  1. to be honest... in spite of all the reviews i've read, the trd torque steers very slightly (if anything) more than the normal aurion... the only difference i can feel between the trd and the aurion is that from higher speeds (ie, 80+) when you stand on the car, it steering wheel twitches slightly... i've driven a 3MPS and its got WAAAYYYYY more torque steer than the TRD... honestly... if you're driving in a "lean back" gangsta style, then yes, the wheel WILL rip outta your hand... but if you drive like a normal person with both hands on the wheel, then its very controllable... but i experienced the same thing in the standard aurion as well... Thats not that bad then, Yeh the MPS in a smaller package and packing 380Nm of torque (compare to 400Nm TRD Aurion) its no wonder why.
  2. On a FWD, thats crazy, Toyota even advised they could push the TRD more but they said you couldnt drive it.. apparently the TRD Aurion is alraedy on the verge of discomfort, correct me if its wrong Secaboy that from your experience flooring it from 0, would already be pulling at your arm a bit. I wouldnt advise on buying anything until tuning houses have proven things would gain in an Aurion. Stick to the cosmetics/soundsystem bit first, give some time for things to be realised... haha 630kw, ur joking!!! , whats that a full replacement of internal parts, it wont be a 2G-FE anymore. From what I know, there are no vvti-L controllers in teh market, let alone for a Dual VVTI-L, As for 250kw atwheels thats nuts, that looking at around 270-280 at the crank on this kinda FWD, if you were after a performance sedan to begin with youd be better of getting a new XR6T thats already doing 270kw at the crank put replace with some fpv parts and u'll get 300kw no time.
  3. In fact the Corolla has pretty average fueld consumption ive heard people saying on a normal driving conditions it gets upto 9ltr/100, which is getting to a big car anwyays, if your wholy into the fuel consumption things then opt for a diesel,
  4. probably a dry join, wiggle the speaker wires at either end to hear if there is any change in buzz tone. Also check the grounding of your electrical system, you probably better off takin it back to a service centre.
  5. Well a toyota would not compete against another toyota so it will have to replace an existing model. I think if they made the Aurion on a RWD it would provide a better appeal to those looking for a change from their Commodore or Falcon... Given Toyota has bought more stake into Subaru, we could see in the future probably a AWD platform...
  6. As said before people circumstances dictate what to buy, if you dont care about the finer things then why spend that extra. Personally I like the extras use them alot, e.g. my gf gets colder easier than me so the dual zone is bliss.
  7. Lookin good mate, first aurion ive seen with black rims, ur the benchmark for that now !
  8. I have the same problem in my car - tried cleaning and everything - worked ok for a few days and the noise is back. TOYOTA SUCKS - will sell mine and get a Holden. Yeah I don't think the assembly of the car isnt all to well... A Holdenwoo sux just wait for the next recall, wait for the FG Ford I was mildly impressed with the range at the motorshow.
  9. The side ones (parkers) are the generic Wedge type bulb, you can go to any auto store and purchase whiter ones. I read someone managed to change the parkers by going through the wheel arch from underneath?
  10. Yeah mine rattles like a dog, its getting worse now, it used to rattle with the cover open and the moonroof closed but now with the cover closed its starting to make noises as well. Mine is probably worse even with the radio up its very noticable. Im going to raise this on my next service.
  11. Ouch, I only had to wait 2 weeks for mine... Thats what happens with a 'Global platform' car, your in queue against local, national and international customers. When I was querying about the new lancer VRX with sunroof + black, the dealer said you can be waiting upto 6 months for your car lol, because it was in demand everywhere.
  12. Hi insi, yes this will be the corner light, your parker lights, typically most if not all cars would use the wedge bulb (the one you are getting). There should be only one size for these, I havent experienced any different size ones. Just to note, this will be difficult to replace as there is a metal frame covering this section, you may need to remove the headlight and fit it in I think... but not sure, I didn't do it yet coz I couldnt be bothered at the time.
  13. Thanks for the Slip. No 0-100 im guessing? Smoke could be just the tyres, are they the michelin stockies? How did you find the traction? easy to manage? How was the ambience temp?
