  1. Yeah the sports suspension and bucket seats help. but as said for 20k extra its debatible...... I would have loved it if they scrapped the Supercharger and dropped in the advanced version of the engine which the IS350 has.
  2. differences Well... Leather seats Dual Electric powered seats Dual Zone Auto climate control system Park Assist Smart Start Smart Entry Chrome interior door handles Mica / Metallic Paint ...and fully sick Zr6 Badge RRP on these things added if they were options are well over 10K... So I say yes.
  3. oh man, they look sweet!! 35k could be for a dealer model, is there a speaker upgrade option for the aurion zr6??? There isnt any, you'll have to go aftermarket. Nice rims btw :)
  4. Bah 19's wont void your warranty, if the TRD Aurion comes stock 19's then its all ok, even going to 20's your fine :)
  5. This is something to do with the laws/rules here in Australia - Some other countries we can have a new car after few problems during warranty period. Hope the rules here change. BH Yep in the US theres the lemon rule, that i think within a few days you find a fault you can rightfully exchange for a new car. The fact in Blue's case is that, the car has been going back and forth to get fixed so its pretty much a lemon and Toyota has not acknowledged that and given him the courtesy of getting it fixed properly or a new car.
  6. I wouldnt expect to do a formal inspection to be made when buying a new car, common mentality is people expect a new car to have no problems and that if problems occur it should be fixed for FREE with the warranty. Yep my sisters CE lancer has been going strong, she drives it pretty hard due to a 1.5ltr engine and no problems whatsover, i reckon this would be one of their best engines... And agree with the ratings on that lemon guide, basically culture and traditions would play a major part on this. Toyota would be up there in reliability but from experience, Hondas (1st - Ive just seen so many hondas still going strong with over 200k on their odo) and subaru's (2nd) have been better
  7. You must be blind or outright stupid. Read all my posts here and my blog. I drove out the driveway and took it straight back and Jarvis refused to accept the car is a lemon! I am still trying to get the car replaced after 3 months. Next time please read with your eyes, not your **** ring. You put the keys on the ground in front of the salesman and walk off. Simple as that... Your an idiot for even taking it out of the yard, you inspect a car on pickup, and accept if your happy, if not you don't pay them. Your the stupid one, and now your trying to cover it up. Mate, what do you think Jarvis will do, swap him with a new car just like that???, i dont think so... they'll just cover it up by quick fixes. The fact that after the car is driven out from the dealer more problems happened, and thru warranty he is trying to get it fixed, but its never being properly fixed hence a lemon. Also you have already given a deposit so basically Blue would be on the backfoot already. Also, this is not a second hand car we are talking about. the fact is, a NEW car with warranty it should go out like a NEW car, with the fact it is a Toyota, people would not be expected to do some sort of 100point check before driving it out from the dealer and any minor problems can be dealt with the warranty fix up. mate, Next time you walk somewhere at night and get mugged i'll call you the stupid one for not checking the area for muggers first.
  8. So we shoule not buy australian made products? or force force OEMs to change mentality of their work force? Haha, thats one way lol, I dont think you can change anything here... its the fact that the 'fair-go' mentality gives that leniency in workplaces in Australia. Its not a bad thing as it promotes practices that protects our workers because every worker should be treated fairly regardless what industry you are in, its just that this may sacrifice in work output such as quality at times... In Japan / Korea, you slack off they'll kickyou out as simple as that, here we have unfair dismissal laws, Unions etc that which deters Employers to be the Slave-driver type. Basically Japan/Korea their traditions and culture is based on hardwork/honour which accepts the superlong hrs and slavedriving type management etc...
  9. Yep there is a switch on the right below of the steering wheel, it'll have a green light u cant miss it.
  10. It will still go off if you are like too close to it, I take it you dont leave like 30cm distance in front of you when you wait behind a car at the traffic lights?, as for the front the sensors are only to the left and right corner but yea will pick up whats in front if you are so so close. More to add from the other replies: Yes HU plays MP3's and WMA, it can read ID3 tags and knows folder structures. FWD/RWD debate, FWD you go too fast into a corner and you will UNDERSTEER meaning the car will no turn enough to where you intended as it will lose traction and grind in a straight manner, on the positive... if your not going insanely too fast and not a pro you can easily correct by applying the brakes and once traction kicks in you can control on your merry way. Negative... tyres in the front of the car will wear quicker than a RWD as FWD has the burden of holding traction from all directions. RWD, you go to fast you will slide (lose the rear end) OVERSTEER, and applying breaks wont help in this case because the wheels are going sideways, more experienced drivers will usually correct by counter steering and applying power... I like White, i didnt thought through a white colour Zr6 and ended up with black, but I recommend you get it, although black is sexy naturally, white on the aurion is sweet because the grey lines on the bodykit/spoiler complement the white in its styling, ask DKzr6 he has one with nice rims / lowered and looks sweet. Plus its easier to maintain than Black!.
  11. Its probably all more so on the batches, perhaps some people get cars from a good batch where assembly may be more careful e.g. earlier in the day perhaps than compared to the end of working day batches where people tend to be more slacker and want to go home asap. and given Aussie culture is like that in contrast with japanese labour culture, you probably can see why anything built in Japan is expected to be more reliable etc, same goes with camera's TV's etc.
