  1. Surely the Police would know that a car like say the Aurion is packing 200KW, It was like a mate who drives a BA XR6, he got pulled over one day and the police asked for the cars manual so they could check power/weight. The Aurion is like 124kw/tonne I think thats correct if i'm right in saying it weighs 1610kgs? As you said the police didnt know the the weight of the car. And likewise you dont always carry your manual with you in the car. and as per jonbays, different models weigh differently so cops tend to go 'errrmmm' in this area unless the car is blatently obviously a HiPo car.
  2. I think the KW/Tonne is the measurement you should be asking urself if your on the legality side of things, Though Im sure some police wouldnt know the kw/tonne or many cars that a re hipowered and let you get away with some. Like on that list an S2K is not mentioned and that goes way past the ratio. Id like to know the new Accord power to weight though...
  3. Does this mean that modifying the air intake / camshaft / ECU / etc will render a car undrivable by a p-plater?? Errr..... yes...
  4. Lol!, All these problems we read on the forums are a good indication of poor Australian Assembly or cars built here. rattles, squeeks, dropping doors....
  5. Id rather wait till one day, they'll have JDM style headlights (black internal plastics). Would be safer and looks part of the car instead of tinting the headlights.
  6. Its probably more that we have a bigger export program than either ford or Holden, especially ford. How many countries do we export to? almost the world, Holden perhaps US and Middle East.... Ford probably at most NZ lol. So yeah get in the queue!. Likewise with the new lancer, crazy the waiting line on those especially the fact they come here by boat.
  7. Thanks for the pic, Yeah im my circumstance it has to be 30mm at most, (got some driveway problems) so if pedders only have that size then its a oh hum from me. Also I want to keep my springs in original shape and intact so compressing them or chopping them is out of the question. The TRD would have a matching damper and spring set from what I believe built for that ride height. I dont think they would have gone all out and replaced all connecting bits with performance parts.
  8. To the spring thickness. Slightly heavier. My main aim is to just close the gap I have that is seen at the top of the tyre to the guard IE not be able to see thru ... if you know what I mean. I don't particularly want it down over the top of the tyres So you wanna close the gap but you don't want the wheels to "tuck" in under the guards... I think he means he doesnt want it that low that the tyres go under the guard ala lowrider. Yes heavier and thicker means stiffer it wont compress as easily as the originals which is natural because you dont want to smack into the bump stops.
  9. Lookn hot, love the rims too, go the spokey design! What height did you ask to lower it to? 42mm? or something else? You got a pic from the side? As for warranty yes its all suspension to even control arms castor rods, bushes, dampers, struts etc. Hopefully not, but they can even be more of a ***** and can claim any damage are due to the more vigorous movements that the stiffer springs provide over the stock ones.
  10. How come your selling your car in a years time? :o looking for a differnt car? A house, thought the Aurion was going to be an A to Ber but getting fond of it whilst having it, but I gotta stick to my plans!!! Grrrr
  11. Thats good that you notice improvement, Though im selling the car in a years time im going to avoid putting on an exhaust. What I would like to know is what is the stock fwkw and power/torque curves compared to with having an exhaust done.
  12. Hey on an Aurion, chrome is just what it needs, but I don't like it when people put heavy chrome wheels on a WRX... its like slapping the engineer who designed the race bred car across the face. It's all about power to weight ratio and not bling factor. This is one sexy Aurion/Camry though... in my books, those wheels are so sweet, might be harder to drive but well worth it. If u like Chrome, U can just order it in Indonesia... It has become cheap..Since it's not the trend anymore.. If u want..I can intro u to some1 i know...Trustful. Most of them went customizing things...Especially Body parts. There are lots of parts already...U just need to know the best place to look for them.. In Asia...I reckon Japan and Indonesia are the right places..Besides..Shipping isnt that expensive anemore. Like Yep... Lots of people say that Camry's model is very similar to Lexus.. So they changed the emblem to Lexus... =P That's ok man.. Yea..I do live in Aus, Sydney studyin in one of the Unis. I seriously want a TRD Body Kit..Ill try askin my Salesman again..Wonderin if he would help me out with this TRD kit.. Haha...In Indo, there's no such thing as "Defect" as such, including speed limit.. On the highway, You can just drive as fast as you want..lol.. Pretty Reckless and irresponsible aye? It's not Usual for Asian countries...It's only for some Asian Countries.. haha..Try it in Singapore...U'd be dead.. =P So True...LoL Reckless and irresponsible, but the quality of driver far exceeds here in Aus, with no lane markings, people merging into other people lanes without notification is all second nature. 1.5 size lanes for 2 way traffic but people can easily do it with like centimeter apart from each others side mirror. The cop cars are shyte rebadged 4cyl 1.6ltr protons cant keep up with anything, always speed over there. but be weary cops are corrupt as, no money to pay off could mean problems if caught.
