool, cant wait for pics.... So was it the rears causing the problems?, would adjusting the camber help? I know that if you lower the car, naturally the top of the wheel starts to tuck inwards...

Yep agree, go direct to TMCA as the warranty sits under the 'factory' 3 year warranty, not any extended warranty brought on by the dealer, you might want to get teh papers from the service center and any outstanding quotes on what else needs to be done, should help you with any substantiation.

Thats fked up Blue, its a nightmare situation you have there, I think youd better off trying to sell the car privately i guess... , get some legal advice also, theres something in the trades practices act somewhere.... and back to the clunk, yeah tried sports shift and happened late in gear 1, so im going to assume its normal.

By reading the manual it says lasts a few seconds which what i felt was more like clunk more like something fell off or broke off barely a seconds worth and always happens from the shift from 1st to 2nd gear for the first time. Its pretty loud you dont really need to concentrate... Ok i'll test out sequential mode.

My wife's family mostly all own Toyota and swear by them, that is till now. It is with their disbelief the amount of problems and hand balling i have had with Toyota so by the sounds my car is certainly an isolated issue. Thats said i went for a drive up to Mt Barker today to visit some family and in some back streets there are a few relatively bumpy roads and the car has more rattles then a baby's cot. Mostly from the dash, up where the sun glasses holder is, drivers door and something tinny in the back (brace maybe)? I had a TW Magna previously (which arent all that great in the quality department) and the Aurion has 2 - 3 times more rattles than even that. They just come from everywhere! We have been up that same road in our CH lancer and i barely heard any rattles in that. I still beleive as it's been ripped apart (doors and entire dash) that this is the cause of most of it. I can still move the dashboard and the arch above the clock etc which all creak and crack. Is there anyone in Adelaide with an Aurion that lives on a bumpy road? Regrettably Toyota Australia and Jarvis Toyota collectively seem disinterested in making further contact with me regarding the replacement of this heap of crap so unfortunatley it's likely i'll trade it in December / January on something else of high quality (and it wont be a (Toy)ota). I don't want to sell it privatley unless the buyer is deaf or immune to an orchestra of creaks and rattles and / or its a warm-hot day. Umm if your taking that path, wait for new Falcon / Mazda 6? you could look at nissan maxima, or hondas e.g. Accord, their going pretty cheap atm. Oh speaking of which another problem i just discovered with my aurion is, when i first start the car and get onto 2nd for the first time, i get a rough clunk and ***** from the gearbox, it feels pretty bad i'll need to bring it to the attention on my next service, just wondering if anybody has a similar problem? and apart from that one of the seat rail protector (sits on the end of the rail on the backside) just popped off, i cannot plug it back on securely... :( Mine makes that clunk noise too. apparently it says in the user manual that its suppose to make a clunk noise wen u first start up the engine and drive. Its suppose to show that the traction contorol is working or somehting. Check out ur user manual. Umm tried finding it, cant seem to find it in the manual... page number? Doesnt sound too healthy that clunk though, I can imagine reselling the car and convincing the buyer that its normal :S....

and the fact that labour is aust cost heaps! so not that reliable, high labour rate.... then theres closure costs if factories move overseas. mmmm not much going for it there hehe maybe its the fact of the 'she'll be right mate' work ethic. Ive seen in a few factories here as part of a tour for my job, people tend to talk to one another, crack jokes, not giving 100% on the production segment their on. Whereas in Japan or some other countries, workers would get slammed hard for not concentrating. I know in Toyota Japan, they use Kaizens throughout the production chain, which is basically a principle to always improve effeciency/effectiveness throughout each individual process and processes are highly monitored. Toyota still has the best quality of all the local manufacturers. Just check out how much problems Falcon, Commodore and Magna/380 users have experienced. Other marques, like BMW, VW, Mercedes, etc are not immune from quality issues also. Surely in this day of age, the quality of the vehicle is not too dependent on where it is made, but the design and manufactur of its components. Remember, a lot of the components are imported. All we do here is merely assemble. Most of these components are design to fit in nicely. Agree that Toyota is still produces the better build quality than other manufacturers, but assembly is also important, given the number of people talking about leafy noises at full blast sounds more like an assembly problem rather than individual parts (e.g. they should have secured the vent better to stop it vibrate at high speeds), many of the assembly processes are still manually done e.g. some guy with a ratchet, and are prone to error, and probably accounts to why some aurions e.g. mine dont make that leafy sound when i tested mine out.

Hi, I used eclipse speakers (fujitsu ten). 7 x 10 would be a tight fit. You could probably fit them, however depth would be an issue. The 6x9 only have about 3-4 mm gab between the magnet and the window glass when it opens. Bringing the speakers forward with a bigger baffle would cause them to interfere with the door trim. 6x9's give excellent bass and clarity. Can't see why you would need more. What was the height of the eclipse speakers? i am thinking of putting all 6x9 pioneer yellows into the aurion, and bit concerned on the fitment, also I noticed that the yellow's tweeter pokes out from the woofer a bit....