  14. Fantastic, Have you got a scan of the timeslips? also 0-100?
  15. Yep the H11 is for the Aurion, yes it replaces the existing standard headlight bulb (not hi-beam or parkers), its very easy, you just twist the holder and should pop out from my recollection. and no you dont have to remove the bumper. As for the other pictures, thats the MTEC light bulbs, not as bright, bluer and not so good in the rain. Its just the camera i used kinda exaggerates the exposure a bit.
  16. Do yourself a favour and go buy a Garmin Nuvi or simmilar quallity!!..At least they wont charge for upgrades, wont cost an arm and a leg, detail is heaps better and more user friendly!!..My two bobs worth:).. One more thing:), can use it from one car to another being portable.. Portable sounds good unless you live in Sydney and that translates to stealable. it becomes a pain taking them witrh you everywhere you park the car that might eb a bit ddodgy. Hide it under your seat and make sure theres no suction marks on the windscreen, should be ok... As for that new portable thing from Toyota, looks like Poo or something that fishingboats use to track fishes, Id rather get the Pioneer one and probably cheaper and better SQ through the unit itself.
  17. Damn thats been smashed bad, just out of curiousity, did Toyota do a compression test when they checked up the car? I reckon you better off taking it to a workshop than Toyota as I know from experience many of them are not cluey about mechanical engineering at all rather being your 'by text book' chump.
  18. KOYA RUSH II's 8.5x20" Chromes. I was originally looking for XIX X05's (same specs looks a bit different like BBS styles) but some bhastard bought the last set for his 2007 M3 ....ARGH Also just to note, as for the list of upgrades, ive taken a different step a bit HU is better: Kenwood DDX8039 Subwoofer upgraded: Kicker L7 12" Solo Baric 900wrms Kenwood KAC-9152 Mono Block and needing a Farad Capacitor for the power.
  19. OSRAM ones are called NIGHTBREAKERS, do a search on the net, and you'll find some people talk about it, its meant to be as good as the Philips xtremes. I got them from a UK site, I think it cost me around $50. Check out http://www.powerbulbs.com/ As for obtaining the Presara headlights, 330?? thats a bargain, so im guessing it doesnt come with the HID unit itself?, though to make it legit I think you'll still need the washers?
  20. HID kits are the way to go for performance wise, but there is the legality issue thing about it. Though usually cops will ignore this because the fact your car is newish and looks euro. What I did was changed the bulb to OSRAM Nightbreakers, offer 90% more light with 10% more whiter, been really good to the point people think your on highbeams lol, Never been happier.
  21. no idea but if i get the factory sat nav for the aurion zr6 im going to take it to a place to see if they can do something to it to play dvds. lol if they say for 200-250 well do it. im willing to give them that much. would be awesome to watch music clips when driving or watching dvds on road trips. goto www.burgdesign.com.au they sell them there. IMO these are rubbish, most likely using a older gen LCD screen (viewable from dead on only), and most likely cannot be updated. I would rather spend around 2k and get a aftermarket head unit and get a car interior design business to blend it into the console a bit more. In regards to factory, Remember your will probably void your warranty on that unit when tampering with it. Also there is some legality around driving and watching videos. Most aftermarket units like the Kenwood I have, your *off the shelf install* only allows you to watch the videos while the *parking break is engaged*, theres ways around it but if possibly a cop passes next to you and sees it on he may book you.
  22. How is the look of damage are the coil and sparkplug? have you got a photo, is it sooty, oily, or just blown to pieces?
  23. From what I heard, is that in WA you can buy a Modification permit, and with that you can mod the shyte out of your car with no worries. you would ensure that the mods DOESNT reduces the strength of the vehicle body reduces the controllability of the vehicle otherwise reduces the safety of the vehicle causes a nuisance or danger to other people.
  24. Also remember you might be just shifting the power curve steeper, i would advise anyone who is looking at improving their 'day2day usable' power to get it dynoed first and get recommendations from that. Otherwise you'll be revving higher on 6th gear to maintain speed on a freeway cruise cause your lowband has been sacrificed.
  25. Pwahhhh u gotz Vtec yo!, j/k :) Damn i miss the meeting the other day, should make a mini Aurion meet sometime would be good to gather all the Melb cars altogether!.