  13. Dun worry. Mine's also 20", havent put them on thou. But I'm sure it's gonna be fine. Fyi, There are even sick people sittin on a 22" aurion... Havent seen one in Aussie thou.. Change ur rims again then.. I just got mine with rear 9.5 and front 8 or 8.5 . Forgot the front Haha lol, I'll live with it..... for the time being..... Spags, see if you can get a spacer.
  14. Looks good but the front lip makes the car fat not Phat lol! just my opinion tho. But.... Dont really want to burst your bubble, but are you living in Aus? If so... Do you realise it would be on the unroadworthy status if you made the car like that, especially here in Victoria. going to teh 21-22 inch size means how low profile are your tyres going to be and easily become cop bait. And remember u will need to be able to clear 100mm off the ground But in terms of the TRD bodykit, go for it if you have access, but only if the price is right, otherwise going custom would be a fresher look, but make sure the material by the customiser is good, otherwise a slight nudge and *snap* Also Asian countries are usually not regulated, I have a mate in Indonesia with a Peugeot 206 and its on full RACE gear, looks almost identical to a WRC one, loud as fck and beastly as anything, cops dont give a damn lol! luv it.
  15. I'll sell you my MTEC's same as ZZ's - $20 working fine. Get what I get OSRAM Nightbreakers. 90% more light + 10% more whiter, its as bright as some bmw hid's already and very excellent in rain. Its bright enough for people to think your on highbeams until u flick th HBeam switch and they just get shocked haha.
  16. yep, FWD drag takes practice, Ive seen HiPo civics do 12's on the qtr so its not all bad. But naturally a FWD is worse than RWD when we talk about serious power. The natural clockwise body torque when having crazy power means less grip on the front tyres as the weight is pulling backwards e.g. to the rear wheels.
  17. I think around +42 +45 should do it, Spags: Get your rims checked for the actual offset, you may also get spacers to attach to the hub so that the rims stick out a bit more. Im guessing your rims are not dish style? Or you can measure them offset = Length from rear lip to the backside of the hub mounting part - (rim width / 2)
  18. Looking good, hopefully you get some gains also out of it. When are the toyota boys meeting and where, might come by for a bit, hopefully in a while so I can get my sub/soundproofing/lowering done.
  19. Yeah good mate, .5-1mm thickness? to which regard?
  20. Yep effeciency drops, slightly more weight, more resistance ala more tread on the road, and also you going down from Michelin Energies. Also have you checked ur tyre pressure, im on 38psi on 35's wall height tyres, any higher and it will get uneven wear in the middle treads.
  21. If your into drifting then why would you want TCS on!, defeats the purpose. And dragging, if your serious about going to the strip to drag, burning old rubber to get to the fresher layers and heating them up is a good method to increase your grip... helps the takeoff times and maintains traction when the torque/power builds up, If you *know* how to drag you can achieve better times with TCS off than on, its all about controlling the power delivery in the first few gears. But to drive on roads, you would be silly to turn it off as its a safety feature for the environment you are driving in. any other acts of turning it off and taking advantage of it being off is plain Hooning and dangerous.
  22. Im on 20x8.5 all round and no problems at all, although im sitting on 225 rather than 245's. I was hoping they had a staggered fitment so the rears would be 9.0 but to no luck. Also check the offset of your rims.
  23. When you lower your car you will have a natural negative camber effect so the tyres will snug in a bit. Im on 20's and should be ok for 30-40mm lowering, Also remember using lowerered springs (designated for the car) usually are stiffer so, yes your comfort will go, but in the process you wouldnt go as deep on bumps as your normal springs would do. Also know that your suspension is more likely to leak after awhile because of the more jolted movement, if you are willing to go for a suspension kit then thats a better yet more costly alternative.
  24. hmm, last time i got quoate 180 for Sumitomos HR's each, 190 for Hankook Ko4's, but then its all depends on the place you get them from i guess... and then again i haggled with them pretty much... Personally, I wouldnt go with Nankangs...