I hope you are right. It was a pretty cold and humid day as well. The chances to have leaks in both doors would be pretty low you think. I tested out the power windows by pushing them right down and up again. The inner side of the windows were completely dry. So there wouldn't have that much water inside the doors if there are major leaks. I'm going to contact my speaker installer just to make sure. Perhaps even get them to check that the speakers were not completely drenched (which I doubt because they still work and sounded ok). Oh you got aftermarket speakers... then don't take it to Toyota.

tell me about it i thought the bishi brand was a gonner 6yrs ago with they had that cover up in japan re their trucks. it was all over everyone said. but they have bounced back and have done a FANTASTIC job with regaining their brand name and consumer confidence. wished ud purchase the new lancer? hehe y were u comparing a small car to a medium cars? esp the old lancer?! Yeah when i took it for a test drive when it was first released I was impressed especially the manual gear box, I gotta say its the best ive ever tested in cars the 2.0 engine is refined and smooth, feels heaps better than the 2.4 ltr they used on prev model. If I had the money I would have opted for the new lancer fully + more optioned, the interior was impressive comparable to other cars in its class, no more of that cheap tacky plastic they used in the previous models. I was comparing small cars to medium to large, due to my interests and not really looking at categories, i even contemplated small to medium 4wds, I dont mind small cars for parking zipping through the city and fuel consumption, but with big cars, i can comfortably take it cruising around distances and can fit more for the occasional picnic etc. So yeah I was weighing the pros and cons to each and going back to my needs and expectations with car use going ahead. And yeah im looking at the new lancer not the old one.

Hi Wixy, Totally agree - as mentioned elsewhere in this forum and even in this thread. My current Presara is not perfect but I've made my choice over other cars including Peugeot, VW, BMW and Merc. I am still owing a BMW but just to please my wife. Please don't tell me "Euro" cars are more "reliable". BH Ive been told by mechanics that beemers arent too great and tend to break down. Mercs on the other hand are. Just to note, Before I got my Zr6 I was looking at: Merc c200 compressor (Sedan) SHand BMW E46's 320i/ci, 330i/ci, 525i, 530i, SHand Holden VE, Mazda 6's SHand Passat Jetta TDI SHand New Lancer VRX All had their merits and downers, at the end is was between the vrx and zr6, i opted for the zr6 due to Employee discount and that vrx with features equalling to the zr6 (plus more e.g. Rockford fosgate ICE) would be ridiculous in price for a small car but i tell you what... Mitsubishi finally hit the mark this time with the lancer...

GTT but heavily modified pulling ~270rwkw normally. Would loved to keep it but monetary circumstances always get the best of me :). and plus vic cops are the worst lol.

But in the meantime im going for a closer inspection... You could risk and test it out yourself, get some water and sprinkle it down from the top of the door and judge where it is coming from by listening for the drips?

your so funny that you dont know that stock to stock aurion is more reliable than r34 at high speeds. if you got the balls bring your r34 to the freeway and see the result for yourself. Wow... Not talking about a straight line here, this is track with turns, if youve managed to maintain highspeeds around a track with other cars around u, you'd know the feeling. hitting 200 over and breaking hard into an apex is scary. But in regards to straights, Take it to a long stretch of drag strip and can reach 300km/h easy, and btw my car has been modified so yes the 180 limiter was removed. and yes I do own a zr6 and easily say it im more alert and conscious when taking this car around corners, and anyways the only drawback for me is that the car sits too high to my liking. its like siting in a echo thats big. everything else is sweet :). I can bag the Aurion on performance against but why....., its comparing oranges to apples, my old car was built for performance, the zr6 is comfort and economy with decent grunt.

lol good luck on both accounts for getting it removed and hitting over 240km/h (I expect you would do the sensible thing and taking it to a space shuttle landing strip?), should aim for 300km/h and then you can claim to feel the speed of an F1 driver..... Richard Hammond will be proud of you ;). it was scary enough hitting 220-230km on a performance vehicle (Skyline R34 with alot of handling mods) I cant imagine on a lumbering family car! (stock)

I've got this sometimes but actually the seat belt, not the seat - I just pull the seat belt lock up and ok. BH I thought i had this problem at one stage as well. It turned out to be the seat belt. The buckle is not sitting up top of the belt cleanly; instead its at an agle resting on the seat as well as the pillar which results in the rattle noise. Yeah got my Zr yesterday and noticed the same problem backing out of my dodgey steep driveway. Though I didnt get the Leafy fan problem as other suggested, But mannnnn, the car is so high lol, cant wait to lower it and put some nice rims :).

Just my opinion but man... thats old man styles on such a nice car :), get some protectant and spray over the dash, cover up the windscreens when your facing the sun, and dash mats cover the top part of the dash, which you wouldnt be touching so often anyways me thinks...

I would recommend you go aftermarket, cheaper and you got a range to choose from... Plus you can trade sell you existing 17's and that bring it cheaper again. It really all depends how much u are willing to spend, if money is not really an issue go for many of us here and get some nice 20's fits and looks really well with the aurion as its a big car and needs big looking rims :).

Sun roof? Dealer throw ins? e.g. Extended warranty?, years worth of car washes? vouchers?

Just to note, the list price of a zr6 is $38k if you can work closer to that mark, you must be doing well...