  12. Yeah i get some tuk tuk tuk noise around the low revs at low speeds as well, gets annoying, had a look but with a tight engine bay it put me off going any further. and now the rear plastic speaker shelf is making squeeks when the car goes over some bumpy roads... I'll have to get Toyota to look at it...
  13. And also notice how its a 'Pre-delivery' option, its not mentioned/offered in the initial sales but after when you already shook the hand of the salesman its basically a scare tactic.... you bought a nice new car BUT WAIT ITS NOT PROTECTED!!!!
  14. An SS and XR6T is comparable to the Aurion TRD, not a normal Aurion as this would be comparable only to a NA XR6 or SV6 or any of the NA range of the big cars and yes Aurion wins hand down in almost all departments (hence car of the year). Though looking back the TRD Aurion, you also need to keep in mind we are dealing with HIPO cars here, and being a FWD there is Torque steer to consider. Ive had a family friend almost buy the TRD but backed out because he didnt like the wrestling with the steering wheel when he was flooring it on his test drive. Plus the understeer not to mention, tho it can be a positive and negative. That with the same gear box as a standard Aurion including the lag etc gives no credit to the car whatsoever. Overall the drivetrain sux for it to be performance based. IMO the TRD Aurion has missed the mark with this car even if I had the money I would not get this car. Mate.... Lag in D and Tiptronic all round! only thing to dissappoint me. But in regards to low revs agree with that, but its more the fact the engine lags to open up, it takes 1sec or so for the car to respond to your throttle change.
  15. Normally I drive in D so car should shift down automatically when i floor it from cruise... i take it from my parents older camry and sister's lancer does not suffer from this lag so i expected the aurion not too either. an example would be im cruising on 60km/h and then flooring it just to overtake some slowing down cars ahead and whalla lag comes in. Havent really tested a range of speeds but I assume it happens at all speeds except from 0
  16. Yep it really depends on your situation, as for me im probably going to sell it in 2 years down, so I wouldnt opt for extended warranty etc. And sure is much harder than what engines are used to, even recently compared to a CE Lancer (1998 model), you can play with your hearts content with that engine, but by looking at the engine with the aurion you better be careful. If you had a bit of money I would go an replace the entire HU, ud notice much of a difference especially if your running better speakers etc, and obviously more functionality depending how your $$$ goes...
  17. Dont get any of the pre delivery extras, my friend works for Toyota Corp says they are rubbish. Use Maguires stuff they are good, As for the acceleration, the lag is bad in my opinion, Im used to accelerating whilst overtaking especially when the other lane you going on to overtake is going faster than the lane your coming from , that 1-1.5sec lag in response makes me hesitant now to freely overtake when there is s short gap in the adjacent lane. Also makes it a bit dangerous on my part where same situation but you know there is accident just about to happen ahead of you and you need to quickly slip onto the next lane...
  18. if its not snapped on to the car e.g. a sticker based badge, Use a hairdryer on it until it get very hot and should be easy to peel off like stickers. Otherwise there are adhesive dissolving agents out there, not sure if autobarn, repco would keep it as stock but they should. but always make sure you test it out before application as you dont want to damage the cars coat in anyway...
  19. Nice choice on rims, that design suites alot of big cars like the aurion, was looking at that sort of design originally... is that red aurion text a sticker or those glow in the night embedded lights...?
  20. turbo in an aurion?? man that would be scary!!! make sure you dyno asap! =p nice..... Piggyback computer, custom fuel lines if not TRD aurion fuel lines, pump, probably even custop piping work i dont think there is room!, haha with the money all spent, ur better off getting a 2nd hand E46 M3 :)
  21. Not even that, the warranty book says ONLY USE GENUINE AND APPROVED TOYOTA PARTS a warranty from a mechanic means nothing. I dont think TOYOTA would approve using TRD CAI either!
  22. Anything added that will change the behviour of the engine will void the warranty when a defect arises, Check Section 1-8 dot point 2 - 3 on the warranty book. Just to note, even tho if any engine defect may not relate to what you did, Toyota will find a way to FCK u up and blame it on that and you lose. Whether CAI, gapping a sparkplug etc its all best avoided The guy was probably being frank about it all, just to make sure your on the safe side. I wouldnt risk the warranty especially if you happen to pay extended etc, just to hear a nicer noise
  23. Hey, didn't know that! I've seen a couple of black zr6's cruising around now, If you see an sx6 with my name on the plates, give it a honk and a wave, and i'll honk right back! Will do!
  24. Ah, but of course, you're not bursting any bubbles here, I think we all know that 'realistically'. At the end of the day we need to realize that we're hooning around in family cars, (albeit with very big engines). But lets face it, most of the kids out there there driving the 2nd hand rex mummy n daddy bought for them would be hard pressing driving out of their drive way let alone getting from 0-100km in their cars potential time. I'm not saying that we many of us are any better, but the beauty of it is... you don't have to drive well with a semi automatic V6 3.5L... Just point the car in the direction you want to head and floor it! =p Y-try, I'm from melbourne. Glen Waverly area Touche on both accounts... just making sure no misunderstanding that driver and car are seperate and that if you beat a STI, or a Ferrari to 0-100 means that you have a better car, people can develop a dangerous ego after such things that may lead to bad accidents going ahread... Also yeah im from Glen Waverley area as well more to Vermont..
